2000 Dodge Dakota Slt Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 4.7l on 2040-cars
Vienna, Virginia, United States
2000 Dodge Dakota, Quad
Cab SLT, 4x4 Pick-up. Mileage shows 210,000 but a couple of years ago, the previous owner had a refurbished engine installed with refurbished AC Compressor, Radiators, Alternator, and Battery. True mileage is unknown. The interior of the truck is clean, all windows work as do all of the electricals. The speakers are not very good, but the stereo works. The 4x4 transmission works great as does the normal day-to-day running of the truck. I was told that the truck may have been in an accident and that's why the extra work was done. It comes with a clean Virginia title. The truck as a tow hitch, running board rails on both sides. The tires are in good overall condition as are the brakes. The underside is clean with no major rust or issues that are evident. The exhaust is in great shape. The AC will need to be recharged. No smoke or running issues - HOWEVER - the check engine light just came on (and then it went away - and now it's on again) and I don't know how to make it go away. I was told that the PCM board may need to be re-flashed. There a couple of body issues that can be seen in the pictures: - Passenger Side: Rear lower fender is dented. Does not affect the running of
the truck. - Rear: Bumper needs to
be re-aligned. It is solid but not straight. - Front Passenger side:
Fog light is missing, small dent in the front bumper and the orange signal
light is cracked and the bulbs need to be replaced. Anyway - the truck has been a good gardening truck for us but it is time to move on. I am selling this truck AS-IS. Please come and inspect the truck before you bid so you know what you are buying. I have described the truck as best as I can - it may have other issues that I am not aware of - like I said, this is our gardening truck for runs to home Depot and back. The truck is located in Vienna VA, 22182 |

Chrysler, Nissan minivans earn 'dire' crash test results, says IIHS [w/video]
Fri, Nov 21 2014First introduced in 2012, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's small-overlap frontal crash test has become the bane of many auto engineers' existence. It's a particularly steep design challenge because it forces just 25 percent of a vehicle's front end to take the brunt of a 40-mile-per-hour impact. The newly released results of four family-minded minivans underscore just how difficult the crash test is: only one scored an Acceptable rating, and the other three did very poorly. The 2008-2015 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan, plus the 2011-2015 Nissan Quest, all received Poor ratings in the test, the IIHS' lowest possible score. The three of them showed significant crash intrusion into the driver's area. The dummy in the Nissan actually had to be cut out of the vehicle, with an IIHS spokesperson remarking, "the structure collapsed like a house of cards." In the Fiat Chrysler Automobile vans, the steering wheels moved out of the way, making the airbag less effective and letting the driver's head hit the dashboard. While it was not actually crashed, the agency is also giving the 2009-12 Volkswagen Routan a Poor score because it shares a structure with the FCA models. The newly released results of four minivans underscore just how difficult the small-offset crash test is. The refreshed 2015 Toyota Sienna (shown), conversely, earned an Acceptable rating and is also a Top Safety Pick+ because of its optional forward collision warning and automatic braking system. While the crash test dummy moved around during the impact more than the agency would have liked, sensors showed a low risk of injuries. The IIHS tested the Honda Odyssey last year, and it earned a Good overall score, the agency's best ranking. It's also a Top Safety Pick+ vehicle. The only member of the minivan segment left to test is the latest Kia Sedona, and the Institute is reportedly waiting a little longer for Kia to make changes to improve the model's performance. When reached for comment, Nissan spokesperson Steve Yaeger provided Autoblog with the following statement: "Nissan is committed to vehicle safety and believes that consumers should have information about crash protection so they can make educated buying decisions. Nissan is proud of the 2014 Quest's "good" rating in the IIHS front moderate overlap and side impact tests as well as a "good" head restraint rating.
Dodge unveils Special Service Durango for government fleets
Fri, 18 Oct 2013Straight off its refresh, the Dodge Durango is slipping back into its dress blues and getting back to work. The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle boasts all the refinements and improvements that the refreshed, civilian-spec model received, most notably a 15-percent improvement in fuel economy.
Designed for police and fire departments, and as Chrysler's answer to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV in the growing service SUV market, the Durango boasts a 600-mile range, thanks to the addition of an eight-speed automatic, available on both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Equipped with the 360-horsepower Hemi, the Durango SSV can tow up to 7,400 pounds (the V6 is limited to 6,200 pounds).
Police and fire department Durangos get a few special features over the civilian models. The electric systems are ruggedized, with a heavy duty battery and a 220-amp alternator in place, while the engine's water pump and oil cooler are both stronger. The brakes are tougher, and a load-leveling suspension has been fitted, too.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with '600-plus horsepower' officially unveiled [w/video]
Tue, 20 May 2014Dodge has officially unveiled the most powerful vehicle to ever wear the Challenger name - the SRT Hellcat - complete with over 600 horsepower courtesy of a supercharged, 6.2-liter Hemi V8. It will be offered alongside the 485-hp Challenger SRT.
The new, force-induced V8 isn't just the most powerful ever fitted to the Challenger, it's the most powerful eight-cylinder Chrysler Group has ever built. Power figures aren't finalized, so expect to see "over 600 hp" bandied about quite a lot. That fury will be channeled through either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. Yes, over 600 ponies through an eight-speed auto. So far, the only vehicle we know of that delivers more output through that many gears is the as-yet untested Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Sadly, we don't have performance metrics just yet, although if this thing can't crack four seconds to 60 miles per hour, we'll be pretty surprised.
As is the theme nowadays, the 2015 Challenger SRT features a number of driving modes, governing power output, shift speeds for the 8AT, steering effort, traction control settings and suspension settings. There are three pre-programmed options - Default, Sport and Track - and a Custom mode that allows drivers to mix and match to their heart's content.
