1971 Dodge Dart Swinger Panther Pink Fresh Restoration Mopar Demon Duster 340 on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
1971 Dodge Dart Swinger Panther Pink! Fresh Restoration! Up for you consideration is a very nice example of very cool car. This car was born as a slant six, automatic, grocery getter. That has now been taken care of! What we now have is a beautiful panther pink hot rod, ready to make people smile for years to come! Every single piece on the car has either been restored, or replaced with high quality parts. There have also been safety, and reliability items added to make it that much more enjoyable to own, and drive. Factory air conditioning is also present! To start, the body was completely disassembled and cleaned. The car was, and is, completely 100% rust free. All panels are solid as a rock, and original to the car. The body received very minimal body work to make it straight as an arrow. Once it was ready, it them received a very high quality two stage paint job. Three coats of base, and four coats of clear of high quality DuPont product. After the paint cured, it then receive a nice wet sand and buff, bringing the panther pink to life! Its stunning! The pictures do not do the car justice. We then applied the 340 hood treatment, and the bumble bee stripe around the rear. They really give the car a muscular look. Brand new weatherstrip was installed all around the car. The interior was next on the list to bring the car up to the highest standard. The interior received all new upholstery top to bottom. New seat upholstery, door panels, rear side panels, carpeting, and headliner. Looks better than new! The dash pad was redone exactly like the original and looks beautiful on the powder coated dash panel. All off the dash bezels were also redone at the same time. To add some muscle to the interior I installed a tuff grip steering wheel, along with the correct horn cap and adaptor. A brand new shifter boot and trim ring was also pit in to wrap around the 340 3 speed chrome shifter. You have to see it to believe it! To make the car stop and turn as good as it looks, the entire suspension, front to rear, has been rebuilt or replaced! Polyurethane bushings were installed to tighten up the suspension, and really give it a nice ride. All new ball joints, tie rods, idler arm give it a tight steering feel and make it a joy to carve the corners. New shocks were installed all around as well. This was the time to upgrade those weak front drum brakes. The large bolt pattern disc brakes were installed on the front, and the large 10x2.5" rear drums were added to the 8 3/4" heavy duty rear axle with Yukon axles and green bearings. The car stops like a new car. Also installed was the more modern master cylinder, and brand new brake lines. Nothing needs to be done except to drive it! The 318 under the hood has received some love. A Mopar Performance purple cam was added to give it a nice rumble at idle, and provide some good breathing for the Edelbrock Torker 340 intake, and NOS Carter 600 cfm carb. Hei ignition, one wire alternator, MSD plug wires, Edelbrock valve covers, and much more. No expense was spared with the exhaust system. TTI headers were installed, along with the full TTI exhaust system front to back! The car sounds amazing! Has a very nice rumble to it, but isn't annoyingly loud. The three speed manual transmission shifts nice and smooth with no grinding or any other issues. The flywheel has been resurfaced and a brand new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing were installed. Good to go for years to come! A new fuel tank and sending unit were installed as well. The exterior received a lot of added attention. Brand new AMD bumpers were installed front and rear. Brand new tail light, and park light lenses were also installed! An original set of hood pins were also added to give it that true muscle car vibe. A brand new vinyl top was installed, and all of the exterior trim was straightened and polished like new. A brand new windshield was also installed. To give the car a bit of a modern look I also put some nice wheels and tires on it. 18x7 on the front, and 18x8 on the rear really give it a nice look. As you can see, there were no short cuts taken building this beautiful car. It runs, drives, looks, and sounds, AMAZING!!! You will not be disappointed to show this car to your friends. I get thumbs up everywhere I take it. The girls really like the car too. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. There are a lot of things I have forgotten to add I'm sure. I can also provide many other photos on request. Thanks! And happy bidding!

What is the fastest car in the world in 2024?
Sat, Jun 15 2024It wasn't that long ago that the notion of reaching 200 miles per hour in a car, on a road, seemed basically impossible. As you likely know by now, that time has passed. And once that threshold was crossed, the automotive world immediately began eying the next triple-digit benchmark: 300 miles per hour. It may have taken a little while, but the 300-mph line has been crossed, and some cars have moved well past that seemingly insane speed number. While some of these speeds have been achieved in simulations (including the fastest car listed below), there's little doubt that a driver with nerves of steel and a heavy right foot could indeed push several automobiles up to 300 miles per hour and beyond. Interestingly, it’s not just one car or automaker in the 300-mph club, as a handful of models have earned a place (sometimes claimed but not yet demonstrated) on the leaderboard. The fastest car in the world is: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (330 MPH) That title goes to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which recorded a staggering 330 mph top speed earlier in 2023. The carÂ’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 lays down 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, which plays a significant role in delivering that speed, but KoenigseggÂ’s engineers have given the car a lot more than mind-blowing power. The Jesko Absolut has a super-slippery 0.278 drag coefficient and a nine-speed transmission that shifts so quickly itÂ’s almost imperceptible. Koenigsegg calls it a Light Speed Transmission (LST), saying its shifts happen at almost light speed. While that might be a slight exaggeration, the gearbox is impressive, bringing several wet multi-disc clutches and a super lightweight construction. As Koenigsegg says, "the Jesko Absolut is destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it." How expensive is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut? If you were reading that and wondering how much the fastest car in the world costs, the price tag is just another dizzying number on the Jesko Absolut's spec sheet. All 125 Absolut cars offered sold out at a price of almost $3 million. Of course, being able to afford the Koenigsegg is just the first step in realizing its full potential. There are very few places on the map that can support a 300-plus-mph speed run, and the locations that do are not conveniently located.
Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV
Fri, 29 Aug 2014This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.
We drive the cars of Furious 7... in Forza Horizon 2 [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015On March 27, Turn 10 Studios, the folks behind the Forza Motorsport series, and Universal Pictures, the studio responsible for the Fast and Furious franchise, gave us a match made in heaven, announcing a "standalone expansion" featuring the two franchises. Called Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious, it features the cars from the latest film installment, unique missions and the voice-acting of Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, who plays tech guru Tej Parker on camera. A Fast and Furious video game? Seems like a no brainer. It gets better. Rather than limiting the Fast and Furious Edition cars to the expansion game, Turn 10 made them available through one of their (some may say notorious) downloadable content packages. Eight of the expansion's 11 cars were made available for just $4.99 (the only cars that weren't included were the Fast and Furious Edition Nissan GT-R, while the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and McLaren P1 are already available in-game). What's cool ais that the cars featured in both games are visually identical to the vehicles driven by the stars of Furious 7. Each in-game car has an on-screen parallel that plays a role in advancing the film's story. Considering that we're unlikely to score seat time in Dominic Toretto's real Dodge Charger, then, we figured we'd take to the game and test the car in the digital realm. We've got nine little cluster reviews, covering the cars both in the game and how they appear in the movies. And don't worry, there are no major spoilers here. Click on for the cars of Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious. 1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast and Furious Edition Supercharged 7.2L V8 / 900 HP / 663 LB-FT The one vehicle that is mandatory in a Fast and Furious video game, Dom's hot-rodded 1970 Dodge Charger, is as much a character in the films as its driver. Furious 7 marks the fourth appearance of this Mopar beast in the series. Not surprisingly it's a handful to drive, wildly quick and with a four-speed transmission packed full of very tall gears. But beyond that, it's arguably the coolest of the FF Edition cars. This black beauty is exactly as it appears in the latest installment of the film, with the video game version featuring intricate little details, like the moving parts on the BDS supercharger. It's an iconic car, and it's treated as such in the game.
