CES 2022 was huge for EVs | Autoblog Podcast #711

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder. CES took place this week, and there were some nice electric surprises from automakers, especially General Motors. John has been driving the Ram 1500 Power Wagon, as well as what seems to be its polar opposite, the electric Mini Cooper SE. Greg talks about the differences between the Acura TLX A-Spec long-termer (which is back in the shop) and the Type S loaner that's filling in for it. John's also got some interesting thoughts on leather interiors. Want a new 2017 Viper? You'd better call Gerry Wood Dodge

As unfortunate as the news may be, the Dodge Viper is entering its final year of production. Slow sales and increased safety regulations have finally killed Dodge's big, brutish, and beautiful supercar. It will be missed. According to Motor Authority, those looking to pick up one of the last remaining models will have to travel to Gerry Wood Dodge in Salisbury, North Carolina. The dealer has apparently managed to secure the final allocation of cars for itself. All 135 or so remaining cars will be sold exclusively through Gerry Wood Dodge. While Dodge has already sold out of the limited-edition 2017 models, Gerry Wood Dodge put a team together to research and create their own unofficial limited-edition cars. These will be ordered in specific and unique color and option combinations. Dodge offers more than 8,000 colors for the Viper, so picking out a few unused shades couldn't have been too difficult. While these aren't official, it should provide some bragging rights to owners who manage to secure one of the special cars. Despite the exclusivity and hoarding the final few vehicles, Gerry Wood Dodge doesn't plan to add a dealer markup to the car. Travis Pastrana signs with Dodge for another year, brings partner Bryce Menzies [w/video]

Dodge and SRT Motorsports announced that the Dodge Dart will be returning for its sophomore season of the Global Rallycross Championship with a two-car team fielded by Pastrana Racing. Travis Pastrana drove his GRC Dart to victory lane in the fourth race of the car's inaugural season, and his race team is looking for even more success with the addition of off-road racer Bryce Menzies behind the wheel of the second car.
The 2013 GRC season kicks off on April 21 in Brazil with plenty of dirt-spewing, ramp-jumping action. Scroll down for a video from the cars' main sponsor, Red Bull, and a press release from Chrysler.
