Huntington Station, New York, United States

Up for offering today is a 1969 Super Bee 440 Six Pack car, 23,000 miles and in the very rare color combination. This was a special order car , Bahama Yellow and Red Bumble Bee striping. The car is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, the paint and bodywork were done to a very high standard. The car was disassembled, repaired, refinished and reassembled. The current owner has owned it for 10 years ++, it was not built to to make a profit,it was done to add to his collection. The underside is as nice as they come, nicely detailed. The vehicle originally came from Wisconsin, 2 owners there, then purchased by an exotic car collector in California. The car was then purchased by its current owner in Long Island,New York. At this point, the collection rarely sees the light of day and the current owner has decided to let some or possibly all the cars go.

The Super Bee with the A12 engine conversion package is one of the most sought after factory combinations. The car offered here has its original, engine properly dated and correct sequence #, the engine runs strong, pulls great and sounds like a 440 Six Pack should. Transmission is also correct, both pad stampings can be seen in the photographs. The transmission shifts well, a factory Hurst shifter as well. The Dana 60 rear has 4.10 gearing with sure-grip.The radial "Red Lines" give the car the correct look and allow it to be driven safely. As you can see from the pictures it has great lines, the car will not disappoint any serious buyer. Given the rarity of the car, the unique color combo and the fact that she still sports the driveline she was born with, this should put this car into a very elite group of cars. I do not have the original build sheet, just a copy, it was decoded by Galen Govier,a copy of that is available for information. Please,if you are a serious buyer ,I have all the time in the world , I will help you get it anywhere, I will work with you regarding pre-purchase inspections, I want to help. The current owner is healthy, not getting a divorce and doesn't need to sell, please keep offers real, NO TRADES.

The car has gone about 80 miles a year since the current owner has had it, it needs to be used, I have cleaned up the carbs, dropped the fuel tank and cleaned her up, the AM radio is currently not working , the dimmer switch is touchy , the car would benefit from being used more frequently. It is not perfect, but it is attainable for the new owner. I will add a couple of pictures during the auction as it moves along.

The high bidder will be responsible for all transport, taxes, fees and associated with the pre-purchase inspection and logistics. A $2,000 non-refundable deposit will be required within 48 hours of auction end. I also will need to exchange contact info and addresses.

Stellantis will enter joint venture with Samsung SDI for EV batteries

Tue, Oct 19 2021

SEOUL — South Korean battery maker Samsung SDI Co Ltd and global automaker Stellantis NV have agreed to jointly produce electric vehicle (EV) batteries for the North American market, a person familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Samsung SDI, an affiliate of South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics, already has EV battery plants in South Korea, China and Hungary, which supply customers such as BMW and Ford. "The two companies (Samsung SDI and Stellantis) have struck a MOU (memorandum of understanding) to produce EV batteries for North America," the person with knowledge of the matter told Reuters. The source spoke of condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. The person said the location of the battery joint venture is under review and will be announced later. In July, Reuters reported that Samsung SDI may build a battery plant in the United States, citing a company source. South Korea's Yonhap news agency earlier reported the two companies plan to build a factory in the United States, citing industry sources. Samsung SDI and Stellantis did not have immediate comment when reached by Reuters. Stellantis on Monday struck a preliminary deal with battery maker South Korea's LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America. Shares of Samsung SDI were up 2.6% as of 0300 GMT, versus a 0.6% rise in the KOSPI benchmark index. Dodge Viper to out-Hell the Hellcat with supercharged V10?

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The Viper wouldn't be the Viper if it wasn't the most powerful model under the Chrysler umbrella. But with the arrival of the Hellcat engine in the Dodge Charger and Challenger, the Viper has fallen behind in the bragging rights department: where the new supercharged V8 produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated V10 offers "only" 640 hp and 600 lb-ft - gargantuan output figures by almost any other standard, but crucially behind on the SRT power scale. Conner Avenue is going to have to do something about that.
Although the Hellcat's engine reportedly won't fit under the Viper's hood, SRT is now rumored to have another trick up its sleeve: supercharge the existing V10. According to the Pentastar performance enthusiasts at allpar.com, Chrysler has already taken delivery of the first such prototype engines so that it can begin the process of fitting it into an upgraded Viper.
The spooled ten-pot is tipped to produce around 800 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. More than that and the Viper's drivetrain, chassis and bodywork would have to be substantially reworked. Though beefier transmissions are available, fitting them would reportedly set off a domino-game of changes required to handle the added torque. Which may be something Chrysler would be prepared to do for the next-generation model, but in the meantime, 800 hp could prove enough to put the Viper back atop the Mopar performance ladder where it belongs, and give it an edge against the new Corvette Z06 to rekindle sales.

John Schneider's General Lee Dodge Charger up for auction

Thu, Jun 25 2015

Over 150 years after it was first adopted, the Confederate flag is disappearing from license plates, state-legislature flagpoles, and even toy cars across the American South. While some are ready to bury those Stars and Bars forever as a symbol of racism and slavery, others will miss them as an emblem of freedom. Regardless of where you stand, the emergence of this particular vehicle on the auction block couldn't have come at a more poignant time. It's a 1969 Dodge Charger, and as you can see it's been done up just like the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. While it may not be one of the cars used in the original television series, it's not without its provenance. The vehicle is the last of four that were customized by John Schneider, the actor who – long after the rebel flag ceases to fly – will forever be remembered for his portrayal of Bo Duke on that timeless television show. It's painted orange, emblazoned with the number 01 on the doors, the words "Bo's General Lee" above each window, and that controversial flag on the roof. It also features signatures and messages inscribed by Schneider, as well as by Sonny Shroyer (who played Deputy Enos Strate on the show), and by sportscaster and former pro basketball player Jalen Rose who once owned the car. It appeared alongside Schneider in commercials and films, and in the pages of the Mopar Collector's Guide. Now it's set to be sold off to the highest bidder this weekend by Invaluable Auctions and Julien's Auctions, where it's expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 – assuming the latest controversies don't hinder its chances.
