This 1999 Dodge Dakota has been my daily driver since I bought it brand new in october of 1998. I ordered this truck with all the options I wanted and six weeks later it arrived at the dealer. This 4x4 Dakota is optioned with the SLT package, 5.2 V8, automatic, sure-grip differential, off road package with skid plates and 31.5 inch tires, bed liner, am/fm/ cassette/ cd player, sliding rear window, heavy duty cooling package, class IV towing packing and more. Once I got the truck I added a custom wood dash insert and door panel inserts.

Because of a drunk driver that hit the truck while it was parked in front of my house the driver's bed side and tailgate needed to be repaired. At that time I decided to have the whole truck painted to freshen it up...and it looks really good. I replaced the grille, front bumper and headlights to make it look better at that time also and I added the tonnau cover. There is one scratch on it now that has been touched up, it is down the drivers side and it barely noticable and if polished would be even less noticable.

The truck runs great and was recently tuned up with new plugs, wires, cap, filter and so on. Brake pads and a new water pump were installed as well. Tires have about 10k on them.

Now the BAD NEWS, there is a leak in the brake system from the rear of the truck that will need to be repaired before the truck can be driven. Also, I believe the heater will need to be looked at because there is very little heat in the truck.

Winning bidder to pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and the balance to be paid within 5 days. Shipping to be handled by winning bidder but I will assist if I can. Truck is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS. Please ask any and all qustions. Thank you and good luck.

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.

Jay Leno's Dodge Challenger raises $585k for USO in Scottsdale

Mon, Jan 19 2015

Of all the metal moved in Scottsdale, AZ, this holiday weekend, the one you see here was hardly the most expensive. But it's noteworthy for another reason: despite being a relatively humble, second-hand 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, raised an impressive $565,625. That's because, first of all, it belonged to Jay Leno, and secondly because the proceeds were going to the USO. Leno donated the modern muscle car from his collection to benefit our men and women in uniform, and was on hand to present the car on stage at the Gooding & Company auction, along with USO president J.D. Crouch II and former Army chief of staff General George W. Casey, Jr. After frenzied and patriotic bidding, the gavel ultimately dropped at $360,000, accompanied by over $200,000 in additional contributions, bringing the total amount donated to the USO to over half a million. Commendable though it was, of course the Challenger didn't garner the highest bids at the auction. A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider sold for $7.7 million and a 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS fetched $2.4 million. A rare 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series I Coupe Aerodinamico sold for over $4,070,000 – which, according to Sports Car Market, is the most ever paid at auction for a 400 Superamerica. And a 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6 also sold for a record $1.98 million.
