1975 75 Dodge Coronet Custom Survivor Barn Find Rallye Red 2 Dr. Drive Home Exc on 2040-cars
Mackinaw, Illinois, United States
Here we have a super nice survivor I actually found when I was out garage saling during a town-wide sale out in the country. The son of the original owner was selling due to his fathers death and mother not being able to drive anymore. It has never sat for any long period of time. It was periodically used to keep everything working well. I drove it home and it drove like a dream. The radial tires are excellent, the exhaust is quiet, it drives straight, brakes good, and it actually feels like a Cadillac compared to the older mopar musclecars I have. It's truly a most enjoyable ride. It is all original other then the rear lower quarters under the side trim were touched up. The son stated there was some lower surface rust his father didn't like and had a body shop do the minor repairs. The rest is all original FE5 rallye red. original vinyl top, original seat covers. carpeting, dash. trunk. engine compartment etc. When is the last time you saw a 2 dr 75 coronet, let alone in rallye red, with the original road wheels(on build sheet), and dual chromed remote racing mirrors(on build sheet). Odometer shows 61,000+ miles. The father had duct tape inside door recording his oil changes. Car came with power steering, power disc brakes, a/c, cruise control. road wheels, am radio, vinyl top, and the upgrade interior door panels and seats you get with being a Custom. This car even has the gas miser light alert on the left fender turn signal lamp. The gas crunch was big in mid 70's, so fuel mileage was important. The light will come on when you get on it or downshift indicating over consumption of fuel. It's really a neat thing for back in 75. All the guages work, runs cool, no overheating. All glass original with one rock chip on windshield behind the rear view mirror. Tires are not dry rotted and have NO sidewall cracks. Headliner, door panels excellent. Couple of small rub tears on drivers side front bench where you get in and out alot rubbing that edge. A/c all there buts needs charging. Engine compartment all original other than orange plug wires and one red heater hose. The 2 speed wiper motor works but the nut attaching them to the arms must be off(it looks tough to get to with a/c under dash). Alot of paperwork, including build sheet, dealer invoice showing he traded a 72 charger in, total cost, trade-in allowance, owners manual, etc. It's not a musclecar but I guarantee you will still get alot of attention at the cruises or car shows, just because its a survivor and something different. All I had to do was replace front disc brakes since I've had it.There is no rust out on the frame or under carriage. This is absolutely a drive home car. If its long distance I would bring a good spare tire or 2 to have piece of mind. Really don't know how old tires are. Car is still in original owners name with original 1975 small Illinois title. Ask all questions before bidding. High bidder must sent $250 to my paypal account within 2 days after auction. Remaining balance due in cash at vehicle pick-up(with-in 7 days of end of auction). USA bidders only.

Dodge to reveal Hellcat-powered Challenger in Detroit?
Fri, 10 Jan 2014On top of all the other performance car debuts slated for next week's Detroit Auto Show, we might be able to add one more to the list - the new, supercharged Hellcat V8 from Chrysler. According to new reports, the rumored 640-horsepower mill is likely to cross the Motor City stage in the engine bay of a Dodge Challenger.
As AllPar points out, though, there may be more news than just the fire-breathing engine. While we've seen spy photos of the Hellcat testing under the hood of the current Challenger, there's a very fair chance that it won't arrive until the muscle car is refreshed later this year. The question now is whether that refresh will be shown off alongside the new engine in Detroit, or if it'll be saved, perhaps for the New York Auto Show.
Other details dug up by AllPar include potential transmissions for the supercharged engine - the Mopar-minded site is expecting an eight-speed automatic or a Tremec six-speed manual. Prices, meanwhile, could be in the same elevated range as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, at $70,000 to $80,000.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot boards meet to finalize merger
Tue, Dec 17 2019MILAN/PARIS — The boards of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Peugeot will meet separately on Tuesday to discuss finalizing an initial agreement for a $50 billion merger to create the world's number four carmaker, sources said. A source close to FCA said the two companies could announce the signing of a binding memorandum early on Wednesday, followed by a conference call to explain further details later in the day. The two mid-sized carmakers announced plans six weeks ago for a tie-up to help them deal with big challenges in the industry, including a global demand downturn and the need to develop costly cleaner cars to meet looming anti-pollution rules. Ahead of the meetings, entities representing the Peugeot family, Etablissements Peugeot Freres (EPF) and FFP, unanimously approved a proposed memorandum of understanding for the planned merger, a source familiar with the situation said. FCA and PSA have said they would seek to finalize a deal by year-end to create a group with 8.7 million in annual vehicle sales. That would put it fourth globally behind Volkswagen, Toyota and the Renault-Nissan alliance. PSA's Carlos Tavares will be chief executive and FCA's John Elkann — the scion of Italy's Agnelli family, which controls FCA through their holding company Exor — chairman of the combined company. The group will include the Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Peugeot, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands, allowing it to serve mass and premium passenger car markets as well as those for trucks and light commercial vehicles.
