Coronet 500 383, 4
speed This car just received a complete restoration. Paint and Body was completed by SS/AFX in
Arizona, this Coronet currently presents much better than it did when leaving
Chrysler’s St. Louis manufacturing facility. The car was stripped to bare metal
and any questionable metal was replaced.
That solid body was bathed in a smooth and glossy coat of paint, which
reflects correct Go Mango. And today, the car rolls on a set of Schott
Octane 18” rims. Pull the hood pins and
you’ll find a 500 horse power Fast fuel injected 440 cubic inch RB V8. Behind
that mill, a Keisler Perfect Fit TKO 5-speed with a hydraulic clutch run to the
stock pedals. That race proven 5-speed applies power to a rugged Dana 60 rear
end, which spins a 3.54 geared posi-traction differential. Between this powerful drive train and the road
is a complete RMS suspension system. The front is an AlterKtion Coil-Over
System-Street/Handling system and the rear is Street Lynx 4 link system. All four corners are equipped with Wilwood
12” rotors with 4 piston calipers. The
brake system is powered by a Hydro Boost power assist system which enhances
overall braking power and substantially improves braking consistency regardless
of engine vacuum. Steering, like those
brakes, is power-assisted, providing a modern level of safety. This sweet Coronet R/T has it all: looks to
kill, power that never stops and an incredible restoration that is detailed and
spotless. If you’re in the market for some solid Mopar muscle that’ll be a
constant source of pride and fun, this is the car!

Chrysler teases upcoming outlay of SEMA cars
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is hauling a multitude of modified models to the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas this November, and the company is releasing the first teasing sketches of many of them.
Unfortunately, FCA isn't giving many solid details on any of the concepts other than saying the vehicles from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat all benefit from tuning from its Mopar performance brand. The teaser photos include a sinister-looking Chrysler 200S, Fiat 500 Abarth with two-tone paint and a scorpion on the hood, a red and black 500L, seemingly two different takes on the Jeep Renegade, a green Dodge Challenger wearing the T/A badge, an orange and black Dart, a very neon Charger, just the outline of a red and black Viper, a Ram ProMaster in Mopar livery and a Ram pickup called the Outdoorsman.
Take a look through the gallery to see what you think of the sketches for these concepts, and scroll down for the full announcement from FCA.
Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.
Ron Burgundy calls Durango a 'terrible car,' yet his ads help sales climb by 59% [w/videos]
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Ron Burgundy was put on this planet to do one thing: to read the news. If that ever falls through, though, the womanizing, scotch-drinking anchorman could have a great career just as a Dodge salesman. Bloomberg points out that sales of the 2014 Dodge Durango have rocketed up 59 percent in the first month of Chrysler's funny new ad campaign (which began in early October). But then again, the entire year has been strong for the big SUV, with year-over-year sales increases in the double and even triple digit percentages - including an increase of 117 percent in August.
Of course, the Durango has also received a wealth of new content and a freshened look for 2014 in addition to the Burgundy campaign, and that has to be helping close sales, too. Whether or not the spots themselves are leading to more sales may be a moot point, since they are definitely getting plenty of attention. Almost two months into the marketing tie-up between Dodge and the movie Anchorman 2, Dodge's YouTube videos have received well over seven million views. More than just YouTube shorts and television commercials, the Durango has even received late-night attention, including when Will Ferrell showed up in character as Ron Burgundy on Conan earlier this week.
In the interview, he calls the Durango a "terrible car" that "cracked in half," a joke that probably had Dodge ad execs squirming uncomfortably in their Barcaloungers. Scroll down to watch the Conan interview as well as some of our favorite Burgundy-pitched Durango ads. And there's still plenty of time to "touch" Ron to win a new Durango.
