1999 Dodge Grand Caravan Le Mini Passenger Van 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland, United States
I recently purchased this 1999 Grand Caravan from the DC government. (hence the writing in the pictures, if more are needed just ask) I intended to give this van to my nephew who is a few weeks away from getting his licence. I wanted the van for my nephew for three reasons, low miles, was a government vehicle so you know it was maintained, and finally because what better way to slow down a 17 year-old boy than to stick him in a mom-mobile. Well when I went to give him the van he gave me a giant FU and I'm not driving that thing. So now i am stuck with a van and would like to recoup my money.
So now a little bit about the van. As i said earlier the van was used by the District of Columbia government. I know that it was used in some capacity in the public school system, what exactly for I am not sure. The van overall looks pretty decent the paint job is pretty good, with the exception of a few spots where decals were removed. There are a stickers that were placed on the front and back windows. Beyond the decals there is no body damage beyond minor smudges and scratches, and no rust. The frame looks good too, I would assume the van was stored in a garage. Now to the interior the seats are in great condition. The floors and carpet have a stains from mud and spilled beverages. I would almost guarantee 70 percent of them would come out with a good steam clean. (I have no problem doing it if is a deal breaker) the dash board looks good, one sticker is on passenger side over air bag. (this could also be removed) The van runs really well and drives really nice. . . for a minivan, it is not a sports car. Overall this seems to be a great mini van, I mean the van is 15 years old and only has 54,000 miles. Since I have purchased the car i put in a front drivers side wheel bearing. If your looking for a dependable used family vehicle and your on a budget, this is the van for you. No your not going to pick up 22 year-old females in it, but you will be able to safely get your family around in a low mileage dependable van. If you have any questions or want to come see the van call me anytime. Steve 443-630-1242 |

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
'Baby Driver' is a car chase movie set to music
Mon, Mar 13 2017The Fate of the Furious is certainly the 6,000-pound SUV in the garage of automotive movies, but that doesn't mean gearheads are starved for options. The upcoming film Baby Driver looks to be a winner for car guys, featuring exciting chases with cars including a "hawk-eye" Impreza WRX, a Dodge Challenger, and a 1980s Chevy Caprice. The movie is written and directed by Edgar Wright, whom you may know as the man behind movies such as Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. And based on the two trailers released so far, seen above and below, it's about a young man by the name of Baby, who is a getaway driver for criminals. He's apparently the best in the business, and the secret to his success is the music he listens to while he's driving. He also wants out, but his boss, played by Kevin Spacey, has no intention of letting him go. Spacey is one of a number of major stars in the film, including Jamie Foxx and John Hamm. The driving action shown in the trailers definitely looks entertaining. The WRX is seen doing an array of drifts and J-turns. There is some driving precision on display here that wouldn't be out of place in a Gymkhana video. And it looks like Wright's attention to detail in his shots and transitions, as well as some solid comedy relief, are all going to be present. The film comes out this August. Dodge Viper ACR reportedly green lit [w/video]
Fri, Feb 6 2015The Dodge Viper might be getting a little more venomous in the near future thanks to a return of the performance-honed ACR trim. According to an anonymous source leaking the info to Allpar, the version would go into production in July as a 2016 model year vehicle. FCA US showed a concept for a future ACR (pictured above) at the 2014 SEMA Show that sported carbon fiber parts for the front splitter and dive planes, plus a picnic-table-sized rear wing. The body also received ducts at the rear to shoot cool air to the differential. A set of 15.4-inch carbon-ceramic brake rotors also brought things to a halt in a hurry. The company promised all the aero pieces were sculpted in the wind tunnel to give the coupe even more downforce. To shed weight, engineers chucked the radio, speakers, carpet and sound deadening out of the interior, and they replaced many bits with even more carbon fiber. All of the tweaks are necessary because the ACR moniker carries serious cachet for the Viper at the track, especially at the Nurburgring. One reportedly did a 7:22 lap around the 'Ring in 2008, and another improved that further to 7:12 in 2011. Autoblog reached out to FCA US for comment about the possibility for the hotter Viper, but the company wasn't willing to comment about any possible, future projects. Related Video:
