1972 Dodge Dart Swinger Muscle Car , Mopar Extra Parts, Bonus Engine Radiator on 2040-cars
Boone, Colorado, United States
I have decided to let a few project cars go and keep one. This is a 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger. Vin calls for a 318 which is what it has in the car, but not sure if it is matching numbers. Found some numbers behind pump, but not sure if these are supposed to match or the casting numbers. I can do more checking and add to the auction if anyone can give me some direction. The 318 in the car is missing the intake and would likely need a rebuild. It does have some money invested in the pulley system (see photos). I do have another 318, 904 tranny an aluminum radiator that I may let go with the car if final price reaches a certain amount (I will post info towards the bottom). I believe the hood and/or grille was added from an earlier model, but I do not have the history. It has the hood scoops and the 340 emblem. I can add any information someone can give me on these cars over the next week. I know more about Dodge Chargers. The body looks solid on the car except for the small damage to the fender and a little lower quarter rust. The underside and trunk look solid. Has a spare and jack in the trunk. The interior would need some work as per photos ( dash has cracks, front and rear seat has some tears). I do have another top portion of the back seat that will go with the car and can be recovered. Car has no radiator in it now. The car has some nice mags and I have several other parts including shocks, brakes, some lines, mufflers, fan blade, new battery tray ect, per photos. This is a project car that you could do just about anything with at this point. Bonus: If the final price on the car is over $3,800 , I will include another 318 engine but will have to go off what I was told on the engine. I was told it ran good so they decided to add a new Melling mild cam and some new lifters. Was also told that it has a new timing chain and oil pump. As you can see from the photos, It has a newer (not sure if brand new) edelbrock carburetor. The engine itself can use some cleaning ect and was not completely rebuilt. I would also throw in a used 904 tranny(not rebuilt) and a Be cool aluminum radiator (was told it is worth approx. $500-600.) Radiator looks new, but has some storage wear. The last few pictures show the engine and radiator. Buyer to pay $500 deposit with paypal within 24 hours and the balance with cash/cashiers check within 5-7 days. Pick up only or you arrange shipping. The shipper would need to be able to take the extra engine/tranny if price is met. I am selling with no reserve and will list for 10 days to give you plenty of time to ask questions. |

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat #0001 raises $825,000 for charity
Sun, 28 Sep 2014$60,000 doesn't strike us as a lot to pay for a muscle car with 707 horsepower on tap. $825,000... now that's a different story. But, according to the official SRT blog, that's how much one generous and eager buyer paid for the privilege of getting his (or her) hands on the very first new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Decked out in Stryker Red paint that's usually reserved for the Viper, the supercharged Challenger bearing the VIN 0001 went up for auction at the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino in Las Vegas on Saturday under the auspices of Barrett-Jackson. By the time bidding ended, the gavel dropped at $825,000 - nearly 14 times the sticker price - 100 percent of which will benefit Opportunity Vehicle, a charity that aids the intellectually handicapped in the Las Vegas Area.
2014 Dodge Durango
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Say what you want about the Dodge Durango, but ever since it came on the scene in 1998, it has occupied its own niche in the SUV market - not too small, not too big, tough, able, not always the best on the road and not always the best off-road. If it were a football player, it would be a tight-end that can block and catch. If it were a hamburger - a double burger with cheese and bacon, but not the Whopper.
As part of a mid-cycle upgrade for what was already a very capable SUV that Chrysler introduced in 2011, and built on the same platform as the Mercedes GL-Class and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2014 Durango has gotten some refinements worth noting that have cleaned up its tailoring and toned up its body and powerplant. The result is an SUV that shows itself to be a very good value in a category full of sticker prices that can run away faster than a kid who's been told he has to take ballroom dancing lessons.
Chrysler executives showing us the new Durango made a special point to reiterate that the Dodge brand is not going away, as has been rumored after the company took the Ram and Viper - the cream of the brand - out from under the Dodge umbrella. Turns out Dodge has been the brand attracting the most young people (who knew?) and has a younger average age buyer than Honda. The Dodge brand historically has also attracted buyers who aren't exactly Phi-Beta Cappa, which some companies worry about. Chrysler not so much. Dodge buyers tend to be more the working, high-school-educated, community-college-educated backbone of the work force in America. If they keep coming to Dodge, the Durango is a pretty good piece of hardware to save up for.
