2006 Supercharged Custom Dodge Charger R/t on 2040-cars
Waldorf, Maryland, United States
Price reduced and pictures of the immaculate interior added, I have to sell this car, and will entertain reasonable offers, but you can't go by the blue book with this car. Up for sale is a 2006 Dodge Charger that is
garage kept and has been heavily modified.
I am the original owner of this car and purchased it new off of the
dealer lot in 2006. The car started as
an SE trim level with a 3.5L V6. It was
the first ever LX platform car to receive a 5.7L Hemi conversion. First things first, the disclaimer on the
car. It will need a set of 3” catalytic
converters to pass emissions. I have
lived in an emissions free area since I’ve modified this car. Now on to the modifications. We’ll start with the drive-line. It has a fully chromed 5.7L V8 Hemi with a
Harrop Supercharger and intercooler on the motor. Behind that combo is a Gearstar NAG1 full
race automatic transmission, with Mercedes paddle shifters on the steering
wheel. The rear end is a 3.55 gear
ratio, equipped with Mopar gears, and installed by a Chrysler Master Tech. The brakes have been upgraded to the SRT red Brembo
brakes with stainless steel braided lines.
The exterior of the car has a Carbon by Design SRT style carbon fiber
hood, Grip front facia, Grip side skirts, and a Mopar rear spoiler. The roof and most of the trunk are painted
black, by a local body shop about a year and a half ago. The taillights are off of a 2010 Charger and
are also painted black, with only the four round lights and a small strip for
the back up lights showing. It looks
similar to the 1968 style tail light scheme.
The exhaust is a fully custom 3” exhaust, coming off of a set of Kooks
shorty headers. The wheels are 22”x10”
in the rear and 22”x9” in the front.
They are the viper style wheels and are custom painted black with white
accents to match the car. The tires are
Nitto 420S tires and have probably 85% to 90% tread left, I don’t drive this
car much. The suspension is fully
adjustable KW Coilovers on all corners with Eibach Sway Bars. Now to the interior. The car has SRT front seats, and black
leather with grey suede inserts going down the middle of the seats, with the
R/T logo embroidered in the middle of the seat back. The seat skins were made by Katzkin, and
installed. The pillars and headliner are
covered in grey suede to match the seats.
The car has a custom steering wheel with steering wheel controls that
all work and the paddle shifters. It has
two CANBUS monitoring gauges mounted in a custom gauge pod in the middle of the
dash. Right now the gauges are
displaying Boost in Hg, engine temp, transmission temp, and RPM’s. However, by pushing the buttons on the face
of the gauges, you can change them to whatever parameters you want to monitor. All interior plastic trim pieces have been
painted Stone White to match the car. It
is equipped with factory Navigation and a Kicker sound system, including the
trunk mounted subwoofer. While we’re
talking about the trunk, there is a plush carpeted trunk mat with the R/T logo
embroidered on it. The car comes
pre-wired for a passport escort radar detector and a rear view mirror mount for
the same detector. I think that’s about
all the major stuff to cover, the next thing is for serious buyers to come and
look at it. I am firm on the price and
will take any serious potential buyer for a ride to show the 600 horsepower and
massive torque that this car has. This
car has never been abused, so please don’t ask me to abuse it on a test
drive. Once you own the car, it’s your
business what you do with it. I hate to
sell this car, but I don’t ever drive it and I’m wasting money paying insurance
on something that sits in the garage with a battery tender attached to it. So, thanks for looking and please contact
with me if you want to come see it in person.
It is located in Waldorf, MD. |

Dodge Charger to slim down and run turbo four in next generation
Tue, May 31 2016The current Dodge Charger is getting long in the tooth. It was originally introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model. In car terms, that's an eternity, though it's been refreshed twice. Still, FCA US will keep the LX-generation car going, reportedly facelifting it one last time for 2019. After that, there are some bigger changes in store . Automotive News is reporting that the follower to the current LX Charger will lose almost 500 pounds and will once again offer a turbo four-cylinder. You might remember the front-wheel-drive four-banger Charger of the early '80s. The recharged sedan will be twin-turbo and it's going to use the 300-horsepower four-cylinder engine currently under development for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, AN says. The target weight for the future car is around 3,500 lbs, while the current car has a curb weight of nearly 4,000 lbs. Look for it to arrive in the early 2020s. The new platform will have a touch of Italian flair instead of the Daimler-Benz flavor embedded deep inside the LX cars. It will be built on an extended version of the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia's "Giorgio" platform, according to AN. Dealers were already shown a styling-buck almost a year ago. Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.
Fiat brand chief reassigned then resigns amid flagging sales
Tue, Oct 13 2015Jason Stoicevich was replaced as head of the Fiat brand in North America just the other day. He was immediately reassigned to another job within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. But according to Automotive News, Stoicevich quit the new job – and the company altogether – the very next day. The development comes amidst flagging sales for the Fiat brand in America. The introduction of the awkward-looking 500L multi-purpose vehicle has been largely regarded as a sales disaster in the US. Despite having just introduced the new 500X into the growing crossover market, and an overall upward trend across FCA group sales, the Fiat brand's figures have been dropping all year. While the Italian brand's volume has fluctuated from month to month compared to last year's sales, the number of cars its dealers sells on an average day has been firmly in decline. Fiat's downward trend reflects a general tendency in the market towards larger vehicles at the expense of smaller ones. However, the powers that be in Auburn Hills evidently felt that a change of leadership was in order, so it placed Dodge chief Tim Kuniskis in charge of all the company's mass-market passenger-car brands – namely Dodge, Chrysler, and Fiat – and moved Stoicevich to running the group's fleet and small-business operations. Stoicevich remained in charge of the company's California Business Center, but it seems as though he was as dissatisfied with the switch as his superiors were with the performance of the brand over which he presided, and so he apparently elected to step down and leave the company.
