                                                                                                              project car

Here we have a 1968 Dodge Dart that I recently took in as partial payment against another Mopar that I had . Originally it was a Dart 270 but it now it has a 440 motor with the famed six pack set-up and a 727 auto trans with a Dana 60 in the rear with a posi and 4:11 gears. And the car is supposed to be set up by a NASCAR DRIVER/MECHANIC but I cannot prove or disprove that statement. But as you can see there is some high dollar parts that go with this car as it was set-up to simply be a cool go-fast car and that is it. It is NOT A SHOW CAR but it is a cool looking car with the right motor and a really nice interior but the body work is amateurish with a few waves and misaligned body lines. So if you are looking for perfection you should keep looking but if you are just looking for a cool go fast car this just might be the one.

Now let me tell you a little more about the car in detail. First off the color is sublime green with a black tail stripe and a black six-pack hood. All new suspension painted and powder coated, Nascar style 3-piece sway bar up front (will need a front end alignment), All new front disk brakes with chrome hard lines and steel braided flex lines at each wheel, 11” performance drums in the back with New shocks both front and rear with the rear being air shocks, A narrowed Dana 60 with a 4:11 posi rear gear and 35 Spline Moser billet axles with top links on axle tubes to help prevent axle wrap, A  rebuilt manual reverse pattern valve body 727 with a deep aluminum racing tranny pan and a new 3500 Boss hog stall converter with a new  B&M pistol grip ratchet shifter, The battery was moved to the rear of the car but the battery box was made to look like a piece of luggage and not just a ugly battery box. Most of the bolts have been replaced with stainless steel or ceramic chromed, Has frame connecters that are welded in and the whole underbody is undercoated, The fuel tank is clean and ready for fuel and I has a sump with a Edelbrock quiet electric fuel pump(relayed switch is under the dash for on or off with key ignition.

It is also wearing brand new Coker red line tires stretched over brand new(painted to match) wheels with deep dish on the rear(215 up front and 255 for the rear and 15x8 front and 15x10 rear ). As for the interior it has  new carpet, new windshield, new wood grain steering wheel  and a hidden master power switch under the dash with removable key but sorry no radio.

Under the hood has also been prepped for the motor and as you can see it has a all aluminum  radiator with a stainless steel shroud and electric fan set-up(thermal activated switch with override under dash)  and a stainless overflow tank. New wiring harness, Now for the motor it is a early 70s 440 with rebuilt like new 906 six pack heads that have been ported and have larger manley valves, springs and retainers, The rods are Childs & Albert  billet rods. As for the pistons they are new 30 over forged  trw  domed pistons (11:1) with a new hydraulic purple .531 cam and new comp lifters plus a New double roller timing chain. It also has a new aluminum water pump, New oil pan with a new high volume oil pump, New chrome balancer , Chrome one wire alternator with the brackets, Aluminum pulleys and Mopar aluminum valve covers, msd distributor and all arp studs (heads and mains),  and all the gaskets needed for assembly of the motor. And to sit on top of this monster is an aluminum six-pack intake with holley carbs (2-350 cfm and 1- 500 cfm modified to fit the six pack intake so now all 3 carbs have metering blocks and power  valves for better tuning) . The block will need machining and the crank will need to be turned(neither have been turned or bored)  So that is what this car has to offer. Like I said earlier it is not a show car but just a cool go fast car that is about 90% complete but needs to be put back together by somebody looking for that cool, cool car.  Please ask any and all questions before bidding on this car as there is no warranty or guarantees on this car.( after all it is a 45 year old car)  Either  you can call me at 231-206-5258 my name is Kirk or email me thru ebay’s  ask seller a question. Well good luck if you bid on my car………………..see-ya

Fiat Chrysler expands Takata airbag recall to 3.3M vehicles

Fri, Dec 19 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is expanding its recall of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags, moving beyond Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands to the greater US, as well as Mexico, Canada and beyond. The affected vehicles, some 3.3 million in total, were built between 2004 and 2007, with many models, including the Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500, Durango and the Chrysler 300, having been affected by Chrysler's previous recall. Despite the somewhat alarming nature that comes with a recall of this many vehicles, it seems that Chrysler is moving more out of an abundance of caution (and federal pressure) than anything else, saying: "Neither FCA US, nor Takata Corporation, the supplier, has identified a defect in this population of inflators. These components also are distinct from Takata inflators cited in fatalities involving other auto makers. More than 1,000 laboratory tests have been performed on these components. All deployed as intended, but FCA US continues to study the suspect inflators, which are not used in the Company's current production vehicles." Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and asked to report to dealers for a free replacement driver's side airbag. Scroll down for the official press release from FCA. Statement: Global Air-Bag Inflator Replacement December 19, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC will replace driver's-side air-bag inflators in an estimated 3.3 million older-model vehicles worldwide, in an expansion of an ongoing regional field action. Neither FCA US, nor Takata Corporation, the supplier, has identified a defect in this population of inflators. These components also are distinct from Takata inflators cited in fatalities involving other auto makers. More than 1,000 laboratory tests have been performed on these components. All deployed as intended, but FCA US continues to study the suspect inflators, which are not used in the Company's current production vehicles. Outside of Florida, one of the areas covered by the original action, no FCA US vehicle has been linked to an air-bag deployment of the type that has raised public concern. Nevertheless, the Company is replacing the Takata components tied to that concern. FCA US is aware of one related injury involving one of its vehicles, an older-model sedan. It occurred in a southern Florida region marked by persistent, high, absolute humidity – a condition believed to be a contributing factor in the air-bag deployments under investigation.

Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.

Fiat Chrysler posts record Q3 profit thanks to U.S. trucks and Jeep

Wed, Oct 28 2020

MILAN — A rebound in car production in Fiat Chrysler on Wednesday reported record third-quarter earnings as production returned to nearly pre-pandemic levels. The Italian-American automaker, which is finalizing its full merger with French rival PSA Peugeot, reported a net profit in the three months ending Sept. 30 of $1.4 billion (1.2 billion euros). That compares with a loss of 179 million euros a year earlier. The carmaker reported adjusted earnings before tax and interest in North America of 2.5 billion euros. That offset deepening losses in Europe, Asia and at its Maserati luxury marquee. Latin America, the only other region to post a profit, saw it narrow by two-thirds to 46 million euros. “Our record results were driven by our teamÂ’s tremendous performance in North America,” CEO Mike Manley said in a statement. Overall, the carmaker said global earnings before tax and interest were a record 2.3 billion euros despite a 6% fall in revenues to 26 billion euros. Global shipments were down 3%, due largely to plant retooling in North American to produce the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer in the luxury SUV segment and the discontinuation of the Dodge Grand Caravan classic minivan. Fiat Chrysler announced earlier Wednesday that its merger with PSA Peugeot is on track to be finalized by the end of the first quarter of 2021, as planned. To meet regulatory concerns, the French carmaker is selling a small stake in a components maker to get below 40% ownership. The new automaker, to be called Stellantis, will be the fourth biggest producer in the world. Earnings/Financials Chrysler Dodge Fiat Jeep RAM Citroen Peugeot
