1970 Dodge Charger 500- 440 V8 With 727 Automatic on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Ohio, United States
You are bidding on an unrestored 1970 Dodge Charger 500. This car was born with a 383 (big block car) and currently has a 440 in it. Obviously this is not a number matching car. Has a 727 automatic with a console shifter. The car is very complete. Comes with the original bucket seats and rear bench seat (not in the car but pictured) that would need re-upholstered. There are different aftermarket bucket seats in it now. The car comes with an extra original Chrome bumper in nice condition (these go for over $1k on Ebay alone and were a 1 year run as the 69 and 71 had very different bumpers/grills). The 440 that is in the car now runs pretty strong and sounds exactly like you would expect it. It does have a slight exhaust leak in one of the headers. It has an Edelbrock aftermarket intake manifold and a recently replaced Holly Carb (no details on either, they were on the car when I purchased 3 years ago). I drove it about 30 minutes to where it sits now last fall with no problems other than non-stop "thumbs up" from all the guys I passed on the highway. The tires have never had any air added in the last 3 years and sits on the Magnum 500 wheels. I am not certain of the mileage on the car as the odometer stopped before I bought it. the body seems pretty straight and solid. Some pictures of the frame rails included. Its about as solid of an unrestored project Mopar you will find. There are not many unrestored that are this complete (of course, not original motor in this case) and in this good a starting condition. If you bring a battery, you can drive it home (within reasonable distance for safety of course since the breaks would need a good once over). Its been in a garage ever since I have owned it (again 3 years). The guy I bought it from in Indiana had it in a storage unit the whole time he owned it. There is not much of any surface rust. For the winning bidder I will also throw in the following restoration book written specifically for the 1970 Charger:
The reserve is set low for this rare piece of Mopar history. I will require a $500 deposit at the close of bidding. You will be responsible for pick-up or arranging for shipping. The car has a clear title in my name in my possession. Nothing funny about the title or ownership here. No bill or sale or any of that non-sense needed. If the car does not sell here, I will likely take it to Mopar Nats in Columbus and sell it. Get it now before the Mopar nation gets their hands on it. |

2014 Dodge Durango leaks ahead of NY rollout
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Even though Chrysler will reportedly discontinue the Dodge Durango after the current model's lifespan - said to be around 2016 - that isn't stopping the automaker from improving its full-size, three-row SUV. The vehicle won't debut at the New York Auto Show until tomorrow, but images are already leaking out ahead of the embargo lift, and they show that the 2014 model is getting even more aggressive styling to go with more technology inside and out.
Dodge limited its early press shots of the new Durango to just the R/T trim level, but this new look adds a meaner look to this model with more dramatic projector-beam headlights along with a "floating" crosshair grille and a restyled fascia. At the rear of the Durango, LED racetrack taillights show a family resemblance to the Charger and Dart, while a new rear fascia adds to the styling while also allowing for an integrated trailer hitch.
On the tech side, the instrument panel looks to have been redesigned to include a standard seven-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) gauge cluster, and it also appears as if Chrysler's well-liked UConnect system has been updated with the 8.4-inch touchscreen found in other Chrysler vehicles. The 2013 model's conventional console shifter has been replaced by a rotary knob for gear selection, suggesting that there are transmission changes afoot as well. We'll have more details when the silks slide off this big boy tomorrow, so stay tuned.
We cruised Woodward in the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/video]
Tue, 19 Aug 2014
We were definitely rock stars at the 20th edition of the Dream Cruise.
The yell came from somewhere in the crowd: "Hey Hellcat, push it!" We obliged with a jab of the throttle, and the 707 horses of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat roared to life. It went on like this. All weekend. It's one thing to attend the Woodward Dream Cruise, it's quite another to star in it.
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will come with a crate full of goodies
Thu, Feb 2 2017Dodge released its latest trailer for the upcoming 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, and it's all about the extra stuff that comes with the car. Each Demon will be delivered with a custom-painted crate, complete with metal serial tag with the car's VIN and the name of the owner. Inside the crate are 18 items, which will help make the Demon a dual-purpose vehicle. The company says that "each customer can decide at the time of order, or once they own the car, or even at a moment's notice that they want their car to favor street performance, drag strip performance, or something in between." Dodge announced that the crate contains matching spare wheels and Demon-branded tools. In the trailer, we can see some of the tools, including a jack, impact gun, socket wrench, and a tire-pressure gauge. We imagine that part of the plan is that owners can have an extra set of tires, perhaps some even stickier drag slicks, and have everything on hand to swap them out quickly. Dodge also revealed that it will include a "Demon Track Pack System" and "Direct Connection Demon Performance Parts." These items present more of a mystery, since the trailer only shows the wheels and tools. One of the official images (pictured above) shows the crate opened up, and what may be portions of a racing harness. So the Demon may include some safety parts that could be installed or removed to make it safe on track, or comfortable on the street for the driver and passengers. Assuming that any passenger seats are left in the car. Related Video:
