This is a 1964 Dodge Dart station wagon these are by far rarer than the Plymouth valiant model as they didn't make as many and there are few left around. This is the last Year that Chrysler offered the Pushbutton torque flight automatic transmission making it by far the most valuable and collectable. This wagon is the 225 model with the extra chrome trim on the outside and inside of the car it has the 225 hi power 6 cylinder engine the engine was totally rebuilt in 1998 an I don`t think it has  900 miles on the new engine since than. The car  sat for many years when I bought it .I put in a fuel tank and a  new sender I spent $200.00 to have the carburetor rebuilt ,I also installed a new fuel pump the car runs good the engine has lots of power and guts the transmission shifts fine .The carburetor needs to have the choke adjusted and the fuel mixture adjusted as it takes a few minutes to warm up and get going. The car  came from Glendale California . It still has the original issue Black plates on in when it was new in the state it has never been out of California. The car has some nice options Power steering and a remote side view mirror I also had the original  radio serviced but the antenna needs to be hooked up as it just has static. As far as the condition of the car goes here is what I can tell you about the car is all original and has never been modified or messed up it still has the original paint what's left of it. The color was called anniversary Gold it has a scripted horn ring with that logo there is a dent by the drivers side front fender and a dent by the drivers side back quarter there is also some scrape damage by the passenger side rain gutter and the back door I have all the replacement chrome  trim that was damaged the paint is badly worn I put a butter coat of primer on the roof to keep it from rusting more the floorboards are real clean no rust or damage there is no rust on the fender`s of  the car just what you would expect from a west coast car  The headlight ring trim pieces are dented the drivers side is all bent out of shape and needs to be replaced the padded dash pad is cracked but still looks decent and can be repaired .The interior has the deluxe two tone gold and brown  interior the back seat and front seat are all  original but the front seat is badly worn through and needs restoration /repair the headliner is falling down so it needs to be replaced  .I had some work done to the brakes a new master cylinder and a couple of wheel cylinders  but they may need more attention as the car has sat for a while .All the glass is intact and the windows run up and down with no problem the tailgate  works flawlessly and the window rolls up and down just fine .All the keys operate the locks and open and lock just fine The heater core has been by passed so I assume it needs to be replaced .This car is so much fun to drive with the larger engine it has lots of torque and power and the power steering is effortless to drive I take it to the store and always enjoy driving it  .I have had this car parked in my drive way and there are no leaks that I can see so everything seems pretty tight .I did notice when I was taking pictures that there is some rust spots on the lower part of the tailgate typical of these cars I have tried to describe the car as best I could if you need anymore info please ask lastly the car has a clean title with my name on it and is currently licensed insured and registered in the state of California I am selling this car AS-IS where is to be picked up in San Diego Calif.

Dodge Challenger returns to Trans Am

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

NASCAR's Nationwide Series may have switched (in appearance anyway) to muscle cars, but American racing fans know that if they want to see real muscle cars on the street circuits, the only place to look is Trans Am. The all-American racing series is packed with Mustangs, Camaros and even Corvettes. The one thing it's been missing is the Dodge Challenger, but now SRT Motorsports has announced it's bringing its muscle car back where it belongs.
Rather than waiting until next year, the Miller Racing team is switching mid-season to the new Dodge Challenger SRT Trans Am racer you see here, just in time for this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio. And not just that - it's lined up a compelling pair of drivers to pilot it, as well.
The No. 11 car will be driven by Trans Am legend Tommy Kendall, a four-time series champion who's been off the grid since 2004. Backing him up in the No. 1 Challenger will be none other than Cameron Lawrence, the driver who has won five out of six races in the Chevy Camaro so far this season, losing out only once to American racing scion Adam Andretti.

Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/videos]

Tue, 22 Jul 2014

Darrell Waltrip once said, "If the lion didn't bite the tamer every once in a while, it wouldn't be exciting." The sentiment behind that aphorism is causing my adrenal gland to wake up as Dodge and SRT drivers and engineers - somber-faced to a man - give me the track talk that will precede my driving the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT on the circuit at Portland International Raceway. PIR might not be Daytona, and the 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat might seem tame to a legend like ol' Jaws, but there's a not-small part of me that's thinking about how hard Dodge's fire-breathing kitty might bite.
Just a few hours previous, I'd gotten behind the wheel of the Hellcat for the first time, letting its hyperbole-spitting, supercharged V8 Hemi pull me yieldingly through Portland's morning commuter traffic. Lulled into a cocky certainty by the Challenger's good manners at low speed, I drove the throttle just a hair too deep, too fast when I ran on to the highway ramp. For just an instant the rear tires were utterly drenched in torque, and the back end of the big Dodge loosened up like a drift car on a wet track. Throttle steer lives at the fleeting whim of your right foot in this car.
It was no big thing to lay off the gas and pull the Hellcat back in line as I entered the highway, but the incident did get me to thinking: What will this car do to me on a road course?
