1970 Dodge Charger R/T Clone with a dual 4 barrels
Clear Texas Tittle

Originally a 318 auto the car is now a 440 auto car with 2 four barrel carbs. This is a car we built several years ago and drove every day. Since my son went to work in Dallas it has set in my garage collecting dust. He wants to go to Law school so something has to give. This is a great opportunity to own a car that has not been rusted out or mis treated.
This car was completely rebuilt in 2007 for daily driving.
This is a great car. Most of the original sheet metal is there. Only the quarters and maybe the rear valance has been replaced. All original floor pans and trunk pan that have been under coated inside and out. It isn't perfect but the frame rails, floor pans and sheet metal all look good.
All lights were working when it was parked, believe they still are. Head light doors open and close good. New rubber strip under the hood. New trunk weather strip, new door and body seal rubber replaced. Good windshield and glass with all new rubber. Some of the side glass has the usual scratches.
The wheels are nice chrome, not aluminum, chrome with good tread on the tires.
The drive train was completely gone through. Rebuilt 440 motor from a 70 dodge truck with new 10.5:1 pistons, bearings, purple shaft cam and Edelbrock dual 4 barrel carbs. Professionally rebuilt bored 30 over no expense spared.
The transmission is a 727 rebuilt at a local shop with a good reputation.
The rear end is a 489 with an eaton 3:55 posi. All new bearings brakes, etc.
The exhaust is flow master 3" with 40's mufflers and competition headers.
The suspension was completely rebuilt with energy suspension bushings. New ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm, stabilizer bushings, shocks and bearings. The steering was getting a little sloppy so we bought a new power steering gear box that is still setting in the trunk ready to install.
The brakes are front disc from a 74 charger with good pads and rebuilt calipers, and new hoses. The rear brakes came from a 70 station wagon with the wider shoes.
New engine and transmission mounts. 4 core radiator recored in 2007. Power brake booster from a 70 R/T, chrome alternator, new power steering pump.
The interior has some minor tears in the drivers seat. We bought two new seat covers from year one and they are still in the box in the front seat. The rear seat still looks good. The carpets, dash pad, door panels, package tray, seal plates, arm rests, window cranks head liner etc. were replace in 2007.
It has a TIC-TOC-TACH, and fLoor shift console. When I got in it and started it the fuel gage didn't work correctly. It came up some but not all the way when I filled it up. Don't know why, the sending unit was new in 2007, all other gauges work. Some of the dash lights are out but you can read the gauges. The stereo is awesome with a CD player and sub woofer in the trunk, and an electric antennae.
All of the wiring was replaced with year one wiring harnesses.
The paint was awesome but now has a few minor blemishes as would be expected now that its 6 years old. It really cleans up nice but has a couple of minor chips, and a small place on the hood where the clear is peeled. They are small and not visible if your moving, but if you want to take it to the show you will need to have them spiffed up. A friend in the business did the chrome on the bumpers for me and the chrome is deep and shiny. The remote mirror is original and needs chromed to look as nice as the bumpers. The stainless is good with a few minor digs that can be straightened.
A lot of money was spent on this car. It was so much fun to drive but has been off the road since 2010 as you can see in the photos of the tag and sticker. I had to use a shot of ether to make it start after setting for months since it was last started. The carbs were sticky and it took a while for it to warm up. The brakes were a little squishy, not sure whats up there. May need bled or may just need driven. It wouldn't take much at all to have it road worthy. Keep in mind we drove the car into the garage and it has been started several times since, I did drive it to the gas station a few miles down the road to fill it up, but the tags went out in 2010 so it needs to be checked out and properly prepared before you take off down the highway. Not a lot of these left around so don't let this one get away.

This car is not perfect and I know i missed a few things, so please look at the pictures and ask before you bid. Also this is a 43 year old car, so. There is NO warranty and it is sold as is and will need shipped or trailered since the tags and sticker are out and it has been setting.

I will cancel bids from anyone with NO or BAD feed back unless you contact me first. I have heard all the scams don't waste our time. I will just report you and move on.
This is not an option to buy it is a binding contract. There will be a $1000 Paypal deposit that is NON-REFUNDABLE due within 24 hrs from the time the auction ends. The remaining balance must be paid for in person with cash, or a certified check from your bank will need to clear my bank before the car will be released. If I am not contacted within 24 hours  or the deposit is not made on time I will re-list the car. I will keep the car for 30 days from the end of auction or work with a shipper for a pick up date. If you need more storage time contact me in person and we can work out the details, however all payments must be made in the 30 day period.

