1984 Dodge Shelby Charger No Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:1984 Mileage:132679
Location:

Aplington, Iowa, United States

Aplington, Iowa, United States

Up for sale is a 1984, I think, Dodge Shelby Charger. This is a parts car only because it doesn't have a title to it. I'm not sure what it would take to have a title made for it but I'm not going to mess with it. I will provide a Bill of Sale at the time of pick up.

I bought this car in hopes of fixing it up but now I am just tired of looking at it so it is being sold to the highest bidder with NO RESERVE.

This car does run...rough, but it runs. The guy I got it from had told me that he rebuilt the top end of the engine. I believe that he was telling me the truth because I can see the new gasket sealer that squished out of the gaskets. He also told me that he put a new clutch in it and it feels good when you step on it. I had to finish hooking it up so I have to believe him on that also. He also put a new radiator in it. I put a new water pump and timing belt on it. After doing that, I did have it running and drove it around the yard a little bit. With all that being said, it still needs alot of work to get it on the road again. I'm going to provide a partial list but I'm sure that I'll miss some stuff. The interior need to be pretty much completely redone. The drivers seat will not sit up right without a prop rod behind it. The radio has been removed. Someone at one time added a bunch of switches to it that I have no clue what they go to.The headliner is coming down. At some point, the keys couldn't be found so there were new ones made to the ignition but not the doors so there aren't any door keys. There is a hole in the side on the passengers side door. It looks like someone bumped into it with a fork truck. The hood is not straight. The plastic pieces that were supposed to be covering the headlights are gone. The tires that are on it are junk. I put different tires on the front, but will be taking them back off. There is no battery. The original rims were replaced with some American Racing wheels. Someone lifted up the back end of the car with some blocks of steel (wouldn't be too hard to take them out). The paint on the car is poor and scratched up. The front brake calipers are on the passengers side floor. Like I said before, I'm sure there is more stuff but not that I can think of right now. If you want to know about something specific, ask me, and I will try to answer the best I can. Basically, buy it and like it.

This car will need to be trailered. The car will need to be picked up within 30 days from the auction ending but it would need to be paid for within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made.

HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!

25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.

Dodge Charger Pursuit nets quickest lap in police car test

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We wouldn't advocate trying to outrun the police, no matter what you're driving and no matter what they are. But if you see a Dodge Charger bearing down on you with blue lights flashing in your rearview mirror, you'd better think twice before attempting to flee, because the Charger Pursuit has once again emerged as the fastest police cruiser out there.
In the latest Police Vehicle Evaluation held by the Michigan State Police at Grattan Raceway, Dodge says its new Charger Pursuit AWD posted a lap time of 1:33.85. That's quicker than any of the other law enforcement vehicles present, but also makes it the quickest all-wheel-drive cruiser available to law-enforcement officials. That may not make it the quickest of all time, but that honor belongs to the rear-drive Dodge Charger Pursuit, which cuts a fraction of a second off its AWD counterpart's time with a 1:33.70. But in regions where the extra traction could come in handy, that's as negligible a difference as we've ever seen.
Of course, the annual PVE sessions held by the Michigan State Police take in to account a wide variety of performance tests, including top speed, acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy and ergonomics. The MSP has yet to reveal its full findings from its 2014 model year tests, but we'll be sure to bring them to you when they are published.

Chrysler recalling 67k trucks with manual transmissions

Tue, Dec 30 2014

Earlier this month, Chrysler announced the recall of some 280,000 pickup trucks over concerns that their axles could seize up. Now the automaker has announced an entirely separate recall of another 66,819 trucks over the springs that could break in the clutch ignition interlock switch. The recall affects Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups, as well as the Dodge Dakota and Mitsubishi Raider. The issue is relevant only to those trucks fitted with manual transmissions, from the 2006 and 2007 model years and manufactured between July 1, 2005, and July 31, 2006. Since a broken spring could, according to statements issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and FCA US LLC (previously known as the Chrysler Group) prevent the vehicle from starting, or cause it to move unintentionally once the ignition kicks over, the automaker will begin notifying owners of the affected vehicles just before Valentine's Day to bring their trucks into their local dealers to have the clutch ignition interlock switch replaced. FCA emphasizes, however, that the unintended movement would only occur "in rare cases" and only "if recommended starting procedures are not followed." Only one such case is known to have occurred, but it did regrettably result in a fatality. Statement: Clutch Ignition Interlock Switch December 29, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is launching a voluntary global recall of an estimated 66,819 older-model pickup trucks equipped with manual transmissions. The Company will replace their clutch ignition interlock switches at no charge to customers. An investigation by FCA US engineers discovered switches in certain model-year 2006 and 2007 pickups may be equipped with spring wire that differs from wire used in previous switches. The alternate wire may break and, as a result, the vehicles may not start. In rare cases, a vehicle may – if recommended starting procedures are not followed – exhibit unintended movement when its ignition key is turned. The Company is aware of one fatality related to this campaign. It stemmed from the single known accident involving this population of vehicles. The recall covers certain Dodge Dakota, Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and Mitsubishi Raider pickups. Switches with the alternate wire were not used in any vehicles produced before July of 2005, or after June of 2006. The Dakota and Raider are no longer in production.
