1940 Dodge VC-4
Please serious inquirers only.
If you are looking for the truck that started the power wagon this is the truck for you. This 1940 Dodge VC-4 is 1 of 4 built in a closed cab pickup in 1940. The truck was restored back in 1982 & 1983, the paint job was completed in 1983 so as you can see from the pictures the truck has been well taken care of. The truck has had some dings and dents over the years but run great and is the only vehicle that I have had that would start up no matter how long it has been sitting.
As you can see the interior is not original as it has bucket seats and carpet throughout the inside, the head lights are not original, and the speedometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge is not working.
Dodge VC 1/2 Ton 4x4 Truck (G505)
The Dodge VC Half Ton 4x4 Truck, in six models, was the follow up to a very active program by Dodge to supply trucks to the War Department in WW II and the inter-war years. The VC series were based on civilian one ton rated truck designs, a first attempt to fill the vast needs that would develop for the American military in World War II. The VC series half-ton trucks was classified as G505.
Truck, 1/2 ton, 4x4, Dodge VC (G505)
The G505 family of 1/2 ton, 4x4 VC trucks built by Dodge contained six individual models. Only the pickup body and the Command Reconnaissance body had production exceeding one thousand with smaller numbers of the others manufactured.
All of the VC-1 to VC-6 G505 Dodge half-ton 4x4 vehicles were produced during 1940 under War Department contracts, for a total of 4,640 trucks. While very successful, the 1/2 ton VC trucks were superceded in 1941 by the 1/2 ton G505 WC trucks, also from Dodge. Although obsolete, the 1/2 ton VC G505 trucks remained in use to the end of World War II.
All Dodge halfton VC series trucks were Dodge engineering code T202 with a 116 in. wheelbase. The T202 engine was a flathead 6 cyl. 201.3 cu. in. with 79hp@3000rpm. The transmission had 4 speeds and the transfer case had one.

Marchionne says no offers are on the table for Fiat Chrysler
Sun, Sep 3 2017MONZA, Italy (Reuters) - Fiat Chrysler (FCA) has not received any offer for the company nor is the world's seventh-largest carmaker working on any "big deal", Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said on Saturday. Speaking on the sidelines of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix, Marchionne said the focus remained on executing the company's business plan to 2018. Asked whether FCA had been approached by someone or whether there was an offer on the table, he simply said: "No." The company's share price jumped to record highs last month after reports of interest for the group or some of its brands from China. China's Great Wall Motor Co Ltd openly said it was interested in FCA, but had not held talks or signed a deal with executives at the Italian-American automaker. The stock move was also helped by expectations that the company might separate from some of its units. Marchionne reiterated on Saturday that FCA was working on a plan to "purify" its portfolio and that units, such as the components businesses, would be separated from the group. He hopes to complete that process by the end of 2018. "There are activities within the group that do not belong to a car manufacturer, for example the components businesses. The group needs to be cleared of those things," he told journalists. Asked whether an announcement could come this year, Marchionne said it was up to the board to decide and that it would next meet at the end of September. He said the time was not right for a spin-off of luxury brand Maserati and premium Alfa Romeo and the two brands needed to become self-sustainable entities first and "have the muscle to stand on their feet, make sufficient cash". "The way we see it now, it's almost impossible, if not impossible, to see a spin-off of Alfa Romeo/Maserati, these are two entities that are immature and in a development phase," he said. "It's the wrong moment, we are not in a condition to do it." He said the concept of separating the two brands from FCA's mass market business made sense and did not rule out this happening in future, but not under his tenure, which lasts until April 2019. "If there is an opportunity in future, it would certainly happen after I'm gone. It won't happen while Marchionne is around," he said.
Chrysler celebrates 30 years of minivans with special editions
Tue, 03 Sep 2013It's been known by many names: the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager, Chrysler Voyager, Lancia Voyager, Volkswagen Routan, Ram Cargo Van... but the bottom line is that Chrysler's minivans have defined the segment for 30 years now. In fact, Chrysler says it has sold 13 million of them since 1983, helped along by the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan that accounted for nearly half of all minivans sold in the United States just last year. So to celebrate this three-decade milestone, the Auburn Hills auto has announced a pair of new special editions.
The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country 30th Anniversary Edition starts the Touring-L trim and includes such special touches as 17-inch wheels, unique badging, available Granite Crystal Pearl paint and an interior decked out in black Alcantara and Nappa leather, piano black trim and all the optional bells and whistles bundled in.
The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan 30th Anniversary Edition, meanwhile, starts off with either the SE or SXT trims and also upgrades with 17-inch alloys as well as color-keyed mirrors and an interior with silver stitching, piano black trim, power everything, and of course, those special badges.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
