Up for auction is a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger, 2-door hardtop sports coupe. NO RESERVE!! Great project car for restoration, street machine, Pro-touring, or Drag race car. This car needs a complete restoration. It was originally a 340 V-8 with automatic transmission with column shift. There is no engine or transmission included with this car. The body has some rust. It will need front and rear floor pans. The unibody structure and frame rails appear to be solid and have no apparent collision damage. The doors are solid. Fenders are useable, bot have some rust on lower rear corners and some dents that will need straightening. Quarter panels are original and have some rust damage and some collision damage. The car originally had a vinyl top and there is rust damage where the roof and quarter panel seams meet. There is some rust damage in the trunk floor where the spare tire goes. Gas tank needs replaced. All glass is in the car. The windshield has a wiper mark on it. There are no seats or any other interior items. There are no gauges, instrument panel, or radio. If you don't see it in the pictures, I don't have it. The car has an Illinois Salvage title. Please check with the DMV in your state to see if you can purchase this car, before you bid on it. Car is being sold "As Is" with NO warranty. I have the car advertised locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you have any questions, please ask. Dodge bringing revamped Challenger, Charger to Big Apple
Mon, 07 Apr 2014The 2014 New York Auto Show will be a big one for Dodge, as the brand has announced that refreshed versions of the 2015 Challenger and 2015 Charger will debut at the show. This is a particularly big deal for the two-door Challenger which, visually, has remained unchanged since is burst back onto the scene in 2008 and helped reignite the muscle car wars.
As a sort of hint, this announcement was accompanied by the picture you see above - the Super Bee logo in the Challenger's new instrument cluster. According to Dodge, the New York debut of a new "powertrain combination" - possibly with the high-output Hellcat V8 - will leave enthusiasts "abuzz."
As for the Charger, Dodge is promising a full redesign that should be a significant departure from the blunt, angry looks of the current model. At this point, there's no indication that the Challenger's new powertrain could be fitted to the Charger, although considering how mechanically similar these two vehicles have been, it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility.
2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit is ready to serve and protect
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Okay speed freaks, it's time to update your cheat sheet of police headlights, as Dodge has just unveiled the new 2015 Charger sedan's police variant, the Pursuit.
Like previous Charger Pursuits, the 2015 model is based on a modified version of the civilian sedan, featuring the same basic batch of mechanicals and sheetmetal, while adding a number of items specific to the five-oh.
For 2015, cops can select from the same 3.6-ltier V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 available to the civilian population, with former turning out 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and the latter packing 370 ponies and 390 lb-ft. Even loaded down with equipment, Dodge claims the Hemi-powered cop car can hit 60 miles per hour in under six seconds, while both engines are expected return 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode). Rear-wheel drive is standard with both engines, while V8 Pursuits can be fitted with all-wheel drive.
Chrysler recalling 49K Chargers for headlight components
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Chrysler has issued a recall for about 49,375 2011 and 2012 Dodge Chargers with halogen headlamps due to a problem with the lights. The automaker says that there could be an issue with the jumper harness and other related components.
The automaker says that 43,450 cars are affected in the US, 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico and 2,700 outside of North America. The vehicles will have their headlight assemblies, including the jumper harnesses and bulbs, inspected and potentially replaced. Dodge says that its engineers investigated reports of that were similar to what was found when it recalled about 10,000 police Chargers in 2012 for overheating light components. There have been no injuries or accidents related to fault, according to Chrysler.
The automaker will be in contact with affected owners, and schedule the service. Naturally, any repairs will be free of charge. Scroll down for the company's full announcement.
