1935 Dodge Rat Rod Truck Pickup on 2040-cars

Year:1935 Mileage:100000
Location:

Cody, Wyoming, United States

1935 dodge rat truck. I know see why most rat rod trucks don't have hoods. what a pain to get everything to fit, anyway. the front end is out of a heavy duty ford econoline van. the front end was totally custom made. it has a 351 Cleveland 2v that totally rebuilt in about 1975. this engine has been started and runs very well. the radiator is out of a 1978 jeep wagoner and fits well. it has a small hole in the top that needs to be brazed. it will need a pusher type fan as there was not enough room to put a fan on. there is plenty of room between the grille and radiator for one. the transmission was in very nice condition and is totally apart. all internals are very nice and it has a brand new rebuild kit for it. this is all included. it also has an original stock stall converter that is included. the transmission was installed to ensure that everything fit when the body was installed. it will fit fine. the entire interior is installed and welded up, except for the area around the driver's side. I wanted to reinstall the trans and check everything again. this has a heater out of a 1978 jeep wagoner that works and is all hooked up. the fan on this heater also works. the photo does not show, but the interior will have a set of dodge van seats. these were previously installed also to make sure everything fit well. the power steering box is also out of the 1978 jeep wagoner. it is hooked up to the power steering pump, but has not been tested. this power steering worked fine when it was taken out of the jeep. a  driveshaft was made to fit perfectly. it has new u-joints. a wiring fuse block is installed under the dash, and the engine part is wired, but the front/rear taillights will need to be wired. the rear end is out of an 80's ford truck, a DANA I believe, but need to check this if needed. the wood in the flat bed is old weathered oak that was reused from the old original truck. the gas tank is out of a 1930's or 40's allis chalmer tractor and all the gas lines are hooked up. the gas tank is very clean inside and mounted to the bed securely. the battery box is installed and the battery lines are already ran. it has a brand new starter. this was originally a AAA wrecker and the graphics on the doors are great. the body/hood/flatbed are all original to the truck. a new windshield was made and installed in the original frame. it has some rust on the bottom of the doors and cab, which is a requirement for a rat rod. the brakes on the front are rebuilt and has the master brake cylinder installed. it will need shock mounts installed on the front. the frame is dropped behind the cab so the frame rails do not stick up into the cab. with the seats installed it is comfortable, I am 6 feet tall and have plenty of room. this has been chopped 3 inches.

this does not have a title, but I can get one if needed, this is a very easy process in the state of Wyoming. it has the original VIN mounted to the firewall. Please feel free to ask any questions. this can be inspected in Cody Wyoming. please note, this has not been driven. I check my ebay messages several times a day, but will be out of town next Friday and Saturday, so anyone is welcome to call me at 307-899-0776 with any questions, thanks.

HAD A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS THAT I WILL ANSWER: THE REASON SOME OF THE PAINT IS GONE FROM THE VALVE COVER IS BECAUSE I DRIPPED SOME BRAKE FLUID ON THE VALVE COVER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND IT TOOK THE PAINT OFF. THIS ENGINE WAS REBUILT AND HAS 0 MILES ON IT. I ALSO TOOK OFF A PLASTIC CAP FROM THE TOP OF THE CARB, OTHER THAN THE PHOTO, THIS HAD A PLASTIC CAP TAPED OVER THE TOP OF THE CARB SO NO DIRT OR CRITTERS WOULD GET INTO THE ENGINE. THIS WAS PUT BACK AFTER THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN, THANKS FOR THE QUESTIONS.

IF ANY ADDITIONAL PHOTOS ARE NEEDED OF SPECIFIC AREAS, PLEASE CALL AND I WILL GET THEM SENT. PLEASE CALL AS EBAY DOES NOT ALLOW THE DREADED E-WORD IN A LISTING.