If I am here I will help load it and do my best to assist with loading it for shippers, BUT, ALL shipping is the buyers responsibility. I am not always here but it can be picked up at anytime if you call ahead a bit. I will have someone available to release the car and take your money.
This is a nice car. Its not perfect but I have a reasonable reserve.  Me and my sons drove this car ourselves for many years. Call me with questions or ask before you bid. Come see it if you are near enough. After the auction is too late to ask and I will not refund deposits because you forgot to ask your wife if you could have it.  or its not what you wanted after all. I would like to maintain my good feedback so talk to me so this deal is good for everyone involved.
Non-payers will be reported and will receive bad feedback as it costs me money when it sells.
My number is 1-806-664-9778,  Good Luck and Thank You for bidding. Corky.

Dodge Durango Shaker concept: A 392 V8 in front of six Viper seats

Tue, Nov 1 2016

When done right, a parts-bin special can be a beautiful thing. This Dodge Durango Shaker concept for the 2016 SEMA show is one such vehicle, and it's easily our favorite Mopar debuting in Vegas. The key, of course, is pulling from the right bins. Take a tour and you'll see Charger, Challenger, and Viper pieces grafted onto this slick crossover. The featured special part is the big, 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V8 that's been dropped under the hood; it's sourced from the SRT Challenger and Charger where it makes 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. With that in place, the fabricators cut a big hole in that hood for the Challenger's awesome optional shaker scoop. It wasn't an easy installation; it required a custom spacer for the intake to make sure everything lined up with the hole properly. View 17 Photos Apparently there were some Viper seats lying around, so six of them were stuck into this Durango. Makes sense. It does lose a bit of people-carrying capability as a result, since only two seats fit in each row, and the seats don't fold for extra cargo room. A Dodge spokesperson attested to the fact that all three rows are usable, if not totally comfortable. But then stock third-row seats aren't always that comfortable anyway. Seriously, though, Viper seats. We don't care how comfortable or usable the result is. Although you might not give it a second thought, even the fuel filler needed some special attention. This piece was also lifted from a Dodge Challenger, and it was taken along with the surrounding sheet metal. Because of the different orientation of the filler cover on the Challenger, the builders decided the easiest way to get it to fit was to chop the fuel filler section out and weld it onto the Durango. The designers also put a little blue Stig on the cover. And those are just the cool parts that were hard to install. This Durango features plenty of other slick details, like the custom bumpers, fender flares, and side skirts. Everything is painted B5 Blue with matte black and carbon accents all around. Up front, the bumper hides a pair of fog lights stolen from a Challenger Hellcat – and yes, they're the ones with intakes in the middle. The grille is also a custom piece, losing the standard crosshair design for better airflow. The fender flares cover up some seriously wide, 305-section tires at all four corners, which are hauled down by Hellcat brakes. The rear bumper bumper contains a stylish center-exit exhaust with dual tips.

Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.

Dodge Viper production to end after 2017

Tue, Jun 21 2016

We can't say we're surprised, but we're still saddened to report that the Dodge Viper will not live on past the 2017 model year. It's had a solid 25-year run, though, and that's worth celebrating. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles does just that for the Viper's final model year, with five special editions (some of which seem less special than others, admittedly): The 1:28 Edition ACR, GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, VoooDoo II Edition ACR, Snakeskin Edition GTC, and Dodge Dealer Edition ACR. Instead of running through what makes each of these 2017 Vipers special, we'll direct your attention to the press release below and the images above. All but the Dodge Dealer Edition commemorate memorable Viper models of the past 25 years, and the GTS-R is probably the pick of the litter with its classic blue-on-white paint scheme. Unless you prefer to err on the side of gaudy, in which case Dodge has you (and your car) covered with Snakeskin Green. If none of these special-edition Viper models strikes your fancy but you'd still like to park a 2017 Viper in your garage, fret not. Dodge is still offering its "1 of 1" customization program for the Viper's final year of production. Finally, instead of dwelling on the past, even when that past is as exciting as the Viper's, let's choose to look to the future with the only logical question left unanswered: What's next?
