1941 DODGE FLAT FENDER MILITARY TRUCK WITH DUAL REAR WHEELS
WAS ORIGINALLY A 201 FLATHEAD 6 CYLINDER WITH A 4 SPEED TRANS AND SINGLE SPEED TRANFER CASE. NEEDS RESTORATION. WAS A RUNNING AND DRIVING TRUCK 2 YEARS AGO. VERY SOLID CAB ONLY HAS A COUPLE OF SMALL FLOOR HOLES AND REAR CAB TO FLOOR SEAM NEEDS SOME LIGHT RUST REPAIR. THE FRAME HAS BEEN HEAVILY (NOT FROM RUST ...JUST USAGE) PLATED. ALSO THE DOORS NEED SOME REPAIR ON THE INSIDE UNDERNEATH AS WELL AS WHERE THE MIRRORS MOUNT (SOMEONE WELDED ON PLATES TO INSTALL THE MIRRORS!!) CURRENTLY THE BED AND TAILGATE ARE OFF, BUT STILL INCLUDED. THE ENGINE IS GONE BUT THE REST OF THE DRIVELINE IS STILL THERE AND IN GOOD SHAPE. TRANSMISSION HAS THE AUXILLARY PTO DRIVE FOR A WINCH OR OTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. (I HAVE AN ORIGINAL BRADEN PTO DRIVEN WINCH AVAILABLE SEPARATELY FOR $500) HAS A TRANSFERABLE NEW YORK REGISTRATION (NEW YORK IS A NON TITLE STATE) WHICH THE DMV RECOGNIZES AND WILL PRODUCE A TITLE WHEN TRANSFERRED. NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.
2014 Dodge Durango bows with eight-speed auto, updated looks [w/video]
Thu, 28 Mar 2013Dodge has significantly updated its full-size Durango for the 2014 model year, giving the seven-passenger hauler a fresh look and a well-rounded boost of competitive features as it enters its fourth year in the showroom.
Cosmetically, it is hard to miss the revised front end with projector-beam headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, "floating" crosshair grille, a taller front bumper and a new lower fascia. The rear end of the facelifted Durango has been redesigned with the automaker's now-signature LED "racetrack" taillamps and resculpted rear fascia. All of the wheels are new too, with 18- and 20-inch options for each trim level with a variety of factory finishes.
Inside the cabin, buyers can select the automaker's latest Uconnect infotainment system with a full suite of infotainment features and connectivity accessed through an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other optional goodies include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seating and a Blu-Ray player capable of running unique programs on the twin individual rear monitors.
Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
