1965 Dodge Coronet 440 Hardtop 2-door 4.5l on 2040-cars
West Liberty, Kentucky, United States
1965 dodge coronet We wanted something different for a 2014 power tour car and found this in a building last winter. We bought it with a 2nd owner title in the grand sons name and a story of the 22,000 miles being right. I went through this car end to end top to bottom for mechanicals and was very careful not to alter the car in any way. the dirt and grease that was on it still is on it the dead wasps in the windshield all have names and are my cruising buddies. this car has not been cleaned since the 90's and won't be cleaned as long as I own it. I wanted a car to run a 2500 mile trip in the tour that looked like it was just pulled out of a barn for the ride. you can Fly in and DRIVE this one home. I have a clean and clear Kentucky title in my name and the car is plated, insured and driven. complete new brake system including all 4 wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, all steel lines all rubber lines, new rear drums,( front drums were reused but in great shape).and the parking brake works. the car stops great for a 4 wheel drum brake car. motor work professionally done fresh full gasket kit including rear main and head gaskets there are no leaks , all freeze plugs, new cap rotor wires plugs points and condenser, has a professionally rebuilt stromberg ww 2 bbl carb, all the motor mounts, hoses and belts are new, it has a new 3 core all aluminum radiator with a 10" electric fan, the transmission is un touched except for a fluid change and new front input seal and it shifts out great. it has new dual exhaust from the manifolds to back of transmission and some used turbo mufflers on it sounds great but quiet. exhaust ends at axle. you do get a little exhaust smell in the car it needs tail pipes. new wheel bearings and seals in the front all 4 ball joints are moog replacements that don't squeak like the old ones did. the steering is tight and responsive with a new pressure line and fresh fluid. it has 4 decent tires on it. all tires hold air and are road worthy but were used. it has a rim for a spare in the trunk with the jack kit and 4 hubcaps. it has a new fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, sending unit and fuel line. new carb see above the lights turn signals all that fun stuff works on the outside of the car. the interior running lights work everything is there on this car except one piece of trim that goes on the driver's side rocker. i do not think this car has ever been apart except 1 fender was replaced in the 70's form a minor fender bender . didn't touch the grill, bumper or inner support structure. it was very minor whatever caused a fender replacement on to the stuff that needs attention the inside turn signal indicators do not work all the time the gas gauge does not work all the time. the Speedo jumps around some and whines sometimes ( common issue is dirt and a bad ground).the radio works but the speaker is dry rotted horribly. it needs 4 shocks . the cooling fan needs a automatic relay or temp sensor switch wired in (right now fan has a plug in that you have to manually plug in under the hood) . the seat covers are shot seat frames are good. the carpet is great but faded some. the head liner is gone but all the bows etc are still there to put a new one in. the body is in over all great shape. there is a soft spot in the passenger side floor pan whir the exhaust used to run close , the front fenders need lower rear patch panels ( there $50 a side). it has 2 soft spots in the trunk floor that a dollar bill will cover. the passenger side trunk drop down needs replaced ( parts available) there is a rust spot on the outside of the pass quarter that is about 2" long from a scratch rusting, there is a 6 ft long 1/8" deep crease in the pass quarter that is real minor, the driver's side quarter needs a little love on the trunk drop down the trunk lid is rotted along the back from mouse p*ss. the car was undercoated and structurally excellent. come by drive it. we will put it on a lift so you can check under it. I will take it to a Indy mechanic of your choosing within 50 miles for a inspection at your cost. The car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this auction. this is a 3 day no reserve auction. this car will NOT be re listed with a lower starting bid. $500 deposit due in 48 hours. the remainder will be paid in cash or postal money order on pick up or before releasing the car. I will help load it for free. shipping is buyers responsibility but i will be flexible and help loading. I will do whatever title work you need to transfer the clean Ky title in your state. I can hang on to the car for up to 30 days. I can deliver the car to you within 250 miles from 41472 for $1 a mile but I am driving it there. if you have any questions give me a call 606-495-6219 Jason G. a close family member is ill and i am happy to sacrifice this car to help them make it day to day |

Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper
Fri, 08 Feb 2013It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
2016 Dodge Viper ACR priced from $117,895
Tue, May 12 2015Fancy getting your hands on the all-new Dodge Viper ACR? Prepare to shell out at least $117,895, not counting destination or gas-guzzler tax. Those two add $1,995 and $2,100, respectively, for an out-the-door price of $121,990. That's $32,900 more than a base 2015 Viper, or the equivalent of a Challenger with a few options. As we explained previously, the ACR model doesn't do much for outright power – the 8.4-liter V10 offers up only five more ponies than before – but it does add suspension and aerodynamic upgrades that make this particular Viper far more potent on the track. The order books are officially open for the ACR, so if you've got the coin, get in touch with your local dealer. Until then, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the ACR's pricing. Would you shell out $118,000 for the ultimate Viper? Unveiled last week at the revamped Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, the American Club Racer model of the iconic, hand-built American supercar will have a starting U.S. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $117,895 (excluding destination and gas guzzler tax). Mopar unveils Dodge Challenger Drag Pak [w/video]
Sat, Jun 27 2015Dodge is going drag racing, and it's doing it with an all-new version of the Challenger for NHRA's Sportsman class. FCA's Mopar parts and performance arm announced the new Challenger Drag Pak Friday, showing off a version with a 354-cubic-inch (that's a 5.8-liter, by the way), supercharged V8 and a 426-ci (7.0-liter), naturally aspirated V8 – both Hemis, of course – that can get the big coupes through the quarter-mile in "the eight-second range." While the two engines deliver similar performance, at their base, they're quite a bit different. The supercharged model uses a cast-iron block, while the 426 has aluminum for both the block and head. That said, both models get customized engine calibrations, and are mated to unique, race-spec automatic transmissions. But drag racing is about far more than just outright power. Mopar significantly updated the four-link rear suspension, adding a four-inch rear axle from Strange Engineering, along with an aluminum, nine-inch third member, while the rear-axle housing has been strengthened in general. Both the rear shocks and front struts can be adjusted for rebound and compression, too. Lightweight 15-inch wheels, meanwhile, are shod in super-sticky Hoosier drag radials, with nine inches of tread in back and 4.5 inches in front. The new Challenger Drag Pak should run the quarter-mile in "the eight-second range." In the cabin, there's an NHRA-spec roll cage, a Racepak gauge cluster, and a handsome pair of Sparco racing seats. Outside, supercharged models get blue decals, while naturally aspirated varieties get black stickers, although there's more to the new Challenger dragster's exterior than just its decals. Mopar tweaked the big-scoop hood, promising it's easier to get up to check on the engine, and the designers also added trailer tie-down straps in both the front and rear. While the dragster was the big news today, Mopar officials also announced the two enhanced Scat Pack kits for both the Dodge Charger and Challenger R/T. The 5.7-liter Hemi models gain an extra 56 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque in the Scat Pack 2 thanks to a new cam, valve springs, pushrods, and gaskets. The Scat Pack 3, meanwhile, adds 75 hp and 44 lb-ft, on top of the gains from the lower packages. That should be perfect for drivers who wish to snort in the face of their SRT 392-driving friends. The third stage adds a ported cylinder heads, as well as high-flow manifolds and catalysts.
