Someone asked for a photo of the door plate so here it is.

1970 Dodge D300 1 ton 2 wheel drive..

Automatic, assisted steering, overleaf springs, rebuilt 318 motor, rebuilt torque-flite transmission, new brakes, hoses, fluids.
Professional mechanic work done in California.

This truck truly makes the heads turn. Perfect for hauling motorcycles and extra gear.  It is a 9 foot bed step side pick up with a fairly new rebuilt motor, transmission, and brakes. I have had a lot of fun driving this beast but I am now on to newer pastures. I love this old truck. It runs great, has plenty of power. The transmission is a torque-flite that has no issues, the filter and fluid was just changed. the assisted steering makes this truck easy to use your other hand for phone calls and waiving out the window. The brakes shoes, drums and lines have all been worked on and tested. the motor has new hoses, gaskets, oil and filters. The reason the drivers door is a different color is she was hit by a delivery truck. So I found a replacement door. The heater does not work. the radiator is about 7 years old. the tires will soon need to be replaced but are still in good shape. If you want a great truck, this is the one. Nobody has this 9 foot bed, I'm finding it hard to go back to an 8 foot bed already. You will be responsible for delivery to your location.  I will not make any calls for you.

The down side stuff: the gauges on the dash are not original, the seat is worn out, the back window is cracked, the bed boards are gone and need replacing.

I get this question all the time: Why does the truck look like the frame is bent in the middle?  Well my response is: The old wood bed is rotted out there and it is touching metal to metal.  The frame is not bent in the middle.  I hope you are satisfied with this description.  I'm not Shakespeare, buy this truck, restore it for a parade float or whatever and I will give you glowing feedback!!

This is an incredible truck!

Our interview with Jeremy Clarkson and James May, plus SEMA! | Autoblog Podcast #491

Fri, Nov 4 2016

This week, David Gluckman and Mike Austin talk SEMA madness, mis-aligned steering wheels, wireless charging, McLarens (they're sports cars!), and decals. We also have an excerpt from a recent interview with James May and Jeremy Clarkson of The Grand Tour and Top Gear fame. As always, we talk about a variety of cars we've been driving and then respond to some questions from listeners. And as a bonus, there's a trivia question mixed in. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want questionable buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. Oh, and please send trivia questions! You'll get the honor of stumping your fellow listeners, and we'll thank you too. Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?

John Schneider's General Lee Dodge Charger up for auction

Thu, Jun 25 2015

Over 150 years after it was first adopted, the Confederate flag is disappearing from license plates, state-legislature flagpoles, and even toy cars across the American South. While some are ready to bury those Stars and Bars forever as a symbol of racism and slavery, others will miss them as an emblem of freedom. Regardless of where you stand, the emergence of this particular vehicle on the auction block couldn't have come at a more poignant time. It's a 1969 Dodge Charger, and as you can see it's been done up just like the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. While it may not be one of the cars used in the original television series, it's not without its provenance. The vehicle is the last of four that were customized by John Schneider, the actor who – long after the rebel flag ceases to fly – will forever be remembered for his portrayal of Bo Duke on that timeless television show. It's painted orange, emblazoned with the number 01 on the doors, the words "Bo's General Lee" above each window, and that controversial flag on the roof. It also features signatures and messages inscribed by Schneider, as well as by Sonny Shroyer (who played Deputy Enos Strate on the show), and by sportscaster and former pro basketball player Jalen Rose who once owned the car. It appeared alongside Schneider in commercials and films, and in the pages of the Mopar Collector's Guide. Now it's set to be sold off to the highest bidder this weekend by Invaluable Auctions and Julien's Auctions, where it's expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 – assuming the latest controversies don't hinder its chances.
