Your Granddaddy's Original Condition Flat Head Inline Six Cylinder 4 Door Sedan on 2040-cars
Springfield, Illinois, United States
64 year old Dodge in AMAZING original condition for its age. Yes, there are a couple scratches. Yes, there are a couple dings in the chrome. But I'm telling you, you will not find one more like your Granddaddy drove than this one. The photos will show the few scratches and dents and even the two small holes in the headliner, but everything else is great. The engine runs well. The only two issues I know it has (and I have had this vehicle for two years and drive it to church on a weekly basis) is the brake fluid has to be refilled once a year and the carb needs cleaned. She is running slightly rough right now, but she still runs like a champ. The radio does not work and I do not know why. I just have not had time to dig into it and find out why. The photos should accurately show the condition of the vehicle, however, do not hesitate to contact me with any and all questions. This is probably the most original car for its era. This is a classic. I have had it for two years and have enjoyed it. However, where I live, I do not have a garage. I covered the car for the two winters but let's be real.....I'm not doing it any good by just covering it. This car needs a garage and I know that. I know that if I continue to keep her, she will start falling apart. She deserves better. And atleast I am wise enough to realize that. She has been a good car and we have enjoyed her immensely. My kids love the fact that they can ride without seat belts. Please help us get this car to a good home where she will be taken care of better than I can and enjoyed as much as she has been with us. I do have a low reserve. If you are seriously interested in this car, let me know and I will send you a private message with the reserve price so there are no surprises. |

Chrysler recalling 780k minivans over fire risk
Fri, 09 May 2014Chrysler is recalling 780,000 of its Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2010 to 2014 model years due to the possibility of circuits overheating, which can lead to a fire. Of the 780,000 total vans being recalled, Chrysler estimates that 644,850 are in the US, 106,980 are in Canada, 8,009 are in Mexico, and 20,638 are in other markets. All of the affected vehicles were built between August 25, 2010 and October 31, 2013.
Chrysler's engineers discovered that beverage spills or exposure to moisture (from rain, snow, car washes, and the like) were linked to circuits shorting in the window switch assembly. Short circuits can overheat, and thus, cause a fire.
Chrysler will contact owners and let them know when they may schedule service, at which point, the window switches will be replaced. In the interim, the automaker says that owners may visit their dealers after May 14 to have the switches disconnected.
2014 Dodge Durango teaser reveals new 'racetrack' taillights
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Not wanting to let Jeep get all of the SUV attention for the 2014 model year, Dodge is unveiling a refreshed version of its Durango at the New York Auto Show. Teased in this image, all we can really tell about the 2014 Dodge Durango is that it will be getting Dodge's "racetrack" taillights similar to the Charger and Dart.
The chrome or painted strip currently between the Durango's Zorro taillamps have been removed to allow for a full-width LED array with "DODGE" lettering displayed more prominently above the license plate pocket. Parent company Chrysler also promises that the updated Durango will add "several new class-exclusive features," but stops short of saying what those are. Earlier reports suggest that among the changes, buyers will be able to look forward to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which ought to improve the three-row SUV's fuel efficiency.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat revving is sonic bacon
Fri, 23 May 2014This is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and we're sure that by now, you know its stats, including over 600 horsepower from its 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. What, pray tell, does that blown engine sound like, though?
At least judging on the sonic strength of this video, it's very, very dirty. Honestly, it sounds unlike anything that's come out of the Chrysler Group in a long time, if ever. It's loud, almost brutally so, with a bark that few road-going V8s can match.
Of course, you should be the final judge here. Take a look and a listen at the two videos below, one of which comes from our friends at Cars.com that provides a nice look under the hood, and then let us know what you think of the Hellcat's singing voice in Comments.
