1968 Dodge Charger R/t Hardtop 2-door 7.2l on 2040-cars
Claysburg, Pennsylvania, United States
This 1968 Dodge Charger R/T is basically complete. 440 Cubic inch engine. 727 transmission. 8 3/4 323 gear sure-grip rear. Vin # XS29L8B22238 Not a numbers matching car. The 440 motor is not original, but it has the high performance exhaust manifolds. I have installed an Edelbrock carb. And I have installed a new fuel pump this year. The rear axel housing appears to be original. I had the 727 transmission rebuilt around 2000. The car runs good, and has a 2 1/2" flowmaster X exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and the correct exhaust tips to represent the original R/T exhaust. The radiator has been rebuilt, and I installed a transmission cooler on the car. The interior of the car is complete and mostly original. All the seatbelts work. The exterior of the car is in pretty good shape with some rust bubbles on the quarters and the doors. The headlights and lift-up covers work properly. The back bumper was re-chromed in 2000 along with front and back bumper guards. Trim is all in pretty good shape. Car was garage kept for the last 10 years. There is a small hole in the trunk floor, and the driver's side floor has been patched with metal. The car still has the original undercoating on the frame. The passenger side rear wheel brake cylinder is leaking, but I have 2 new ones to give to the new owner. This car is a very good car, which just needs a little freshening up. An R/T in this good of condition and mostly complete is not easy to find. I have a clear title for it on hand, and have been the owner of this car for close to 18 years. Please only serious bidders! A $1000 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close, and full payment is required within 7 days of auction close. Buyer is responsible for the pick-up or shipping of the car. Car sold as is with no warranty or return. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, because the car is also for sale locally. |

Dodge offering novel 1-year lease on '14 Challenger and Charger models
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Dodge is just days away from unveiling refreshed versions of the Charger and Challenger at the 2014 New York Auto Show, models promising updated styling and new powertrain options. Depending on how you look at it, the company is either so confident in its forthcoming 2015 models that it's offering an interesting Double-Up lease deal on the current vehicles, or it's so eager to clear out existing stock that it's resorting to novel lease deals. In any case, what they present is an interesting scenario, one which allows buyers to get the existing model right now, and then trade up to the facelifted 2015 models in one year.
Starting April 17, when the refreshed cars debut through the end of August, buyers can lease a 2014 Charger or Challenger for one year and exchange it for a three-year lease on a 2015 model next year, with no additional money down and the same monthly payment. Customers can even switch vehicles when the new lease starts. If drivers want to buy the '15, they get $1,000 off the purchase price. To be eligible, both leases must use the same dealership and be financed through Chrysler Capital. The Double-Up deal excludes the SRT versions of both cars and Charger SE models.
To offset the flood of one-year-old models coming back to dealerships, Dodge has struck a deal with rental car agency Enterprise, which has agreed to buy them all. "One-year leases are highly unusual in the industry," said company spokesperson Ralph Kisiel, and the fleet sale deal is what makes it possible.
Dodge recalling 2k SRT Hellcat Challengers and Chargers for fuel leak
Tue, Mar 3 2015Bad news for fans of the obscene output of the Dodge Hellcat twins, as FCA has announced a voluntary recall of both 707-horsepower variants of the 2015-model-year Charger sedan and Challenger coupe. According to FCA, a total of 2,211 cars are being recalled after a dealer discovered a "possible fuel leak" during a pre-delivery inspection. Of the vehicles affected, the overwhelming majority, 2,012, were sold in the US market. The remainder were sold in Canada (148), Mexico (30) and just 21 outside of North America.
