'78 L'il Red Express for sale. Miles are original, one owner since bought new in 1978. Has never been wrecked, kept covered under patio for last 15 years. Maybe 200 miles put on it in that time frame, has been babied its whole life. Nothing has been rebuilt, but starts right up and drives fine. A/C blows but does not get cold, all original except for carb, seat, radio(which I do have the original but doesn't work) and manifold( which I do have original cast iron one). Truck was painted about 15 years ago and still looks fine. No dents or scratches on body. Dash is NOT cracked but is faded in front of drivers side, carpet is faded, boards are in the bed but not around the truck. I do have the original boards to use as templates but not the hardware for them. I also have some trim stickers but not for the doors which are faded as well. Truck will need some work due to sitting up for so long and not being driven, but is mechanically sound. Would not take a lot of work or money to restore depending on how far someone wants to take it. If you know these trucks then you know how rare and special they are, especially the '78s. No need for me to go into that. Rubber on the truck is literally only the 2nd set of tires that has been put on the truck. Dodge Viper saved from crusher by students, but will it last?
Tue, 16 Sep 2014The saga of the Washington state community college hoping to keep its allegedly pre-production Dodge Viper out of the maw of the crusher is going strong. Not only does the school still have the car, but there's a chance that the college might even get to keep it.
The whole situation flared up in March when the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA, received a notice from Chrysler Group that requested that the school's Viper be destroyed. The automaker had loaned the muscle car to it about a decade ago to use for educational purposes in its auto tech classes. With the Dodge growing long in the tooth, "it is unlikely that these vehicles offer any educational value to students," the company said in its press release on the matter.
However, the college balked at destroying its Viper, despite the fact it had signed a contract with Chrysler Group to do so. The school further claimed that its car was incredibly special because it was a pre-production example and just the fourth one made back in 1992. Although, as we pointed out at the time, the photos of the school's vehicle showed a coupe that looked like a newer Viper GTS.
Chrysler recalls small number of 2013-2014 cars and trucks over engine debris
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Chrysler is recalling a small number cars over issues with their 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. The recall, which affects 522 examples of its 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 models, as well as 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot CUVs has to do with potential debris in the balance shaft bearings.
The abrasive stuff can cause the oil pressure to drop, which could lead to the engine stalling or outright failure. This situation could at best leave drivers stranded and at worst lead to a crash.
Chrysler will begin notifying owners, who will need to report in to have the balance shaft module replaced. All repairs are naturally free of charge. Scroll down for the bulletin from NHTSA.
Ron Burgundy returns for four more Dodge Durango ads
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Dodge has released several more of its Anchorman 2-themed commercials, starring Will Ferrell as inept newsreader Ron Burgundy. The four spots, one of which is a sequel to a previous commercial, follow roughly the same pattern as previous ads, with Ferrell's Burgundy misunderstanding or generally making a fool of himself. For some of the ads, though, Burgundy is selling more than just Durangos - the red-suited host of San Diego's most watched news broadcast shilling the entire Dodge lineup.
We've included all four ads down below, and you can also hope over to our original posts to see some of the older commercials. Oh, and if you're getting tired of these - we aren't, aside from the Do-dge spot - just remember that Ferrell reportedly filmed around 70 ads for Dodge.
