68 Dodge Dart V8 Mopar: Not A Hemi! Great For Gts Clone on 2040-cars
Delafield, Wisconsin, United States
NO RESERVE!!!
This is a super clean 68 dart 2 door hard top 318 automatic. Perfect start for your hemi-dart clone or your big block GTS clone. It starts, runs and drives great. I purchased with the intention to turn it into an autocross car, but have too many other projects. I will do my best to describe this car as accurately as possible. While the car is super clean, it IS NOT a show car. This is 100% a driver car. Chrome is decent but does have some pitting. The car is original in all ways. It still has the bone stock 318 and the high performance 2 barrel carb... LOL. It drives straight, stops decent, heater works, the AC turns on and blows, but there is no cold air. As best as I can tell, the system needs a charge. No rust underneath, floor pans are solid. Trunk is solid. Still has the original bumper jack. The car is so clean, I can't imagine there are actually 86,000 miles on it, but thats what the odometer says. The car has been re-painted the original dark blue. I don't know for sure when, but it looks like a 15-20 year old paint job. The car has an open differential in it and it is NOT an 8 3/4. Finally I just replaced the rear brakes. Completely new pads, wheel cylinders, drums and wheel kit. Now for the not so nice.... Interior is dirty. Front seat is torn in several places. There is an oil leak, it appears to be a rear main. There is a small dent/ding on the passenger side rear fender. There is a slight exhaust leak right where the two exhaust manifold pipes merge into 1 collector. Its not major, but it is there. The car could use a slight tune up. I never took the carb apart and I suspect it could use a good cleaning. It has a slight bog right as you press the gas. That being said, I drove it all this summer and just started the car today after sitting for the last month or so. it starts fine, idles nice and drives down the road with no problems. You could easily buy the car and drive it home if you want. This is the perfect POWER TOUR car. I REPEAT.. NO RESERVE AUCTION - HIGH BIDDER WINS THIS CAR Details: I make no warranty on the car. It is sold by me, (a private seller) as is. I live near Milwaukee, WI. Once I have received payment in full, I will load on an open trailer and deliver up to 100 miles from zip code 53018 for $200. I will also help deliver the car to a transporter of your choice, free of charge within 30 miles of 53018. I will not ship your car, I will not deliver the car further than 100 miles from 53018. It is your responsibility to get the car home. I'm simply willing to help out. Finally: I have 100% positive feedback. I will do whatever I can to make this a 100% positive transaction for you. There is no funny business here. No phantom bids, just a no reserve auction to buy a very nice car. Buying a car online takes trust and lots of communication. I will provide both. I encourage you to stop by and see the car, ask questions or give me a call. Send me an email, with your name/phone I will happily call you back. Please no tire kickers.. no low ball offers.. The car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells. I have a clear Wisconsin Title with no loan. I will hand you the title and keys to the car once I receive the full purchase price. My preference is cash or money transfer. I will not accept any personal checks. $500 is due immediately upon winning bid. We will settle the remaining balance when you pick the car up. Thanks for looking - Rob |

NHTSA closes investigation on 4.7M FCA power modules, no recall
Thu, Jul 30 2015FCA US hasn't had the best time with recalls as of late. Not only did the company recently agree to greater safety oversight and paid $105 million to the government, that came just days after hacking fears prompted a 1.4-million model recall campaign. However, a recent decision to close an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration means that the automaker doesn't have to worry about another major recall possibly affecting 4.7 million vehicles, according to the agency's report (as a PDF). Last September, the Center for Auto Safety petitioned NHTSA to investigate an alleged problem with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on these FCA US models. The group claimed that a fault with the component could cause a variety of maladies, including stalls, not starting, catching fire, unintended acceleration, and airbag non-deployment. At the time, it also submitted 70 cases where this had reportedly happened. According to NHTSA, "no valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components." The agency did find signs of an issue with the fuel pump relay in some Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos, but FCA US issued recalls for the problem in September 2014 and February 2015. Without anything else to go on, the Feds don't think it's worth investigating this topic any more.
2016 Dodge Viper ACR priced from $117,895
Tue, May 12 2015Fancy getting your hands on the all-new Dodge Viper ACR? Prepare to shell out at least $117,895, not counting destination or gas-guzzler tax. Those two add $1,995 and $2,100, respectively, for an out-the-door price of $121,990. That's $32,900 more than a base 2015 Viper, or the equivalent of a Challenger with a few options. As we explained previously, the ACR model doesn't do much for outright power – the 8.4-liter V10 offers up only five more ponies than before – but it does add suspension and aerodynamic upgrades that make this particular Viper far more potent on the track. The order books are officially open for the ACR, so if you've got the coin, get in touch with your local dealer. Until then, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the ACR's pricing. Would you shell out $118,000 for the ultimate Viper? DODGE OPENS ORDER BANKS FOR NEW 2016 DODGE VIPER ACR The fastest street-legal Viper track car ever offers a tremendous value for performance May 12, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Viper enthusiasts with the need for ultimate handling, performance and road course domination, as well as the ability to drive their Viper home from the track, can now place their orders for the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever. The Dodge brand has announced pricing and opened order banks for the recently introduced 2016 Dodge Viper ACR. Unveiled last week at the revamped Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, the American Club Racer model of the iconic, hand-built American supercar will have a starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $117,895 (excluding destination and gas guzzler tax). "Bringing our street-legal Dodge Viper ACR back is going to arm our track enthusiasts with the ultimate weapon to dominate road courses across the country," said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO - Dodge and SRT Brands, FCA - North America. "This is without a doubt the best Viper ACR ever. The latest in aerodynamic, braking and tire technology will ensure its legendary performance reputation around the world." Originally introduced in 1999 and last available for the 2010 model year, the Viper ACR has a long-standing legacy as the ultimate street-legal track car for club racing. The new 2016 model honors that performance legacy with significant aerodynamic and suspension upgrades, new Carbon Ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers and high-performance tires specifically designed for ACR.
Dodge hoping Fast & Furious appearance gives Dart a sales jolt [w/video]
Tue, 28 May 2013According to Automotive News, Chrysler is hoping Fast & Furious 6 will be kind to the Dodge Dart. While the compact sedan doesn't actually show up in the film, Dodge has partnered up with the movie franchise for a new ad featuring the Dart.
Chrysler hasn't exactly seen the high sales numbers it was originally hoping for with the new sedan, thanks in part to a couple of missteps. For starters, most early-production vehicles were only offered with a manual transmission. Analysts believe Chrysler squandered around 95 percent of potential Dart sales because automatic transmission options weren't immediately available.
Right now, the Dodge Dart rakes 19th among compact cars, pulling down 31,064 sales through April. Last month was the company's strongest, with 8,099 units moving off of dealer lots. Unfortunately, the model has also been handicapped by its older sister, the Avenger. With Chrysler throwing heavy incentives at the aging sedan, many consumers have taken advantage of a better deal with the slightly larger, more powerful Avenger.
