2002 Dodge Dakota SLT 4x4

I am the original owner of this vehicle and a non-smoker.

The truck is in good working order, interior in great shape except the headliner is saging. The carpet is good and it has those rubber floor mats that catch everything. No cracks in any plastic dashboard etc. The seats are in great shape....I am only 170 lbs so the seat  isn't mashed. The color is Dark Slate Gray 40/20/40 seats.

The exterior is a bright silver metallic clear coat. It has the normal dings but no major issues, no collision damage. There is a bed liner in back and a locking tailgate lock.  The doors have those rain/wind guards and a bug guard in front. Windshield is fairly new, installed by the glass people. The tires have a few thousand miles on them Firestone Destination A/T LT265/75/R16.

Routine maintenance done by myself and to include these most recent repairs, front and rear brakes rotors pads drums shoes hardware and wheel cylinders. New shocks in front haven't done rears yet. New master cylinder and brake lines throughout truck. Truck exhaust section replaced and flowmaster muffler installed. O2 sensors and spark plugs have been replaced a few years ago. Rack and pinion and power steering pump had also been done. ////Ring and pinion bearings and seals have been replaced by the local rearend shop.\\\\ The clutch has no chatter and holds fine.

There is a small leak at the front crank seal nothing big, not going to tear the front end apart to sell truck. And yes there is rust underneath, no major damage and I have never launched a boat with this truck.

I would like those interested to know that I have nothing to hide with this sale, all questions will be answered honestly and as quickly as possible.

I see that the auto check shows and accident. Yes some local punk with a little rice beater decided he would smash my tailpipe with his hood. That's what needed to be reported to the pd. Let me know if you need to see the pics, they are funny. Did I mention it was on Christmas Eve of course.

I am former Marine Diesel Mechanic who just doesn't need this truck anymore. It is also for sale locally so posting will be withdrawn if needed.

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.

2014 Challenger R/T Shaker, Mopar '14 Challenger bring back iconic hood

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Enamored of the Dodge Challenger but wish you could get one with a shaker hood? We've got good news, because Dodge and Mopar have teamed up to bring it back.
The 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker packs the same 5.7-liter Hemi V8 as the standard Challenger R/T, but upgrades the business end with a through-the-hood exposed cold-air intake system. The retro hood scoop protrudes from the center of the hood in satin black (matching the decklid spoiler) to feed the Hemi and shakes with the engine just like the original from 1970. The Shaker model also comes with a Super Track Pak that adds a new steering rack, brake linings, shocks and 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car rubber. You can also shut off the stability management system completely in this car. A series of interior and exterior trim enhancements round out the look. The whole package adds $2,500 to the price of a Challenger R/T Classic for an all-in MSRP of $36,995.
In case that's not enough, Dodge is also offering a limited-edition Mopar Challenger that follows the 2010 Mopar Challenger, 2011 Mopar Charger, 2012 Mopar 300 and 2013 Mopar Dart. Limited to just 100 examples, the 2014 Mopar Challenger gets the same Shaker hood intake, unique graphics and wheels, an enhanced interior and a long list of optional extras from the Mopar parts catalog. Dodge isn't saying just yet how much the Mopar Challenger will cost, but you can bet it will command a considerable premium for the exclusivity alone.

Why the Charger Hellcat can't be ordered with a manual transmission

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Fans of truly irreverent amounts of horsepower will find lots to love in the form of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Both of them send 707 ridiculous horsepower to the rear wheels; the only question is whether you want your absurdity delivered with two or four doors. Oh, and whether or not you want the option of a manual transmission.
If you prefer rowing your own gears, the choice is made for you; there is no manual gearbox option available on the Charger Hellcat, or any Charger model at all, for that matter. Wonder why? Well, besides the fact that almost nobody - sorry, clutch fans, but it's true - would choose to buy a Charger with a manual transmission, that is? The answer, according to an industry insider in a post written on Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, is the floorpan.
It's probably not a surprise to most of our readers that the Dodge Challenger and Charger share a large portion of their chassis structure, which is codenamed LX at Chrysler, but there are still some significant differences under the skin due to the shorter wheelbase and two-door coupe bodyshell of the Challenger, as opposed to the sedan shape of the Charger. One of the differences is the floorpan, the huge chunk of sheetmetal that makes up the floor of the car and props up such essential items as the car's seats.
