2004 Dodge Dakota Club Cab Slt 4x4 Must See Condition on 2040-cars
Greensburg, Pennsylvania, United States
This auction is for an extremely clean 2004 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab SLT 4x4. The truck has an automatic transmission with a 4.7L V8 engine, and only 114k miles. It runs and drives as good as it looks. The truck has current 12/14 PA stickers and everything mechanically seems to be in great working condition. All four raised white letter tires match and have excellent tread life remaining. The engine runs smooth and has plenty of power to haul whatever you may need to. The automatic transmission shifts as it should and the truck has no unwanted squeaks, rattles, or unwelcoming noises. There are no engine lights on or any other warning lights, and the four wheel drive works as it should. The truck runs and drives down the road great. It is equipped with power windows, locks, and mirrors, and all work as they should. The cruise control functions as it should and air blows cold. I wouldn't hesitate to drive the truck anywhere. The body and interior of this truck are in exceptional condition for a truck this year, and it doesn't show any signs whatsoever of being worked at all. The exterior paint shines like new and appears to be all original factory paint. The body is rust free and clean all around. The only mark to speak of is the minor scratch on the left fender that I will have brush touched before the end of the auction. Inside the door jams, under the hood, and inside the tailgate are all in exceptional condition. The interior looks like new as well. It is free of rips, tears, burns, stains, or any foul odors. The original floor mats are included, but not pictured. Overall this is a great PA truck for the year and the miles. It has been obviously very well kept and maintained. The truck will make someone a great driver for many years to come. I work for a dealer and will be selling the truck through them to make the title work easier. Bid with confidence and ask any questions you may have. Don't miss out on this one! |

FCA cuts powertrain warranties to 60k miles
Fri, May 29 2015FCA US is cutting back the mileage of its powertrain warranty on some 2016 model year vehicles. Rather than the current five years/100,000 miles of coverage, the new amount is five years/60,000 miles for gasoline-fueled models from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram. In March 2015, General Motors made a similar switch to five-years/60,000-miles of coverage for Chevrolet and GMC, and FCA US seems to be citing this as part of the reason for the shift. "Following changes already made by competitors, FCA US is adjusting powertrain warranty coverage for 2016 model year vehicles to be more consistent with industry practices," the automaker said in a portion of its statement. The bumper-to-bumper warranty for these vehicles is unchanged at three years/36,000 miles. According to Automotive News, Fiat's warranty is remaining at four years/50,000 miles. When it changed the mileage limit, GM also halved the number of free service visits for Chevy, GMC, and Buick to two from the previous four. The automaker claimed that the reason for the adjustments to its coverage was that a long warranty was seldom a reason for customers to buy a vehicle. Chrysler recalling over 200k vehicles across its brands
Wed, 10 Apr 2013With more than 200,000 units across six separate recalls and almost all of its brands, it appears that Chrysler has officially jumped headfirst into the recall pool this month. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued three official recalls for the automaker, and The Detroit News is reporting that the automaker itself has announced three more.
The biggest of the recalls applies to about 120,000 Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger and Chrysler 300 models for 2011 and 2012 due to faulty wiring harnesses for the seat-mounted side airbags, which could lead to these airbags not deploying in the event of a crash. A little more than 60,000 two-wheel-drive versions of the 2007-2008 Dodge Nitro and 2008 Jeep Liberty SUVs are being recalled due to a heat shield that could cause the driveshaft to break, which if that isn't bad on its own, could then hit underneath where the airbag sensor is mounted, causing the airbags to deploy. Wrapping up NHTSA's recall notices, about 20,000 Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass models for 2012 are also being recalled due to a problem with the fuel tank transfer tube that could lead to the vehicle stalling. The LX car recall campaign is going into effect this month, while the other two will start next month - all three notices are posted below.
In addition to the official NHTSA recalls, The Detroit News is also reporting that Chrysler is recalling more than 16,000 Ram trucks and a small number of Dodge Dart sedans. Around 6,500 2013 Ram 1500 trucks will be recalled due to an improper adjustment of the parking brake cable from the factory, while 7,000 Cummins-powered 2013 Ram Heavy Duty trucks are being recalled due to an engine cover that does not have as much heat resistance as it is supposed to. Finally, a total of 46 Dodge Dart sedans are being recalled due to a problem with the brake calipers and/or parking brake.
Why the Charger Hellcat can't be ordered with a manual transmission
Sun, 16 Nov 2014Fans of truly irreverent amounts of horsepower will find lots to love in the form of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Both of them send 707 ridiculous horsepower to the rear wheels; the only question is whether you want your absurdity delivered with two or four doors. Oh, and whether or not you want the option of a manual transmission.
If you prefer rowing your own gears, the choice is made for you; there is no manual gearbox option available on the Charger Hellcat, or any Charger model at all, for that matter. Wonder why? Well, besides the fact that almost nobody - sorry, clutch fans, but it's true - would choose to buy a Charger with a manual transmission, that is? The answer, according to an industry insider in a post written on Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, is the floorpan.
It's probably not a surprise to most of our readers that the Dodge Challenger and Charger share a large portion of their chassis structure, which is codenamed LX at Chrysler, but there are still some significant differences under the skin due to the shorter wheelbase and two-door coupe bodyshell of the Challenger, as opposed to the sedan shape of the Charger. One of the differences is the floorpan, the huge chunk of sheetmetal that makes up the floor of the car and props up such essential items as the car's seats.
