1956 Dodge Coronet Lancer on 2040-cars

Year:1956 Mileage:88000
Location:

Springfield, Oregon, United States

Springfield, Oregon, United States

Here's a car you don't see too often...  a 1956 Dodge Coronet Lancer, 2-dr H/T.  It is almost complete, but still a project.  Here is the description:

BODY:  very straight, some patches of surface rust here and there.  There is a small area under each tail light unit with some holes, as shown in close-up.  All the trim is there, with the exception of the LANCER script on each front fender, and the DODGE script on hood.  Some other trim pieces that don't  appear in photos  are in the trunk.  The antenna is gone, though.  This is a really solid car, in it's original gold & white 2-tone colors.  One tail light needs a red lens - it has 2 clear ones.

Chrome on front grill pieces is excellent.  Bumpers are straight but OK, and need re-chromed.

GLASS:  Driver's side window is cracked, and windshield has some delaminating going on one side (see close-up)

ENGINE:  This V8 Red Ram is a 315 ci poly motor.  It came from a '56 Dodge Royal donor car - it ran great when it was installed 3 years ago.  Still needs linkage hooked up. Radiator has been rebuilt.  I'm not sure about tranny, but the donor cars was a driver, so I'm sure it is OK.

TIRES:  they hold air - that's about it.

INTERIOR:  It needs totally redone. The original seat covers are still on seats.  Door panels are good for patterns only.  All door handles & window cranks are in a box.  Dash looks pretty good too.  I have 3 complete extra dashes, so if you need a part, I have it most likely.  Floors have been patched; drivers side has new piece welded in, and the floor is covered in what looks like fiberglass painted silver...not sure  what that process was.  But it feels solid.  No headliner, but bows are in trunk.  Trunk has one area of rust holes on left, as shown in close-up.  The bottom of the spare tire well is even solid!

This would make a really great project - it's all there and solid.  Unfortunately there is no title to this car.  It has Oregon license plates from 1956, ( 8E 1233) and the DMV shows nothing on record; it's been out of the loop a long time.  I will provide Bill of Sale.

Arranging transport is buyer's responsibility, but I will help on this end, such as towing it to a pick-up area.

Any questions feel free to call or email me:  (Terry) 541-726-8467  eves PST

Good luck bidding!  You won't be disappointed....

PS  Several photos did not load properly; I can email them upon request

2015 Dodge Challenger gets 6.4L 485-HP V8 Scat Pack

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

While it's not seeing the drastic facelift of its brother, the Charger, at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the 2015 Challenger is packing some upgrades of its own. It wears even more retro-inspired styling cues, and there are new 6.4-liter Scat Pack and Shaker trims.
If you thought the Challenger looked retro before, Dodge is taking things even farther with inspiration for the refresh coming from the iconic 1971 model. Up front, it has a new split grille, a larger power bulge in the hood and projector fog lights. At the rear, the classic inspiration continues with split LED taillights with Gloss Black trim, and a rear valance panel redesigned to make the 2015 model look wider and lower.
The '71 motif is carried inside as well with a high-sill center console and aluminum gauge bezels. There's still more than a touch of modernity, with an available 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and 7-inch customizable display between the retro-inspired speedometer and tachometer. For better safety, the Challenger is also now available with forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection. Stability control and electric power steering are standard across all models too.

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit prepares to keep Hellcats in line

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Earlier today, Dodge pulled the wraps off its 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat - a 707-horsepower sedan capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 mph. Naturally, the car debuted in a bright shade of pull-me-over red, so it was fitting, then, that Dodge also brought its newly updated 2015 Charger Pursuit to keep everything under control.
No, cops won't be able to spec their Charger cruisers with the 707-hp Hellcat engine (oh man, imagine the chase scenes...), but law enforcement officials will be able to choose from either a 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8, producing 292 hp and 370 hp, respectively. V8 models can be ordered with all-wheel drive, and Dodge estimates that with either engine, the Charger Pursuit can achieve up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode).
Other updates for 2015 include improved braking power, a seven-inch display in the instrument cluster, a five-inch display in the center stack, and a new vehicle systems interface that could make it easier for police squads to install computer and radio equipment.

Dodge CEO and Gas Monkey Garage dissect the 10-second Challenger Hellcat

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

So far, whenever we've seen the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 707-horsepower, supercharged Hellcat V8, the muscle car has been smoking its tires. Dodge is finally proving that the SRT can do more than ruin perfectly good sets of rubber, though. In it's latest video, company CEO Tim Kuniskis hands the Hellcat off to the guys from Gas Monkey Garage to show how quickly the automaker's most powerful model can make it down the drag strip.
Of course, the only fitting contender to race against Dodge's latest top muscle car is its grandpa - a Hemi-powered 1971 Challenger, in this case. Before getting to the main event, the hosts also show off some of the SRT's unique features like the blanks in the grille that feed the intercoolers. We'll go ahead and spoil that the Hellcat makes its pass in the 10-second range, and the video admits the tires on the production version would take just a touch longer to cover the quarter-mile. However, you have to watch film to see just how quick it actually goes. Scroll down to see a classic example of American muscle drag racing against its modern legacy.
