Exceptionally original, complete, stock, rust-free 1946 Dodge WFA32 (14,000lb GVW) one and a half ton farm truck with what we believe is very low original miles. This truck was bought along with several others by a buddy of mine. The plan was to use them as local advertising for a business venture that ultimately failed. It ran wonderfully and was driven locally as recently as late 2011. At that point he parked it and removed the radiator for a repair. Naturally the radiator was promptly stolen and the truck has sat, very well-preserved, in our dry, desert community since then. Currently, it's not a runner but could become one easily. And other than the radiator, this truck has all it's original parts.

The body is very impressive with the cab, doors, hood, inner/outer fenders and grill in excellent condition. As farmers do, it's been painted once (exterior only) eons ago. Even (especially?) with that, the entire truck has a beautiful patina that only 67 years of Mother Nature could create. Floorboards are rock solid with only surface rust (nature's protectant). And just to be safe, they have been treated. Cab corners are wonderful. Side and rear glass is good but front glass is cracked. It's easily fixable as it's all flat glass. Flat bed is period-correct and the vintage wood is still pretty decent.

In my opinion, the interior is stunning because of it's purity. Detail it thoroughly and it would be a Preservation Class show piece. All buttons, knobs, and switches are in place and have not been lost to history. Doors open and close properly; windows roll up and down. And again, floorboards (and kick panels for that matter) are rock solid. Even the upholstery has aged reasonably well.

The running gear was great as recently as late 2011; I have every reason to believe it still is. It has whatever Flathead 6 they came stock with, the original 4 speed manual transmission, and factory rear differential with Hi-Lo splitter (switch is on the shift lever - see pics). This truck still rolls and steers properly. Brakes used to work well but now go to the floor from sitting too long. Parking brake works well. Tires work okay as rollers but are old and cracked.

For the right person this is a great truck. I hope it finds an owner that will preserve her originality and patina. A beauty like this can be restored over and over but is only original once.

My name is Chris and I am happy to answer your questions. Please call me at 435-669-1470. I also have many additional pictures that show every nook and cranny. Send me your email address and I'll get them to you. The truck is located in the dry, desert community of Hurricane, Utah (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding.

Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...

Will Dodge limit 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat to 1,200 units?

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

With over 700 horsepower on tap and a price tag barely over $60k, Dodge appears on paper to have a winner on its hands with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. But if you want to get your hands on one, you may have to act quicker than this most powerful of muscle cars covers the quarter-mile.
That's because, according to our compatriots over at Edmunds, Dodge may limit production - in the first year, at least - to just 1,200 units. That would amount to barely a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge moves each month, and would also mean only one Hellcat for every two Dodge dealers in the US - which could lead to some serious contention over which stores and which customers can get their hands on the ultimate Challenger.
Reached for comment, SRT spokesman Dan Reid told Autoblog that "there is no plan to limit production of the Challenger Hellcat," echoing the words of Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis who told Edmunds: "We don't know what the market demand is." Which doesn't mean that it won't restrict production, but doesn't mean that it will, either. It just hasn't decided yet - or announced any such decision, at any rate - over what will be the final allocation strategy for what could be a game-changing muscle car. That is, at least, until new versions of the Mustang and Camaro come along in pursuit of Dodge's bragging rights...

2015 Dodge Challenger configurator has all the Hellcat you can dream of

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has sucked up a lot of air in the automotive news world this summer, so it's good to know that you can actually go out and, you know, buy the sucker. With 2015 models headed for your local showroom, Dodge has seen fit to also pull the wraps off it's latest Challenger configurator, complete with the supercharged Hemi V8 option that we just can't seem to get enough of.
We're still enamored of the $58,995 starting price for the 707-horsepower SRT, but the online tool finally gives us a chance to see just how optioned up our dream super-muscle coupe can get.
Buyers can choose from three interior treatments and nine paint colors, with two hues (Ivory White and Phantom Black tri-coats) coming for a $500 premium. For $1,795 Laguna Leather SRT bucket seats can be added in place of the (very nice) stock chairs, and a fancier infotaiment system with navigation and HD radio runs $695.
