1974 dodge charger all original body. Original spare tire and jack original 14
inch rally rims with trim rings. The engine and trans are not original the car
started as a 318 car. And now has a 440 block and 727 I USED CUSTOM MOTOR
MOUNTS !!!! UNCUT ORIGINAL K MEMBER. Meaning converting back
To small block. Would be very easy to do but any way the body is absolutely
Solid as a rock the only rust bubble on the whole car is on the driver side rear
fender. Above the wheel and is about the size of a dime. And that's it. Same
with the underside. No rust or rot. At all. Clearly the car was never driven
in the winter or not a NY car. original paint it's a beautiful metallic green.
That really stands out and looks fantastic it's paint code G8 the car has a
very nice white factory pinstripe. Down each side to match the white by all top
the car also has factory hood pins I did remove the in car hood release and
factory safety latch but I do still have both of these parts.I also painted the
Valley pan And distributer cap the same G8 green as the body. And trimmed the
edlbrock intake plus mopar performance polished aluminum valve covers in green
see pics. looks very very sharp.the Interior is beautiful other that 3 small
issues that Are stated further down. The trunk, floors, Hood doors, windows are
all in fantastic condition.Everything works as it should in the electrical
department with the exception of the wiper motor but all the lights flashers
signals. Horn. And instrumentation works the Speedo is not hooked up because of
having the incorrect nylon gear in the trans but the speedo does work, the car
has the base model dash with the long rectangular speedo it's also a buckets and
console car. She goes down the road straight. Front end is very tight no
wandering at all due to frequent greasing front power disks read drums the
factory power steering was removed to free up some space. But even with the big
block it steers easy White vinyl top is in fair shape and could be replaced
or could not. The headliner. Could be replaced. It's some what discolored. And
has a mouse hole but the hole is hidden by the sun visor the dash pad over all
is in great shape but it does have 2 small Cracks. This could likely be
repaired. And not replaced And 3 small. Holes in the back seat I also believe
these could be repaired with out replacing the cover each smaller than a
quarter the engine is a 72 440 block. Bored 30 over. 4.10 stroke crank. From
440 source. H beam rods Stock length (.990 pin) JE flat top pistons and rings
with butterfly valve cuts. 509 mopar purple shaft cam full roller timing set
915 heads. With light gasket porting. Auto meter tack and oil pressure gauges.
800 CFM edlbrock carb with no choke billet steel mains with a stud girdle plate.
Kit from 440 source ( makes the bottom end stronger reduces flexing under high
rpm an heavy loads ties the mains. To the block ) And all engine fashioners
are ARP ( main studs , rod end bolts, head bolts, ) 8qt low profile deep sump
gold milodon oil pan and correct pickup. And a high flow oil pump. Also a high
flow aluminum water pump and edlbrock mechanical. Fuel pump good for up to 600
HP. Under the hood is very very clean looking all the electric wiring is nicely
loomed. the fuel lines and vacuum line is done up in a polished simulated steel
braid with a nice looking polished fuel filter as well as many polished bolts
polished water neck polished throttle return spring and bracket. Ceramic coated
headers pypes 2 1/2 inch x pipe exhaust With race pro mufflers. Factory 11 inch
torque converter Custom worked by CTI in Nedrow NY the stall is aprox 2500 (
matched to cam) and the internals are all heavy duty .The trans is a reworked
727 full manual valve body. (No kickdown linkage ) brand new pressure plates.
Filter bands adjusted. Completely gone thru and rebuilt by a professional tranny
shop.
The rear end is an 8 1/4. With 391 gears and a mopar sure grip I think It
would be a good idea to put a 8 3/4 in or a Dana but not required. And if the
buyer would like I have a 8 3/4 out I a truck that I will include. 3.23 open
diff ( same as B body other than you would need to move the spring perches
and no pinion snubber ) And their is somthing in the engine I can't put my
finger on it the car runs ok Just has an odd sound to it. That I haven't been
able to fully understand. So I will give you the absolute worst case. but it
could be a much simpler problem. I believe it needs Bearings in the lower end
but I'm not positive. As the Oil pressure is great at 50-70 psi I always ran
brad penn penn grade the engine was never driven hard or driven much at all to
be hones. Just to the Syracuse nationals last year a little around the show and
back home. So maybe a total of 50 miles but keeping with I give you worst case
info but it may not be that bad I will say the engine should be pulled
disassembled and rebuilt. Maybe a more skilled and experienced mechanic. Could
provide a better understanding of what the issue is and how to properly fix the
problem but I will in NO WAY MISLEAD ANY POTENTIAL BUYER. AS TO WHAT EXACTLY
THEY ARE LOOKING AT WITH THIS CAR good or bad. You will know everything I know
even if it may hurt me as a seller. At the end of the day my word is far more
valuable. As stated all the components of the engine are brand new. Like less
than 100 miles brand new. They are also top on the line parts Something like
4200 was spent just in engine parts alone and that doesn't include machining
costs ( line honed, bored .30 over , and deck truing) Also included is a second
cam shaft and lifter set from comp around 570 lift I have the grind sheet just
not right in front of my as I'm typing this posting to know the exact specs I
also installed 600 lift double spring valve springs the car has an electric
puller fan. Original mopar big block radiator and a custom double cooler tranny
cooling set up that is very nice My asking price and willingness to negotiate
price. Is reflective of the engine issues. I know people. Are generally
unwilling to pay top dolor. For something that needs work. But I also know that
this car with a nicely running big block would bring 15k or more so I'm not
going to just give it away either. For me I just lost interest In cars I don't
have the time to tinker like I used to and always spread my self thin plus I
never have the time the car deserves so it's time for her to go and give some
one else the chance to enjoy this wonderful carIt really is a great deal for any
mopar or muscle car lover if you have any questions, would like more more
pictures or a specific picture feel free to ask but I would encourage any
potential buyer to just come look if you're able to Pictures do not do the car
justice Ps the title is clean. I own the car no

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Chrysler recalls 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Chrysler has announced that it will issue three separate recalls that will cover as many as 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks for "steering-system tie rods that may have been misaligned during assembly or steering-system service." The vast majority of these trucks were sold in the United States, though some trucks in Mexico, Canada or overseas will be called in, as well.
The largest of the three recalls covers an estimated 842,400 model-year 2003-2008 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. Two smaller campaigns will bring 294,000 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, chassis cabs and 2008 Ram 1500 4x4 Mega Cabs; plus 43,500 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 4x4 chassis cabs into the dealer to be checked and repaired if necessary.
This is a very large recall, and Chrysler says it is "casting the net wider than necessary to identify those vehicles that require repair." The automaker estimates that "as many as 726,000 may not need repair."

NHTSA probing Ram recall pace, communication

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that it's looking into Chrysler Group's handling of a pair of recalls affecting roughly one million Ram pickup trucks. Reuters is reporting that the regulatory agency is focusing on the availability (or lack thereof) of parts and "poor communications" from the automaker in its investigation.
"Customers have been advised in accordance with the regulations governing recalls," Chrysler spokesman Eric Mayne told Reuters via email. "We are continually replenishing our supply of replacement parts. Chrysler Group regrets any inconvenience our customers may have experienced."
NHTSA disagrees, arguing that the recalls, which affect 972,000 trucks from 2003 to 2012, are being delayed by the lack of parts.
