Up for auction is my 1969 Dodge Charger SE project car. She has a 383 under the hood with a 4 speed manual transmission. The car has power steering and was originally a A/C car but, the under the hood components have been removed. The car is a running project, with NO RUST!! The body is very straight with very good body lines. The car has the original sheet metal all the way around the car, and does not appear to have ever been in an accident!! The motor starts right up and runs pretty smooth but, she is a high mileage engine, and like the car needs a rebuild. She doesn't knock, but there is a little smoke on start up ( valve guide seals from sitting is my guess ). The car has sat for several years and has just recently been brought back into running status. The car bas been around the block on test drives but, that is it so I will say that she needs to be trailered home! The car needs a restoration or you can do some service to the car and get her into driver status pretty easy. She runs nice and cool, but is mean to start when it's real cold outside but, that's most Mopars!! She is a wonderful start to a project, and she is being sold with NO RESERVE, and the high bidder gets the car!! I will be open to all offers to end the auction early but, please do not ask what I am looking for make a fair offer and we will go from there!! GOOD LUCK

Engine/ Trans: The engine is a 383, non #'s matching engine with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carb and intake sitting on the top. The engine runs decent but, she has sat for many years. The car has power steering, and manual drum brakes. The car originally came with A/C but, the components are missing under the hood. The engine runs nice and cool and the steering box does not leak which is a surprise. The front suspension looks like the previous owner started to replace some parts like the idler arm, Pittman arm, and the bushings for the front end, the upper control arms are new, and all the ball joints are new also and she just needs an alignment. The 4 speed trans seems to shift ok, and doesn't appear to leak. I have no idea as to when it was ever rebuilt or the clutch condition.

Interior/ Exterior: The interior was very nice 10 years ago when it was completely redone but, she was left in the Vegas sun and you can see in the pictures it dried out some things. Overall the interior is very clean and complete, the rear panel took the worst of the sun and the cardboard backing warped. The windows all roll up and down correctly, doors open and shut well, the gauges all work except for the Tach. The gas gauge does work but, the float sunk in the tank. The hidden headlights do work correctly, and the horns are under the hood but they are no connected at the steering wheel.

The exterior is in good shape over all, the paint has faded but the body is in very good condition overall. The quarters are original and in great shape, the under side of the car is awesome, the trunk looks good, the frame looks good, and I do not see any signs of rust anywhere! Even the metal on the roof looks great, and usually the vinyl top cars have rust on the roof, this one looks great! The tires are dry rotted and the rims are pretty much rollers on the car. You can take the car around the block for a test drive but, that's about it with the tire issues. Just remember she is a Project car that needs attention!

Please remember that the car is a running driving project type car, and I have not done much to her since I got the car. I serviced the car to get her mobile, cleaned her up some but, that's it! The car will need work, and I didn't go through the entire car but, I have drove Mopars for some time now and she is a very solid project and you will be hard pressed to find another one this nice for a reasonable price! Even the rear panel behind the window is all original sheet metal! Don't miss out on this one!!!

The car is a project type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!!

Chrysler recalls AWD 300, Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.

Dodge celebrates big B-day with 100th Anniversary Editions muscle cars

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Being in business for 100 years is a HUGE milestone, so we hope Dodge has more in mind to celebrate its centennial than just a special edition package for the 2014 Charger and Challenger. Called the 100th Anniversary Edition package, this collection of cosmetic enhancements will be available in limited quantities for both cars at a cost of $2,500.
Ordering a Charger or Challenger with the 100th Anniversary Edition package means starting with either a V6-powered SXT Plus or V8-powered R/T Plus model. They can each be ordered in many colors, but only the High-Octane Red Pearl Coat above is an anniversary exclusive. Each car also comes with an anniversary-exclusive set of 20-inch, five-spoke wheels with what Dodge calls "Granite Crystal pockets," a texture that's also mirrored on each car's grille.
Of course, there are commemorative badges galore affixed to the exterior of each car, including "Dodge Est. 1914" fender badges and "100" logos on the center caps of each wheel. The styling theme of each car's interior is a bit more interesting, with Dodge designers trying to evoke "the patina and machinist legacy of John and Horace Dodge," the company's founders. To that end, the leather interior can be had in Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa, and each features a custom cloud overprint that makes the hide look like a working man's dirty dungarees. Designers also used brass-colored accent stitching on the interior's leather trim pieces, and affixed more "Dodge Est. 1914" badges to the front seat backs and floor mats. We do like the flat-bottomed steering wheel, and the Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition gets exclusive white gauges faces and the Charger black. The "100" on each car's speedometer is also highlighted in red.

Dodge bringing revamped Challenger, Charger to Big Apple

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

The 2014 New York Auto Show will be a big one for Dodge, as the brand has announced that refreshed versions of the 2015 Challenger and 2015 Charger will debut at the show. This is a particularly big deal for the two-door Challenger which, visually, has remained unchanged since is burst back onto the scene in 2008 and helped reignite the muscle car wars.
As a sort of hint, this announcement was accompanied by the picture you see above - the Super Bee logo in the Challenger's new instrument cluster. According to Dodge, the New York debut of a new "powertrain combination" - possibly with the high-output Hellcat V8 - will leave enthusiasts "abuzz."
As for the Charger, Dodge is promising a full redesign that should be a significant departure from the blunt, angry looks of the current model. At this point, there's no indication that the Challenger's new powertrain could be fitted to the Charger, although considering how mechanically similar these two vehicles have been, it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility.
