For auction is a 2006 Dodge Magnum V6 2.7L AS IS!  Overall the car is in excellent condition with no Engine, Transmission or other major issues.  I am the second owner and have had the car since 27,000 miles and have taken GREAT CARE of it.  There currently is 147,500 miles not he odometer.  I am only selling the car due to a family medical emergency and I am in need of money fast.  I do NOT want to sell it, I HAVE to sell it.  There is no visible rust based on my intense inspection of the car.  I inspected it top to bottom, left to right and everything between so as to be able to describe it to the buyer as best as I possibly can.  The engine runs excellent with NO leaks whatsoever.  The engine doesn't even move when the car is running in neutral, no shaking no vibrating.  Transmission switches gears just like it did when I first got it, smoothly and without problems, NO leaks whatsoever.  Brand new main serpentine belt was just installed in April 2014.  All major mechanical parts of the car are in complete working order with no need of repair accept a slight leak at the coupling in the exhaust which is an easy inexpensive fix.  There is absolutely NO SMELL of oil or antifreeze from the exhaust.  No leaks.  The car has been treated with great care, no smoking and it has always been kept spotless and all dashboard, doors and any vinyl interior has been constantly maintained with armor all protective wax.  The interior dash, steering wheel, drive stick, doors etc look as close to brand new as you can get.  This car also comes with an extra set of 4 tires that are in excellent shape with lots of tread.  They were only driven on for about 2 months.  Also included is an extra rear windshield.  Please see pictures. The outside body of the car has a couple cosmetic damage areas.  A slight small crack in the front left bottom corner of front bumper, I have no idea how it happened and I don't know when it happened as I have never seen it until I inspected it in order to properly describe it for this auction.  For all I know it was there when I bought it.  the rear bumper also has damage which can be repaired cosmetically.  There is NO damage to the frame and overall solidity of the car.  The windshield has a crack running on the left side of the windshield (does not impede vision for driving). The lock of the rear driver side door came off track and needs to be put back on for it to properly lock.  Front brakes will need to be replaced (car is definitely drivable). The automatic door unlock/lock needs new battery as well.  As of now I don't feel comfortable locking it as I am not sure if the battery will still work to unlock it.  I just don't have time or money to get a new battery with everything I have going on.  I have described this car to the best of my ability and please keep in mind when bidding that this is an auction for the car AS IS and I am selling it due to a family medical emergency so there will be absolutely NO RETURNS or REFUNDS for any reason whatsoever.  Feel Confident in bidding as I have described the good and bad both accurately and you can rest assured that this car is in GREAT working order.  I am an honest person and I thank you for your interest!  Shipping is COMPLETELY the responsibility of the buyer.  I will in no way assist in the delivery of this vehicle.  If you want to pick it up in person it is fine or if you want to have an outside shipping company pick it up that is fine also, completely up to you.  $2,000 Down Payment via paypal is offered, ENTIRE PAYMENT IN FULL IS DUE WITHIN 72hrs of the end of this auction.  Payment will be accepted via paypal, confirmed and cashed money order or cash only!

EV cost burden pushing automakers to their limits, says Stellantis' CEO Tavares

Wed, Dec 1 2021

DETROIT — Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said external pressure on automakers to quickly shift to electric vehicles potentially threatens jobs and vehicle quality as producers struggle with EVs' higher costs. Governments and investors want car manufacturers to speed up the transition to electric vehicles, but the costs are "beyond the limits" of what the auto industry can sustain, Tavares said in an interview at the Reuters Next conference released Wednesday. "What has been decided is to impose on the automotive industry electrification that brings 50% additional costs against a conventional vehicle," he said. "There is no way we can transfer 50% of additional costs to the final consumer because most parts of the middle class will not be able to pay." Automakers could charge higher prices and sell fewer cars, or accept lower profit margins, Tavares said. Those paths both lead to cutbacks. Union leaders in Europe and North America have warned tens of thousands of jobs could be lost. Automakers need time for testing and ensuring that new technology will work, Tavares said. Pushing to speed that process up "is just going to be counter productive. It will lead to quality problems. It will lead to all sorts of problems," he said. Tavares said Stellantis is aiming to avoid cuts by boosting productivity at a pace far faster than industry norm. "Over the next five years we have to digest 10% productivity a year ... in an industry which is used to delivering 2 to 3% productivity" improvement, he said. "The future will tell us who is going to be able to digest this, and who will fail," Tavares said. "We are putting the industry on the limits." Electric vehicle costs are expected to fall, and analysts project that battery electric vehicles and combustion vehicles could reach cost parity during the second half of this decade. Like other automakers that earn profits from combustion vehicles, Stellantis is under pressure from both establishment automakers such as GM, Ford, VW and Hyundai, as well as start-ups such as Tesla and Rivian. The latter electric vehicle companies are far smaller in terms of vehicle sales and employment. But investors have given Tesla and Rivian higher market valuations than the owner of the highly profitable Jeep and Ram brands. That investor pressure is compounded by government policies aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The European Union, California and other jurisdictions have set goals to end sales of combustion vehicles by 2035.

Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.

This or That: 2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10 vs. 2005 Subaru WRX STI [w/poll]

Thu, May 7 2015

Some cars, due to ultimate desirability, particular rareness, or spectacular performance/prestige eventually become collectible. It's darn near impossible to know which ones will make it into the rarefied stratosphere of collectibility – why is a late 1960s AMC AMX so affordable these days, whereas prices for late '70s Pontiac Trans Ams are soaring? – but there are some useful indicators to keep tabs on. We're not exactly experts on investing, but we do know cars. As such, we've decided to take our non-expertise on one hand, combine it in the other with our knowledge of all things automotive, wad it up, throw it out and ask for your forgiveness. Or something like that. I've challenged Senior Editor Seyth Miersma to choose a car he thinks will become a future collector's item that's not more than 10 years old, and for no more than $25,000. I've done the same, and we vigorously argued for and against each other's picks. I feel good about my choice, but I don't have the best track record in these contests (I've lost three times, won twice, but they've all been pretty close), so, while I'm not going to beg (please vote for me!), I do hope you find my argument convincing. But first, let's hear from Seyth: Miersma: Ten-years old or newer makes this challenging. At that age most vehicles feel like a plain old used car to me, few hit the "classic" button. But the Subaru WRX STI has always been a special car, and the 2005 cutoff year proves to be very attractive for the parameters of our contest. It's rare; with fewer than 5,000 STI models sold that model year. It's probably the best looking WRX STI ever sold in America; narrowly avoiding the dreadful "horse collar" front fascia. And it's got one of the more die-hard car-geek followings out there. For $25,000, you can also still find examples that have reasonable miles, are in good condition, and haven't all been molested by grown-up Initial D wannabes. With the street racers hacking up collectable examples every day, I like my odds for steep appreciation by way of conservation. I couldn't agree more. It really is difficult to predict what cars will catch the eye of collectors, and the WRX STI seems like a pretty good choice. But I think mine is even better, and I can't let him know that I'd love to park just such an STI in my very own garage. And so goes my argument: Korzeniewski: I like your choice as a driver, Seyth. I'm less convinced of its status as a sure-fire collectible.
