1973 Dodge Dart Sport 360 5.9L V8

Beautifully Restored MOPAR- See Video Below

My brother and I restored this beautiful car, but now we need to sell it. Our loss is your gain. It is sitting at a friends shop so if you'd like to arrange a pre-buy/bid visit let me know. We were initially just going to repaint it, but took it down to just a shell, and couldn't justify putting crap back into it. The only thing we didn't replace was the dash. We did cover the dash.  I did update the gauge panel with new decals, and completely redid the gauge cluster. There are a few items we have for it that weren't installed for these pics which of course will come with the car; glovebox, new dash decal (the one I installed wasn't quite a match), and dome light cover.

Every bit of bodywork was done with either replacement metal or Tigerhair. we removed every piece of trim and refurbished or replaced. All new rubber on seals and such.  Bottom line, the only thing I would do to make this pristine would be to find a new dash for it since some retarded kid decided to cut the dash to install a radio.  Other than that it looks and runs amazing!

New Items in Motor:                                New Items Interior:                      New Items Misc:

1. Alternator                                             1. Carpet                                       1. Rally Sport Rims and Tires

2. Starter                                                   2. Headliner                                  2. Door, Windshield, and Rear Window Trim

3. Battery                                                  3. Dash cover                                3. Correct Emblems and Decals

4. Edelbrock 650 Carburetor                    4. Decals                                       4. Marker Lights

5. Edelbrock Intake Manifold                   5. Seals                                         5. Spoiler

6. Headers, Mufflers, and Pipes               6. upholstery (front and back)       6. Paint interior and Exterior

7. Valve Covers                                        7. Glove Box

Besides the new stuff, we also refurbished all of the other items like powder coating all the trim, and parts in the motor that take a beating.  Repainted the plastics and panels.  And just too much to list.  The bottom line is this car is a must have! If you're into MOPAR, or just classic cars, this was a great one to have as it was everyman's Dodge.  Sure the Duster (a Dart with a different nose) was great, but I honestly like the front end on this one better.  I'm not a fan of the flat nose look, but to each his own.

Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.

Chrysler recalling over 200k vehicles across its brands

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

With more than 200,000 units across six separate recalls and almost all of its brands, it appears that Chrysler has officially jumped headfirst into the recall pool this month. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued three official recalls for the automaker, and The Detroit News is reporting that the automaker itself has announced three more.
The biggest of the recalls applies to about 120,000 Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger and Chrysler 300 models for 2011 and 2012 due to faulty wiring harnesses for the seat-mounted side airbags, which could lead to these airbags not deploying in the event of a crash. A little more than 60,000 two-wheel-drive versions of the 2007-2008 Dodge Nitro and 2008 Jeep Liberty SUVs are being recalled due to a heat shield that could cause the driveshaft to break, which if that isn't bad on its own, could then hit underneath where the airbag sensor is mounted, causing the airbags to deploy. Wrapping up NHTSA's recall notices, about 20,000 Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass models for 2012 are also being recalled due to a problem with the fuel tank transfer tube that could lead to the vehicle stalling. The LX car recall campaign is going into effect this month, while the other two will start next month - all three notices are posted below.
In addition to the official NHTSA recalls, The Detroit News is also reporting that Chrysler is recalling more than 16,000 Ram trucks and a small number of Dodge Dart sedans. Around 6,500 2013 Ram 1500 trucks will be recalled due to an improper adjustment of the parking brake cable from the factory, while 7,000 Cummins-powered 2013 Ram Heavy Duty trucks are being recalled due to an engine cover that does not have as much heat resistance as it is supposed to. Finally, a total of 46 Dodge Dart sedans are being recalled due to a problem with the brake calipers and/or parking brake.

Chrysler recalling 2009-2010 Ram 1500, Dodge Dakota pickups over axle pinion nut

Mon, 08 Oct 2012

Chrysler is issuing a recall for the 2009 and 2010 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota pickup trucks due to improper installation of the rear axle pinion nut. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 44,300 trucks are affected by the recall, and there have been 12 confirmed incidents including one crash.
The issue on both trucks is that the pinion nut is loosening on some trucks due to a lack of thread adhesive, and it is causing the rear axle to lock up resulting in loss of vehicle control. NHTSA's recall notice says that eight incidents occurred at speeds over 35 miles per hour and most also exhibited driveshaft failures as well since the loss of the pinion nut would cause the gear to separate from the driveshaft. In one complaint, the driveshaft separated from the rear axle and punctured the gas tank.
Chrysler will begin sending out recall notices to affected owners in November, but scroll down to see the official NHTSA notice.
