It fires right up, runs well, shifts well, stops well, and drives well. This truck retains it's original drivetrain including the 360V8, 727 automatic 3-speed transmission, and 3:55 posi rearend. Only 5118 of these trucks were produced and who knows even how many exist today.  This truck's owner has completed a frame on restoration over the last few years. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos listed here on the auction. I can provide many more photos should any prospective buyer want them. Just call and ask for them. I have a very thorough compilation of documentation in hand for this truck. All the details are as follows:
DOCUMENTATION:
Original 1979 New York Title & New York State Title Letter
Original selling dealer's sales invoice ticket for purchase & deal jacket
Original receipt for purchase of the truck and cancelled check from purchase
Original Chrysler warranty booklet for the truck
Original under hood build sheet for the truck showing all equipment from new
Original Chrysler rebate card & maintenance punchlist checkcards
Original tire inflation pressure & tire maintenance information manual
Original 1979 Dodge Truck Owners & Operation Manual
All receipts in hand since 1979 for replaced and upgraded parts for truck
Original NY state inspection receipts over the last 35 years documenting the mileage over the years to verify 79,822 original miles.
MECHANICALS:
The truck has been completely serviced including all the following:
Engine oil & oil filter change with 10W-40 oil and Lucas Oil Stabilizer
New Mopar high volume oil pump & oil pan gaskets. Great oil pressure !
Transmission ATF fluid & filter changed along with Lucas Auto Trans Treatment
New spark plugs, recent plug wires, recent gas filter, recent engine belts
New Holley chrome air filter with new 14"X3" open air filter element
New water pump, fresh hoses, fresh antifreeze, fresh thermostat
Remanufactured windshield wiper motor just installed
Cylinder heads removed, magnafluxed, decked, planed, reinstalled with new cylinder head gaskets, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets.
New high torque mini-starter installed.
New Classic Car Exhaust system (Non-Cat system) installed from exhaust manifolds back to side stacks.
There is a small emissions connector pipe behind the passenger side exhaust manifold that was blocked off. It makes an exhaust tick that you can hear.
Summit Racing Performance power package installed on engine at approximately 50,000 miles which included a performance cam & lifter set, Edelbrock performer aluminum intake manifold, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and double roller steel timing chain and gears set
Underhood appears to have dirty inner fenderwells. This actually is either the factory or dealer applied undercoating which helped to preserve the truck but sprayed all in the painted steel areas of the inner fender wells.
BODY & COSMETICS
The truck received a professional paint job a few years back in Viper Red since at the time the Lil' Red color was unavailable and this is the closest shade to match the original paint color. The paint job is still in great shape and clean and shiny.  There is one scratch along the lower rear fender on the passenger side right at the bottom of the fender. The exterior wood on the bed was also replaced at the same time and still presents very well. The driver's side floor was also replaced at that time with a reproduction exact fit floor pan. It was professionally removed, welded and seam sealed back in and then painted black. The bed has been recently restored/replaced with all original boards removed and used as templates for new oak boards which were then coated in marine grade varnish on the top and bottom to protect them. A chrome plated stainless steel strap and carriage bolt kit was used to bolt down the planks to fasten everything up and it looks great. New chrome plated tailgate chains were also installed. They have clear plastic protective sleeves on them as well.
Undercarriage of the truck is in good condition. No rot.  Some frame surface rust but no holes at all. This truck was either dealer or factory undercoated which protected and preserved the undercarriage.
The original "Astro" wheels are in fair condition. They were known for surface rust. These do have some but again they are the original wheels. The rear BF-Goodrich tires are in like new condition. The front tires have about 70% tread on them. I also have the original full size matching spare with original Goodyear tire.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in very good condition. The padded dash is in great shape with no cracks. All gauges work. The original radio is not working. Lighting is in good working condition. Head lights (hi/low beams), tail lights, turn signals all working. The seats were reupholstered some years ago in a simple plain black vinyl covering. Drivers side is developing a small crack along edge where you slide into the seat when entering the truck. The carpet has been replaced. The only item that could use replacement is the door rubber weatherstripping. It is old and has dried out and cracked in spots.

Fiat Chrysler CEO says final merger talks with Peugeot going well

Thu, Jan 23 2020

BRUSSELS — Fiat Chrysler's chief executive Michael Manley said on Wednesday that merger talks with Peugeot owner PSA  to create the world's No. 4 carmaker are progressing well and he hopes to have a deal within 12-14 months. Speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of an industry meeting, he said he doesn't expect any major obstacles that could delay a final agreement. "Talks are progressing really well," Manley said about negotiations with the French carmaker ahead of a briefing by the European automotive association (ACEA), of which he is president. His comments come a month after the two carmakers agreed to a binding deal worth about $50 billion to combine forces in response to a slowdown in global demand and mounting costs of making cleaner vehicles amid tighter emissions regulations. Manley's timeline for completing the deal by early 2021 is in line with a forecast made by the companies in December. Fiat and Peugeot are now getting into the details of how the merger will work, including choosing which vehicle platforms — the technological underpinnings of a vehicle — will fit which products in a combined company. Because customers in different locations still prefer vastly different cars, there is room for multiple platforms in a combined group, Manley said. "That global platform is an elusive beast," he added. "This concept of a massive global platform in my mind is almost a myth, but that doesnÂ’t mean to say weÂ’re not going to recruit significant volume." Related Video:

Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...
