This is a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport, with a 360 4 barrel V8 engine, 3 speed 727 automatic transmission, and a 3.55 geared 8 1/4 rear axle. The car has power steering, and front Disc brakes. Wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust II, in 15X7 front, and 16X8 rear.... with Falken tires in 225/60/15 front, and 255/50/16 rear, with about 75% tread life left.

The paint is a 2 stage base coat Omni, in B-5 Blue, with Demon style side stripes, and blacked out grill and tail lamp panel.

The engine is a 360cid from a 1976 Dodge truck. It was installed with approx 58,000 miles by the previous owner. The car's odometer currently reads 94,721. The heads were rebuilt prior to the engine install, and were milled .030 to raise compression to about 8.5:1. The engine features an Edelbrock performer intake manifold, Holley 750 vacuum secondary carburetor, Edelbrock chrome air cleaner with a K&N Filter, and Mickey Thompson valve Covers. The exhaust consists of  1 5/8” Hedman headers, with Flowmaster mufflers, and tail pipes. The Power Steering box is new.

The Transmission is a 727 automatic, with a stage 1 shift kit. The rear axle is an 8 1/4 , with 3.55 gears, and a rebuilt Sure Grip differential.

The car idles and drives very well. It's got a lot of low end torque, and has a very nice (mean) sounding idle. The front engine harness, as well as rear tail lamp harness, are both new. The fuel gauge is intermittently erratic, but a new (still in the box) dash wire harness is also included with the sale of the car. The heater does not work.

The stereo is by Sony, and features a fold down faceplate for access to an Ipod connection, and insertion of the Ipod itself. There is also a remote to operate the system.

This car looks amazing, and gets a lot of attention when driving around town. It's great for taking to car meets, and having weekend fun.

This car is sold AS IS, with no warranty expressed or implied. Payment must be made via certified bank check no more than 7 days from the close of the auction. Buyer responsible for shipping/transportation.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat en route to dealers

Sat, 15 Nov 2014

Get ready, world: The 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has officially been unleashed. But rather than just have the big coupes quietly arrive at dealers, Dodge has released this video, showing Hellcats loading up onto car carriers at Fiat-Chrysler's Brampton, Ontario plant. And yes, that is Mötley Crüe's "Kickstart My Heart" playing in the background. Of course.
This really is worth all the fanfare, though, considering Dodge will sell its ridiculously powerful, supercharged machine for just $59,995. And if the Challenger isn't quite up your alley, just remember, there's an equally powerful, 204-mph, four-door Charger Hellcat on the way...

Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power

Tue, 21 May 2013

A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.

Dodge idles Viper production again at Conner Avenue

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

You've got to hand it to Dodge for having the gumption to put the original Viper into production in the first place. It was, after all, much more of an emotional decision than a practical one, and a move which saw the first production V10 engine placed in a road car - long before the advent of the Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Porsche Carrera GT or Lexus LFA, not to mention the other Ford, BMW and Volkswagen Group models that used such engines.
It's now been 22 years since the first Viper entered production and the Viper still rolls on several generations later, but we're sad to say that courageous decision has not always been met with overwhelming sales success. In fact parent Chrysler was forced to idle the Conner Avenue plant where the Viper is made back in April due to slow sales. And while production resumed again as planned on June 23, it apparently didn't do the trick.
As a result, Chrysler corporate communications chief Shawn Morgan revealed to Autoblog that the assembly line has been shut down again for another two weeks. The line was up and running for nearly two full work weeks from June 23 until the holiday weekend that started on Thursday, July 3. But instead of coming back online today as planned, it's been idled again for the weeks of July 7 and 14. That means it will be July 21, at the earliest, before the serpentine supercars start slithering down the assembly line at Conner Avenue again. Once it does, however, production is set to resume at the same pace it was before the shutdown.
