A fun ride on the street, 425 HP 6.1 Hemi, built 727 Turbo action valve body and converter, only the best parts were used to install the 6.1, TTI headers, Koni adjustable shocks up front, new bulletproof driveshaft with 1350 joints, the 4-link, tubs, and rollbar were installed in Ron Butlers shop in LA, Fabtech 9" housing, Strange lite spool, Strange 40 spline gun drilled axels, aluminum Strange ultra bolt thru center with 12 bolt pinion carrier, 11" disc brakes, wheelie bars, Koni coilovers, 16 gallon fuel cell in the trunk, lineloc. The body has never had any undercoat, caulk, or rust, NOS front fenders, show chromed bumpers, stainless has been polished, new superstock grille, and NOS trunk medallion, superstock interior, aluminum radiator, new MT 31x16R-15 Sportsman radials, new Centerline Convo with 26x6R-15 fronts. I have driven it parades when temps were over 100 and down the interstate 80mph with no problems. The Simpson chute is just for fun, a lever beside the driver seat folds it under the tag to make it legal when the law is looking. I have had alot of radical street cars and they all were hard to live with on the street, and this one is really fun with 425+ HP that runs economical, starts and runs like a new SRT-8 should. Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most
Wed, 16 Jul 2014Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.
Ralph Gilles responds to Dodge rumors, says brand is 'here to stay'
Fri, 12 Jul 2013This is why we love Ralph Gilles. While in Italy hanging out with a group of Viper Club members in Europe, the SRT boss took the time to respond to a question directed at him on Instagram in regards to the future of Dodge.
Recent reports have painted a bleak picture for Dodge, but Gilles defended Chrysler's full-line brand by stating that the rumors are, "all rumors, Dodge is here to stay! It may get more focused going forward but not killed!" The idea of a "more focused" Dodge brand could lend some credibility to reports that the Grand Caravan and Durango are on their way out, which would leave Dodge solely as a car, or car-based, automaker.
Chrysler investigating complaints of vehicles with faulty power modules
Sun, 24 Aug 2014Chrysler owners are hopping mad after experiencing a series of electrical gremlins in some of the company's vehicles. Issues range from mere annoyances - windows rolling down and radios turning off of their own accord - to serious safety issues, with headlights that randomly shut off at night and cars that stall and refuse to start.
The issues are being blamed on the total integrated power module, which can cost up to $1,000 for customers to replace. This, of course, has led to a hefty batch of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with 240 owners expressing their displeasure so far. Another site, CarComplaints.com, has registered over 300 complaints relating to the 2010 to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, alone, according to The New York Times.
Chrysler has acknowledged that it's investigating the complaints and is analyzing the faulty TIPMs, but that isn't quite enough for customers of the affected vehicles. The newspaper has snagged a few of the more harrowing tales with the electrically challenged Chrysler products, culled from the NHTSA complaints.
