Up for auction is a 1968 Dart two door 270 hard top. I planed to use it for another Super Stock Hemi Dart project, but I am swamped with customer work in the shop so the car will just end up sitting around for another couple years. So I am listing the car with a very low no reserve starting price. The car is from Texas and is very solid with only minor rust in the lower rear quarters. The engine bay is rust free and has no bonus holes drilled in it. The car is a non A/C body and the floors and trunk are awesome. The under side is very clean. The car has a V8 K frame and manual steering. I parted out a 68 four door Dart a couple years ago and that's why the car has a blue dash and some misc. stray parts. The grill is very nice but the head light bezels have some dings. I have all the two door trim and glass except a windshield. There are no seats. The car is complete roller, I have all the chrome and stainless trim that is also included. The car will be sold with a bill of sale. Please take this auction seriously and only bid if you are going to follow though. I welcome anyone to come inspect the car. 40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.

South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars

Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.

Dodge to sell off first Challenger SRT Hellcat for charity

Want to get your hands on a new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and can't wait to be the first to get one? Las Vegas will be the place to be on September 27. That's where Barrett-Jackson will auction off the very first example. And you'd better bring your checkbook, because the bidding is sure to be fierce with all the proceeds going to charity.
The supercharged Challenger with VIN 0001 has been hand-painted in Stryker Red (usually reserved for the Viper) and features special badging, documentation and accompanying memorabilia - not to mention, of course, that 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. The car will be on display this weekend as well at Barrett-Jackson's Hot August Nights auction in Reno.
