Loaded with rare options, including a HO 360 cubic inch V-8 with a 4 barrel with heavy duty rods.  In 1975 only 0.3% of Chargers came with this engine option.  Car looks, runs and drives like new.  Beautiful Starlight Blue Mica (B8) paint over medium blue (B6) interior. Nearly every component on this car has been replaced or rebuilt.  Engine performance upgrades include, Competition Cams 268H10 high performance camshaft, lifters, timing chain and gears and valve springs, Weiand 8007 intake manifold, Holley carburetor, and high performance distributor.  If you are shy, this is not the car for you, it draws tons of attention, from folks at the gas station to people taking pictures of you on the freeway.  The sound at idle is not overwhelming, but has a deep bass tone through its new true dual exhaust system.  On the road crack the four barrels open and you get an awesome accompaniment to the exhaust note as the big V-8 swallows air and pavement.   On the freeway the car rides very smooth, quiet and comfortable.  I never planned on selling this car, which is evidenced in my no holds barred restoration.  Engine does not leak any fluids.  Comes with original owners manual and all documents from new, and a 1” thick file of receipts.   Local California car, second owner, located in Elk Grove, California.  If you have any questions please email or call (916) 425-4162.  If I do not answer, leave a message, I will call you back.  ----OPTIONS INCLUDE:---- Factory tachometer and gauge package, factory A/C, power front disc brakes, power windows, power seat, power door locks, super rare AM/FM seek stereo with floor activation switch, dual remote control exterior mirrors, interior power trunk release, factory digital clock (keeps perfect time), fender turn signal repeaters, power steering, electric rear window defroster, trunk carpeting package, light package, front and rear bumper protector strips. ----NEW or REBUILT:---- Rebuilt Transmission (seals, gaskets, clutches, bands, and valve body shift kit), U-joints and balanced driveshaft,  ENGINE: high performance cam, lifters, intake manifold, oil pump, timing chain & gears, all seals & gaskets,  including rear main seal, cylinder heads, (all cylinders have 155 PSI compression), Steering gear box, alignment, Oil pressure & temperature sending units, Distributor (high performance electronic), spark plugs, ignition wires, cap, rotor, coil, Fan clutch, radiator, high performance water pump, radiator cap, all hoses, accessory drive belts,  thermostat and NOS heater control valve, Entire brake system (pads, calipers, drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, vacuum booster), Electric fuel pump, fuel cap, fuel filters, Wiper bushings, NOS style “classic” wiper blades, Power window mechanisms cleaned and greased, Power seat mechanism cleaned and greased, A/C receiver dryer, expansion valve, compressor serviced with new oil, all seals, evacuate & recharge with R-12 (ice cold), Tires (with less than 1000 miles on them), Custom dual exhaust including mufflers and resonators, exhaust manifold heat wrap, Gauge cluster disassembled and cleaned, Real Time Engineering solid state voltage limiter, all bulbs  replaced with long life bulbs, all contacts cleaned, light dimmer switch cleaned, Hood ornament (NOS), Trunk ornament (NOS), Trunk carpet, Rear bumper (re-chrome), Courtesy lamps, Hood insulator pad, Silverstar H6024 headlamps.     photo 1_zps29004970.jpg    photo 2_zpse441a7eb.jpg    photo 3_zpseb1c9b2a.jpg    photo 4_zpsf220a1f0.jpg    photo 5_zpsa51c7b4d.jpg    photo 6_zps43d8ef2d.jpg    photo 7_zpsc3f3fe28.jpg    photo 8_zps64610180.jpg    photo 9_zps024ad13a.jpg    photo 10_zpsf8014feb.jpg    photo 11_zps5c6f3ea5.jpg    photo 12_zpsc7a6126a.jpg    photo 13_zps4e6f77eb.jpg    photo 14_zps44c6e4c6.jpg    photo 15_zpsdc14f69a.jpg    photo 16_zpsedb5b0d1.jpg    photo 17_zpse6973de7.jpg    photo 18_zps627da0b6.jpg    photo 19_zps3f7a151c.jpg    photo 20_zpsed020218.jpg    photo 22_zps18cf2cb0.jpg    photo 23_zps75d148fb.jpg    photo 24_zps83bfde0a.jpg    photo 25_zps68d24939.jpg    photo 26_zps78103a73.jpg

Performance doesn't matter anymore, it's all about the feel

Wed, Aug 24 2022

We've just had a week of supercars and high-end EVs revealed. Many of them boast outrageous performance specs. There were multiple vehicles with horsepower in the four-figure range, and not just sports cars, but SUVs with 0-60 mph times under 3.5 seconds. And it's not just a rarified set of supercar builders, comparatively small tuners are also building this stuff. Going fast is easy nowadays and getting easier. So what will distinguish the greats from the wannabes? It's all about how a car feels. This may seem obvious. "Of course it matters that a car should have good steering feel and a playful chassis!" you say. "Why are you being paid for this stuff?" But a lot of automakers have missed the memo. This past week I spent some time in a BMW M4 Competition convertible, and it's a perfect example of prioritizing performance over experience. It boggles my mind how a company can create such dead and disconnected steering; the weight never changes, there's no feel whatsoever. The chassis is inflappable, but to a fault, because it doesn't feel like anything you're doing is difficult or exciting. The car is astoundingly fast and capable, but it feels less like driving a car and more like tapping in a heading on the Enterprise-D. I also happened to drive something of comparable performance that was much more enjoyable: a Mercedes-AMG GT. It was a basic model with the Stealth Edition blackout package, and even though it had a twin-turbo V8 instead of a six-cylinder, it only made 20 more horsepower. The power wasn't the big differentiator, it was (say it with me) the feel. While not the best example, the steering builds resistance as you dial in lock, giving you a better idea of what's happening up front. Pulses and vibrations come back to you as you move over bumpy pavement in corners. The chassis isn't quite as buttoned down, either, providing a little bit of body roll that tells you you're pushing it. It's also easier to feel when the car is wanting to understeer or oversteer, and how your throttle and steering inputs are affecting it. The whole thing is much more involving, exciting and fun. 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Stealth Edition View 8 Photos That's also to say nothing of the Merc's sounds. That V8 is maybe not the best sounding engine, but its urgent churn through the opened-up exhaust gets your heart racing. It also seems like it's vibrating the whole cabin, so you feel it as much as you hear it.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with '600-plus horsepower' officially unveiled [w/video]

Tue, 20 May 2014

Dodge has officially unveiled the most powerful vehicle to ever wear the Challenger name - the SRT Hellcat - complete with over 600 horsepower courtesy of a supercharged, 6.2-liter Hemi V8. It will be offered alongside the 485-hp Challenger SRT.
The new, force-induced V8 isn't just the most powerful ever fitted to the Challenger, it's the most powerful eight-cylinder Chrysler Group has ever built. Power figures aren't finalized, so expect to see "over 600 hp" bandied about quite a lot. That fury will be channeled through either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. Yes, over 600 ponies through an eight-speed auto. So far, the only vehicle we know of that delivers more output through that many gears is the as-yet untested Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Sadly, we don't have performance metrics just yet, although if this thing can't crack four seconds to 60 miles per hour, we'll be pretty surprised.
As is the theme nowadays, the 2015 Challenger SRT features a number of driving modes, governing power output, shift speeds for the 8AT, steering effort, traction control settings and suspension settings. There are three pre-programmed options - Default, Sport and Track - and a Custom mode that allows drivers to mix and match to their heart's content.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
