OK...Here's something you don't see everyday! 1953 Dodge Coronet V8 Hemi in its original condition! This is the time when they really made cars. The previous owner spent a small fortune on this car.  This Coronet is mostly original and has its factory V8 Hemi engine and Gyro-Matic transmission. It is a 12V conversion. It does have Aftermarket Vintage A/C added that is ice cold. Also an elaborate sound system was installed that has several power amps and (4) 6X9 speakers mounted in the package tray as well as a double bass speaker in the trunk. This system is missing some power cables and we cant verify if it works properly.  We found 2 significant receipts from the previous owner in the glove box. One for complete dual exhaust 2008 $711.00, and one for engine rebuild 2006 $1292.00. These will go with the car for future reference. Master cylinder is new as are some brake lines, but the clutch pedal will need proper adjusting as it shares a pivot pin with the Master Cylinder. All linkages and springs are complete, but proper adjustment is required.
Paint looks somewhat newer, and does shine nicely, but is blistering on some lower areas. Some fading also see on deck lid and a little on roof. Roof has a round peeling area(maybe 8-10 inches?) that has been touched up. Car still makes a stunning appearance. Chrome looks great. Some floor pan work was done, then undercoated, but the undercoat is peeling. Really solid frame. Tires are super cool big white walls with great thread, but they are old and cracking. They might look great, but i don't think they will be safe long term. Air will seep out when they sit, so lets plan on some rubber. Engine does not leak, but it is a chore getting it started so please plan on trailering this home.Unfortunately, its been off the road a number of years and will need some work to make it a driver. The car will start if you tinker with it, but will run poorly. We suspect old gas so are not forcing the issue. The tank looks solid and does have a drain plug. This is a pretty easy project that will be worth a fortune. A true solid investment with original HEMI drivetrain. We simply don't have the time and need shop space. No nonsense auction. Highest bidder wins...Period. Good luck!

Dodge CEO and Gas Monkey Garage dissect the 10-second Challenger Hellcat

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

So far, whenever we've seen the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 707-horsepower, supercharged Hellcat V8, the muscle car has been smoking its tires. Dodge is finally proving that the SRT can do more than ruin perfectly good sets of rubber, though. In it's latest video, company CEO Tim Kuniskis hands the Hellcat off to the guys from Gas Monkey Garage to show how quickly the automaker's most powerful model can make it down the drag strip.
Of course, the only fitting contender to race against Dodge's latest top muscle car is its grandpa - a Hemi-powered 1971 Challenger, in this case. Before getting to the main event, the hosts also show off some of the SRT's unique features like the blanks in the grille that feed the intercoolers. We'll go ahead and spoil that the Hellcat makes its pass in the 10-second range, and the video admits the tires on the production version would take just a touch longer to cover the quarter-mile. However, you have to watch film to see just how quick it actually goes. Scroll down to see a classic example of American muscle drag racing against its modern legacy.

Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.

Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.
