1970 Dodge Dart Swinger
340, 4-speed
Original Motor/Transmission/Interior/Carpet/Windows/Half of exhaust/Hoses/Rally Wheels/trunk mat/jack, and get this, the original spare tire which has never been used.
This is the A body you have been waiting for!

I am the documented third owner of this car. I have the original title, fender tag (on car), and two build sheets. But here is something amazing, the two build sheets have the same VIN number but are different! One build sheet has the car being built as a FLEET vehicle while the second has it being built as the 340 Swinger.

Highly unusual and rare color combination of TX9 Black exterior and F8 and EF8 Green interior. This car is quite possibly the only car ever ordered with these specs. If it matters to you, Galen Govier decoded and documented the car.

A few items currently on car that are not original are; correct 1970 woodgrain steering wheel (I have original Green Steering Wheel), shift knob (I have original shift knob), brake and clutch pedals (I have both originals), Bias Ply tires and dog dish caps (I have original rally wheels), "Direct Connection" valve covers (I have the original valve covers). The car was painted in 2000. It still looks awesome and the car is straight as an arrow. There is one very small bit of bubbling at the very bottom corner of the passenger rocker panel. I have put a "ghost" flat black Bumblebee stripe on the car (because I like the way it looks). All of the above mentioned original parts will be included in the sale. In photos, car has an old air filter housing, car now has the original air cleaner housing and 340 pie tin.

     This is a D21/D57/D91 A833, 4-speed, 3.91, Sure Grip axle car!

I have put a great deal of money into maintaining this vehicle. It has never seen rain or snow while I have owned it. In winter it is stored under cover in a dry garage. Car will come with all receipts for work done and items purchased.

It pains me greatly to sell this car, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Don't let this car get away!

Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. This car is used, and comes with NO warranty or guarantees.
I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability, it is being sold in used, as-is condition. Feel free to stop in and see the car for yourself. I live about 15 minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport.
I have the car advertised locally and can remove it from this listing at any time. Please, please, please,  IF YOU BID AND WIN THIS CAR, PLEASE HAVE THE FUNDS TO FOLLOW THROUGH AND BUY IT. The car will not be released until funds have cleared. Please feel free to contact me by the "ask seller a question" feature.

Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat en route to dealers

Sat, 15 Nov 2014

Get ready, world: The 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has officially been unleashed. But rather than just have the big coupes quietly arrive at dealers, Dodge has released this video, showing Hellcats loading up onto car carriers at Fiat-Chrysler's Brampton, Ontario plant. And yes, that is Mötley Crüe's "Kickstart My Heart" playing in the background. Of course.
This really is worth all the fanfare, though, considering Dodge will sell its ridiculously powerful, supercharged machine for just $59,995. And if the Challenger isn't quite up your alley, just remember, there's an equally powerful, 204-mph, four-door Charger Hellcat on the way...
