Up for auction is a very beautiful and legendary 1969 Dodge Charger, gold with a beige vinyl top in excellent condition inside and out. I bought it on ebay a couple of years ago for $20,000.00. When I bought it, the paint, body, vinyl top and interior were in excellent condition, but mechanically the car needed alot of work. I entrusted it with a reputable former Chrysler/Dodge mechanic who brought this legend back to life. The driver's side sun visor is signed on the opposite side by none other than John Schneider of the Dukes of Hazzard! I went to a ComicCon in Philadelphia a couple of years ago and he was there signing autographs, so I brought the visor with me. I had shown him a pic of the car on my celphone and asked him if he thought if I should have the car converted to a General Lee and he said that there were too many General Lees out there. He said that the gold color of this car was awesome, that it should be left original. I had the following items replaced in the process of having it restored mechanically:
- Replacement 318 engine
- New Brakes
- New shocks
- New Tires
- New steering wheel
- Repair of electrical wiring
- New dash clock
- CD stereo with 4 speaker system
- All lighting replaced
- New Exhaust
- Headers
- Electronic Ignition
- New Carburator
- & Much More
I had different plans with the car, but never got around to it. I am selling it because it deserves to be with someone who will take it out for rides and enjoy it. Because it is rare and valuable, I have been a bit nervous to take it out for rides. So I am likely going to buy myself a newer Mustang, a car that I won't be nervous about taking out for nice rides on the weekends. It still does need a horn, kickdown linkage and if you want A/C, you would need an A/C unit inside. Other than that, the car is beautiful inside and out.

Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production
Wed, Dec 10 2014Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.
Houston road rage incident devolves into all-out brawl
Tue, May 17 2016The video is no longer available. It appears the associated account has been terminated. Chaos erupted on a Houston freeway last weekend when an altercation spiraled out of control and ended up in a battle-royale style brawl in the middle of traffic. According to KTRK, David Dao and his daughter were traveling along FM 1960 on the morning of May 14 when they came upon a white Honda and a blue Ram truck parked in the right lane. The drivers and passengers of the vehicles were engaged in a spirited argument about something that had happened moments before Dao pulled up. Dao parked in his lane to block traffic in an attempt at making sure other drivers didn't hit the people fighting in the right lane, and instructed his daughter to start filming the incident in case they were needed as witnesses. As Dao's daughter filmed, the incident quickly escalated–harsh words were exchanged, a drink was thrown in a woman's face, and then the driver of the Ram kicked in the Honda's grille. "I couldn't believe it. As soon as he kicked the grille, I was like, 'This is going down now," said Dao. "I was thinking this is going to be bad. At that time, I knew because there was physical damage." As soon as the Ram driver kicked the Honda the entire situation went sideways and devolved into a huge brawl, with the people from both vehicles throwing wild punches and grappling with one another. A woman who was a passenger in the Ram attempted to break up the scrum but took a haymaker in the face for her troubles. Eventually, the fight broke up and the people returned to their vehicles which Dao assumed meant that the altercation was over. Apparently though, the Ram driver felt he hadn't made his point, and he reversed at high speed into the Honda, smashing the fascia and buckling the hood. The Ram then sped off westbound on U.S. 290 with the Honda on its tail. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the incident was not reported and there is no word what happened to the brawlers after they left the scene. Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