Mopar updates owner apps to make car ownership easier

Wed, Jun 3 2015

Owners of any Fiat Chrysler vehicle will want to head to the Apple App or Google Play store to download the latest version of their brand-specific smartphone app. Developed by Mopar, the new suite of FCA Owner apps specific to each brand pack a number of valuable features. For starters, the apps let owners access information like maintenance schedules, service history and recall notices. The apps also include an array of how-to information and instructional videos, offer push notification for important updates like maintenance offers and recall alerts, and allow customers to schedule test drives and receive quotes from their local dealers for new vehicles. But that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The FCA Owner apps also feature an augmented reality function that helps drivers identify instrument-panel icons. There's a Parking Reminder feature that helps drivers remember where they parked their car, guides them back to their parking spot and tracks the time left on the meter. Finally, there's an Accident Assistant feature that helps drivers record the specifics of an accident, upload insurance information and take photos of the scene. It'll even help find the closest certified collision repair facility, schedule an appointment and access roadside assistance. The apps are available for any Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Fiat or Alfa Romeo built from 2011 till today, and are available for either iOS or Android. If you've got more than one FCA vehicle in your garage, you needn't download multiple versions of the app as they'll work on any model the Italian-American automaker offers. Mopar Enhances FCA Owner Apps - Redesigned FCA Owner apps offer a wide range of VIN-specific information - Owners can access maintenance schedules, service history, recall notices and more - "Augmented reality" function, beginning with 2015 models, allows owners to use camera feature on mobile devices to scan and identify instrument panel icons - Industry-first Accident Assistant feature helps owners easily document important accident information and quickly locate a certified repair facility - Individual brand versions of the app support all FCA brand vehicles - FCA Owner apps are free to download for both iOS and Android mobile devices May 29, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Mopar brand has redesigned and enhanced its suite of FCA Owner apps, putting more resources than ever at owners' fingertips with easier access to vehicle and lifestyle information.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.

Common Dodge Ram 1500 vs. Chevrolet Silverado breakdowns

Wed, May 4 2016

These two trucks are famous for their ability to get the job done. Still, even the toughest vehicle can have mechanical problems at some time. What if we match the Dodge Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado head to head? Let's find out more about common repairs for each model. Also, learn some tricks to pay for car repairs. Clunky Steering Both Dodge and the Chevy owners sometimes notice bumping and clunking when steering. This might be more noticeable when driving over bumps. The cause is usually different in each truck though. In the Dodge Ram, clunky steering is more likely due to a defective lower ball joint. Replacement costs around $300 - $400, parts and labor. Clunky Chevy Silverado steering is probably a steering rack failure. This problem appears more often in trucks with over 90,000 miles. Silverado steering rack repair will run you up to $1,000 or more. Starting Woes For the Chevy Silverado with over 130,000 miles, you might notice trouble starting. This problem may appear occasionally at first, but it typically gets worse. Excluding a weak battery, the culprit is usually the starter. Replacement will cost you around $330 - $500. Of the total cost, $90 is for labor only. Now the Dodge Ram might make a ticking sound when starting, especially on models with over 94,500 miles. The noise often disappears after the engine warms up. These symptoms may indicate a broken exhaust manifold. Repair costs range from $800 - $900. Burning Oil & Gas Gauge On The Blink Sometimes, the Dodge Ram burns oil much faster than normal. In models with over 125,000 miles, this often points towards a leaky intake manifold gasket. A knocking sound may also appear with acceleration along with possible engine misfire. The cost to repair is around $200 - $300. The Chevy Silverado has its own surprises, especially when you've filled the gas tank but the gauge still reads low. Or the needle fluctuates widely from low to full while driving. In trucks with over 120,000 miles, it's likely due to a faulty fuel sensor. You might need a full fuel pump replacement, which can cost you up to $820, parts and labor. Water Inside And Poor Heat The Ram 1500 rear window has been known to leak. You might notice the back seat and floor wet after a rainstorm. This is more common in trucks with over 65,000 miles. Resealing the Ram 1500 rear window costs around $150 - $250.
