This is an original 340 Dart GT with A/C P/S P/B. All Vins, and stamps in rad support and body panels are present. I know us mopar guys like to know what they are getting so I decoded the fender tag for you at the bottom..

We have had this dart for a few years. It was complete and we have not done much to it. The body is very straight and solid. I don’t see any notable issues with the paint. All the body and door gaps are very even and look good. The glass all around this car is in excellent condition. One of the notable things that could be addressed are the GTS and 340 emblems on the hood and fenders. I would say they are good enough, and may not have been noticed, yet they are not perfect.  The door jambs are all nice and show no issues.  The bumpers are in nice shape and dont have an bends or issues. I would say a 9/10. The wheels and tires look great and have no issues at all.

The interior is beautiful, The door panels, seats, and headliner have no issues what so ever. The seats were rebuilt with much nicer foam and you can tell. They are comfortable. Seat belts are all aftermarket and matching and look nice. The dash and gauges are all in nice shape. The windows all go up and down smoothly.

The engine and trans feel good. Although this isn’t a ‘Fast” car, it feels great. It really is a joy to drive. There is no fuss what so ever. The transmission goes through all gears seamlessly.  It really has been a car that I don’t hesitate to jump in and drive without thinking twice.  The A/C is cold and the blower is strong. The brakes feel good and the car stops great. The power steering is smooth and makes the car very easy to drive.  The trunk is very solid all the way around. The spare tire and jack are all mounted.  All of the lights and gauges work as they should. The radio even works.  Tach in the center console works and looks very good!

This is a great car for a first classic car or a weekend car that you will actually not worry about and be able to drive every time.

The car has been great to us and I know it won’t disappoint its new owner. I welcome and encourage you to come see the car before you bid. Please ask any questions you would like to have answered.

Please don’t bid unless your ready to win this auction.

Rare Dodge Shelby Dakota is a very '80s sport truck

Fri, Jun 3 2016

The late-great Carroll Shelby built an incredibly successful career of making all sorts of cars faster, more often than not, with a bigger or more potent engine under the hood. The icons are well known—legends like the Shelby Cobra, GT350 Mustang, and the big GT500. But by the 1980s, Shelby was plying his trade over at Chrysler, at the behest of chairman Lee Iacocca, churning out special editions like the Dodge Shelby Charger, zippy CSX, rorty GLHS, and this—the 1989 Shelby Dakota muscle truck. 1,500 of these racy pickups were built for just one year and a whole two-and-a-half decades later they still turn heads. This one especially. The spotless pickup recently turned up for sale online , and its odometer reads a claimed 25,307 miles. So what makes these rarified work trucks special? As with most Shelbys, it starts under the hood. Up until 1989, the standard Dodge Dakota pickups were offered in only four-cylinder and V6 variants. But Dodge (and Shelby) wanted more, so the larger 5.2-liter Magnum V8 from Dodge's full-size pickup was shoehorned into the midsize Dakota, albeit not effortlessly. To fit, Dodge had to swap the V8's belt-driven fan for an electric unit mounted in front of the radiator. That did the trick, as well as earned the V8 a few extra ponies, pushing the special Dakota up to 175 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. That performance may sound paltry by today's standards, but in 1989 it was seen as quite sporty, and netted a zero to 60 mph dash in 8.5 seconds. A four-speed automatic with lockup torque converter transmitted that power to the rear wheels. Additional Shelby performance goodies included a limited-slip differential, transmission cooler, along with a host of eye-catching body mods, including a unique air dam and bumpers, Shelby floor mats, monogramed seats and door panels, a "CS" steering wheel, 15-spoke hollow alloy wheels, and shouty body graphics. While the Shelby Dakota didn't return for 1990, its V8 legacy did continue, and in 1991 the 5.2-liter eight-cylinder became an option on new Dakotas. Of the 1,500 Shelby Dakota pickups built, 860 were dressed in red while a rarer 640 came adorned in Bright White. This '89 is said to be #245 of those white trucks, sold new to its original (and sole) owner in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, for $15,985 (the Shelby package cost $3,933 in its day). Currently, it's demanding bids north of $10,000 for its low-mileage originality. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.

Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.

We spent a day with a Dodge Charger that looks like a Stormtrooper helmet and made a few videos. In this one, the Charger meets the car wash. May the force be with the dryer. Read about the car and watch the rest of the videos here.
