This is a one family owned low mileage car in very good condition for it's age. 318/auto a/c manual brakes. Pass. 1/4 was replaced in 1989 after an accident but looks to be done well. The entire car was repainted at that time. The floors are solid, but have surface rust as shown in the pics. The pics make it look worse than it is. The floors do not need replaced. The trunk floor has some minor surface rust, but appears to be useable with some sandblasting or ? The drivers lower rear 1/4 has some small bubbles and may need a patch, but the rest or the car is VERY solid. Minor surface rust at rear corners of rear window. I asked a Body man if they needed cut out and he said no way, just spot blast, still very solid. The glass is nice with no cracks or chips. The doors close nicely with no sag, confirming the low milage. The subframes are excellent inside and out. The suspension parts are very restorable with only a light dusting of rust, no nasty rust. Lower ball joints do need replaced, but if I were keeping the car, I would replace all the wearable items, They are 45 years old after all. The engine runs smooth and quiet after rebuilding the carb, and installing electronic ignition and new cap and rotor(Pertronix) The brakes were bled and a new master cylinder was installed. The inside of the gas tank is spottless as is the sending unit. The car sat in a garage since 1995, but we now have it running and driving. However, I would not drive it across the country just yet.The a/c comes on but is not cold. There are no visible signs of leaking , so it may just need a charge. The seats and headliner have some weak seams but are all there. The dash pad is nice but has a small crack on the bottom pass side not visible in the pics. The car is not missing any trim and all the stainless is nice. The car still needs some tlc but is an excellent start. I would love to keep it, but my son is heading to college and I can't have two toys. These cars are getting very hard to find in this condition, and you will not be disappointed. I cannot stress enough how good the overall condition is. Thanks for reading the long description.

2003-04 Dodge Viper recalled for sudden airbag deployment
Fri, 15 Feb 2013As if driving the old Dodge Viper (not the fancy new SRT model) isn't intimidating enough, imagine trying to wrangle that V10 beast and then suddenly having the airbags deploy. Yikes. That's apparently what could happen to some 3,660 Viper models from the 2003 and 2004 model years, and as such, Chrysler has issued a recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the car's airbag control module may fail, causing the bags or seatbelt pre-tensioners to deploy without warning while the vehicle is in operation. That's a dangerous scenario in any car, let alone one offering insane horsepower a near-total paucity of safety nannies should things get squirrely.
Owners will be notified this month about the recall, though a remedy is not expected to be available until later this year. Scroll down for the full NHTSA statement.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets brace of new videos
Wed, 21 May 2014Yesterday's big announcement focusing on the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat had plenty of stuff going for it - information, pictures and the rabid enthusiasm that always accompanies such an eagerly anticipated reveal. What it was lacking, though, was a proliferation of videos of the new model.
Sure, yesterday's news came with one clip, but today, Dodge has come through with five videos. We've arranged them in what we think will be the most entertaining order, covering the powertrain, before moving on to exterior and interior design, then on to a full CGI dissection of the SRT Hellcat before capping things off with a piece on the non-supercharged Challenger SRT392.
Take a look below for all five videos, then head into Comments and let us know what you think.
2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven
Wed, Feb 8 2023POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods. However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows. Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS. Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence. Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
