2002 Dodge Durango Sport 2WD 4.7L V8 – NO RESERVE

VIN: 1B4HR38N72F124516

Purchased used in March 2005, I am second owner. Never been involved in any accident

Facts:

·         220400 miles

·         5-speed automatic transmission

·         3.55:1 ratio axle

·         Recent oil & oil filter replacement, all drive train fluids flushed and topped off

·         Battery replaced May, 2010

·         Have receipts for significant repairs

·         Clear title in hand

Accessory I have added:

·         Class II trailer hitch receiver – ball mount and ball not included

Honest description of vehicle condition and problems:

·         Drive train – engine, transmission and rear axle operate perfectly, and have no leaks.  The power steering rack & pinion unit has a small leak.  The “Check Engine” warning light is clear; the Durango will easily pass the North Carolina State Vehicle Inspection.

·         Tires – size is 31x10.5x15 mounted on factory alloy wheels.  20% tread remaining; they will need to be replaced in about 5000 miles.  Brake pads have 50% life remaining.  Spare tire is missing, but have jack and lug wrench.

·         Body – No accidents or wrecks.  No rust, has only four dime size dents; one in the driver’s door, one in the right side rocker panel, and two in the rear hatch door.  Scratches and some paint rubbed off both front and rear bumpers (see photos); otherwise paint is in good shape.  Paint color is Light Almond Pearl Metallic Clearcoat.  No scratches, chips or cracks in any of the glass.

·         Interior – Color is Dark Slate Gray, The fabric upholstery is well worn.  Driver’s seat upholstery has a 2” hole worn through to the foam near the lower seat belt bracket (see photo).  The back seat is stained.  No 3rd-row seat.  No floor mats. The center console lid hinge is broken. Gauges and lamps work well.  The heater works well.  The air conditioning works well too, but the evaporator drain line is either clogged or cracked, because water sometimes collects on the passenger side floor inside the vehicle.  Radio, antenna and overhead speakers are missing.  Have two sets of keys but no remote entry key fobs.  Owner’s manual is missing.

The Durango is located in Denver, North Carolina (about 12 miles west of Mooresville and about 30 miles north of Charlotte) and is available for inspection and test drive right now. Please call 704-489-0931 for directions.  I will be happy to answer any questions you have, but please call me before bidding.  I would appreciate, if you should win the auction, you do not decline to complete the purchase because there was something you did not know about the SUV.

The Durango is currently registered and titled in Virginia and it has Virginia license plates on it.  If the Durango were to return to Virginia, the registration and safety inspection are good through February 2014.  The title is clear and ready to sign.  This is a “no reserve” auction and the Durango will be sold to the highest bidder.

Fiat-Chrysler shows its SEMA lineup

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already previewed its 2014 SEMA show lineup with some slick renders. Now, the automaker has finally showed us the actual cars, and among the group there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Dodge is really showing off its muscle at this year's show with four concepts that all pump up the power of the brand's models. Perhaps most interesting among them is the Challenger T/A Concept (pictured above) in striking Sublime Green and matte black. It's meant to resemble the classic Trans Am racer from the '70s. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter V8, and to fit the vintage style there's a pistol-grip gearshift inside.
The Charger R/T also gets some attention with the Mopar concept that shows off what FCA's aftermarket performance arm can do. Mods include an updated body kit, cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter V8 and a coil-over suspension kit. Beyond that, the Dart R/T Concept looks a lot meaner with a black hood with duct work that leads straight to the air intake. The rest of the compact sedan is dolled up in O-So-Orange paint and is fitted with upgrades to improve handling like a coil-over suspension and big brake kit from the Mopar catalog.

Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power

Tue, 21 May 2013

A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.

It ain't easy keeping a Hellcat steady at 170 mph on ice

Mon, Mar 28 2016

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat you see hit the ice at Arsunda Speed Weekend in Sweden, over two hours north of Stockholm. It's said to be bone stock, save for the studded tires that help it grip on ice. But it apparently takes more than some steel studs and a lead foot to keep it pointed the right way. Just look at how much driver Alx Danielsson has to saw at the wheel to keep the Hellcat from veering off course. Fortunately he seems to have the chops to do so, being not only a native of Sweden (and therefor imbued from birth with otherworldly abilities to drive on ice) but also having won the highly competitive Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship back in 2006. In the end Danielsson hit a top speed in excess of 170 miles per hour, touted as some sort of record, however unofficial (and specific to Dodge Challengers). That's a fair bit shy of the 205 mph that Bentley achieved in the Continental Supersports, but while that model had slightly less power than the Hellcat, it did have the benefit of all-wheel drive – something that could make all the difference in these kinds of slippery conditions.
