I am selling my 68 Dodge dart that I have been working on for last 5 years. It started life as a California 6cly car and was going to be turned into a Hemi dart. So the car was stripped down , the rear wheels wells have been radius like a 68 Hurst Hemi Dart, the body was smoothed and painted with PPG Viper Red. It has new bumpers, weather striping, taillight lens, marker lights, windshield, all bright parts polished and cleaned or replaced. Underneath front suspension all rebuilt, new torsion bars, in the rear it has new super stock shocks, new super stock leaf springs. The front brakes are b-body disc brakes with new bearings, rotors, calipers and pads. Rear brakes are the 11 x 2 inch drums used on the original hemi darts, with all new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders. It has the 8 3/4 rear end with the 489 center section with new 391 gears and new possi unit, also has custom axles. The trans is a rebuilt 727 automatic with manual shift body, 2800 stall converter and new Cheetah Turbo Action shifter. Money did not allow for a hemi so it has a rebuilt healthy but streetable 440 with a mopar hydraulic cam, Edlebrock intake, 750 Holley carb, TCI headers, new Griffan aluminum radiator, electric fuel pump, Mallory ignition. The interior is all new, seats , headliner and carpet. Gauges have been rebuilt and lights, turn signals, brake lights all work. This is a really nice car, ultra clean and ready to enjoy. I have invested a ton of money and realize I won't recoup most of it. Here is your chance to step into a complete car for a fraction of the cost to build it.

Aficionauto drives Vin Diesel's fast and furious 1970 Dodge Charger

The Aficionauto host Christopher Rutkowski has a real passion for original and replica cars from movies and television, whether they are from James Bond, Jurassic Park, or incredibly obscure Japanese shows. However, he might have outdone himself this time because he hopped into one of the biggest automotive stars of contemporary cinema. This 1970 Dodge Charger appeared in Fast & Furious and came back in Fast Five, where Paul Walker actually drove it. The menacing, black muscle car will make its return to the franchise in the seventh film, too.
The Fast and Furious Charger is a real beast no matter how you look at it. The interior is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage, and as the video shows, this thing vibrates constantly like a coiled mass of muscle ready to strike. The camera can barely stay in place most of the time. Also, Dom's Dodge is more than happy to do a smoky burnout and leave the driver partially deaf afterward from its wonderful, ear-splitting engine roar.
The Aficionauto also interviews the man who controls the keys to this beast. Bob Hartwig was once an F-15 pilot, but he also loved Hollywood vehicles. Now, he's a partner at Picture Car Warehouse, a company with about 850 cars that supplies vehicles to film studios. This Charger definitely seems to be Hartwig's favorite in the collection, as it should be.

eBay Find of the Day: Viper Defender from '90s TV show

As car lovers, it's always hard to find a good television show with decent cars, but what the 1990s show Viper lacked in acting, scripting and plot, it more than made up for with cool cars. For starters, the lead car was a Dodge Viper RT/10, but, on screen, it was able to morph into its "Defender" mode making it an armored coupe with a full arsenal of weapons.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a fan of the bad show to love its lead car, and if you really want one, a Defender is up for auction right now on eBay. According to the listing, this car is the real deal - not a clone - and it comes with a V8 engine (not sure what happened to the V10?) and plenty of swag and memorbilia. No word on its actual asking price, but with a day left and 42 bids already, the reserve has not been met at $133,400. The listing does add that this same car was listed at Mecum back in 2010, but did not get sold, even with a bid of $270,000.

Dodge Viper GTS-R goes back to old-school livery

The Dodge Viper may have been around now for over 20 years, but as far as racing achievements go, 2000 was its finest season. That's when it won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the GTS class trophy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its second consecutive title in the American Le Mans Series.
Since then, SRT Motorsports hasn't quite had the same success, withdrawing from Le Mans this year and shedding the Dodge name and its emblematic red and white livery for the SRT badge and a silver snakeskin theme. But now that the Viper is back under the Dodge banner, so too is the racing team returning to its classic livery.
Starting from the six-hour race at Watkins Glen next week, both the No. 91 and No. 93 Viper GTS-Rs will wear the red base color with twin white racing stripes that its more accomplished forebears wore on circuits around the world. And with it, maybe the Viper will return once again to the winner's circle at home and abroad.
