1978 Lil Red Express Dodge Barn Find 31,679 Original Miles Numbers Correct Mopar on 2040-cars
Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale is this exceptionally solid, original, unmolested example of a true numbers correct 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express pickup . All numbers correct from the correct stamping on the 360 engine to the VIN on the frame. I even have the numbered tags that match up the proper cab to the proper bed. It even still has the factory 8 track player intact. Purchased out of North Carolina a couple years ago with all intentions of redoing it, I find myself with not enough time and too many projects. Its time to start letting some Mopars go. Just can't see myself getting to it anytime soon.Truck was found sitting in a barn in North Carolina that had sat there for close to 20 years. Mileage is correct on the truck showing 31,679 miles and is very evident with the condition of the truck. Very solid with no major rot issues. A few small pinholes in the drivers floorboard and some rot along the inside bedfloor seam where it meets the wood slat on the one side is about the extent of the rot. Otherwise VERY VERY solid. You will not be disappointed with the condition. All the body panels are original to the truck. No indications of previous patchwork or fill work being done on the lower sections. With a total production of these trucks just over 2,100 there is less than 700 known to exist. Since purchase the only things I have done with it is a carb rebuild, new plugs, wires and oil change just to get it running. To avoid contamination, I have been running it from a bottle of gas under the hood until the tank can be cleaned and lines changed. I started to purchase some items for the truck and are all included in the sale. I bought another set of factory wheels that are currently installed on the truck with (4) almost new tires. You will also receive the other wheels that came with the truck and the spare. Also included is a new set of fuel lines and brake lines from Right Stuff. Also included is a new set of door weatherstrips and a new wood kit for the tailgate and bedsides (less 1 small piece) (see picture). Original interior is in great shape. Seat is nice as is the carpet. Aged but original and useable. It will need both armrests, glovebox door, shifter knob and a seat hinge cover. With a good detail, and going through of the mechanics of the truck there really is no reason you couldn't get this back on the road quickly without restoring it right away. Its that respectable. Even the exhaust stacks are in great condition and not all rusted up. I am asking for a 1,000.00 Non refundable deposit in form of bank check/wire transfer within 48 hours of winning bid. Balance due within 14 days in form of cash upon pickup or if third party will be picking the vehicle up truck must be paid for in full and ample time allowed for clearing of payment. Vehicle will not be released until funds are cleared and secure. Vehicle must be picked up within 30 days unless prior arrangements are made and agreed upon by buyer and seller. Please, if you do not have the funds available for this purchase, don't bid. Its that simple! Feel free to Email me to make arangements to come look at the truck if you would like. I have a clear PA title in my name for the truck. Buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs associated with shipping. Truck is sold as is with no warranty. If you like originality then this is definatly the one for you. Great investment potential. Regardless of your tastes in cars, whether it be a Ford, Chevy ETC. Everyone knows a Lil Red Express.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
2014 Dodge Durango bows with eight-speed auto, updated looks [w/video]
Thu, 28 Mar 2013Dodge has significantly updated its full-size Durango for the 2014 model year, giving the seven-passenger hauler a fresh look and a well-rounded boost of competitive features as it enters its fourth year in the showroom.
Cosmetically, it is hard to miss the revised front end with projector-beam headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, "floating" crosshair grille, a taller front bumper and a new lower fascia. The rear end of the facelifted Durango has been redesigned with the automaker's now-signature LED "racetrack" taillamps and resculpted rear fascia. All of the wheels are new too, with 18- and 20-inch options for each trim level with a variety of factory finishes.
Inside the cabin, buyers can select the automaker's latest Uconnect infotainment system with a full suite of infotainment features and connectivity accessed through an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other optional goodies include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seating and a Blu-Ray player capable of running unique programs on the twin individual rear monitors.
Certain Chrysler owners eligible for buyback program
Mon, Jul 27 2015Certain car owners whose Chrysler vehicles contain dangerous defects will soon have a way to get rid of their lemons without losing money. As part of an agreement with federal regulators, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has agreed to buy back more than 500,000 vehicles susceptible to veering out of control without warning at above market-value prices. The deal mainly covers certain models of RAM trucks, the Dodge Dakota pickup and Dodge Durango SUV. Further, owners of more than 1.5 million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokees at heightened risk for lethal fires are eligible to trade in their vehicles at above market value or, alternately, get a gift certificate if they prefer to have repairs made. Chrysler has "a heavy responsibility to make sure the products they make are safe for the traveling public," said Mark Rosekind, administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. "... Here, we are sending an unambiguous signal to industry that if you skirt the laws or violate the law, or don't live up to the responsibility that consumers expect, we are going to penalize you." The buy-back and trade-in options for motorists come as part of an unprecedented penalty NHTSA slapped against Chrysler for violating federal motor-vehicle safety laws. Chrysler will pay a $105 million fine, the highest ever levied by the regulatory agency. In addition to the buy-backs, Chrysler also agreed to an independent monitor for three years. Investigators had outlined problems in the company's conduct in 23 recalls that affected more than 11 million defect vehicles. As part of a consent-order agreement, Chrysler acknowledged it did not notify vehicle owners of recalls in an effective manner and did not notify NHTSA of safety problems. Though those recalls affected millions of drivers, the buy-back and trade-in options are only for a small portion of the vehicles involved. Because Chrysler struggled to fix the problem and no repair was apparent, Rosekind said the buy-backs are reserved "for customers who didn't have a remedy." Buy-backs are for trucks and SUVs affected by three recalls that occurred in 2013 (recalls 13V-038, 13V-527 and 13V-529), that addressed a rear-axle pinion nut that could come loose and cause a loss of vehicle control. Those recalls covered 579,228 vehicles, including 2009-2012 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks, 2009-2012 Dodge Dakotas, 2009 Chrysler Aspen and the 2009 Dodge Durango.
