Custom built 1968 Dodge Charger. The previous owner, after watching an episode of the Dukes Boys in which the
General Lee was turned into a 4x4 to chase some Jeeps decided he wanted a 4x4 General Lee of his own. So he found
a Charger body that was missing its floor....as well as a few other items and grafted it to a 2000 Dodge Durango
4x4 complete floor pan, frame, firewall, all running gear, seats and digital dash. The donor vehicle has fuel
injected engine, abs brakes, disc front brakes, air bags, cruise, tilt wheel, a/c, heat, 7in monitor with
cd/dvd/backup camera capabilities,Bluetooth capabilities and 10" subs with 750 watt amp. The tires are Dune
Grappler tires ordered straight from Nitto and a brand new extra tire in trunk. Engine is a 4.7 V/8 Auto
transmission.
The ending result is the style of a classic car, but the drivability and comforts of a new one!
It is autographed (and cleared over) on the trunk lid by Bo(John Schneider), Luke(Tom Wopat), Daisy(Catherine
Bach), James Best(Sheriff Rosco), Sonny Shroyer(Enos Strate), Rick Hurst(Cletus) and Ben Jones(Cooter). The car
also comes with a compound bow with fake sticks of dynamite is also signed by Tom Wopat and John Schneider.
Since I have owned the car I have gone through most of the suspension bushings, front shocks, replaced the a/c
compressor, built a custom bumper that is powder coated and recently replaced the top vinyl decal. I purchased a
complete decal set for the car so it comes with spare decals for the doors, trunk and the General Lee for the roof.
The car also comes with various new door and window seals. I also replaced the door hinges with new and doors
close very nicely. Also has a new battery. Currently there is 135000 miles on it and it runs flawlessly. The car
is very presentable and nice looking from any angle. There are a few small bubbles on the car and body filler used
as gauged from a magnet. The only real gripe I have is that the 4x4 shifter linkage was modified and likes to
argue to go into 4 wheel drive. The transfer case is fine…it’s the linkage that binds.
Driving this car brings a great big smile to your face....not to mention all those people you pass. There isn't a
day that I drive the car where I don't see a camera phone pointed in my direction....so you had better be a people
person if you buy this car. The exhaust has a very nice sound. Car is titled as a 1968 Charger and the title is
free and clear.

Dodge Charger to slim down and run turbo four in next generation
Tue, May 31 2016The current Dodge Charger is getting long in the tooth. It was originally introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model. In car terms, that's an eternity, though it's been refreshed twice. Still, FCA US will keep the LX-generation car going, reportedly facelifting it one last time for 2019. After that, there are some bigger changes in store . Automotive News is reporting that the follower to the current LX Charger will lose almost 500 pounds and will once again offer a turbo four-cylinder. You might remember the front-wheel-drive four-banger Charger of the early '80s. The recharged sedan will be twin-turbo and it's going to use the 300-horsepower four-cylinder engine currently under development for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, AN says. The target weight for the future car is around 3,500 lbs, while the current car has a curb weight of nearly 4,000 lbs. Look for it to arrive in the early 2020s. The new platform will have a touch of Italian flair instead of the Daimler-Benz flavor embedded deep inside the LX cars. It will be built on an extended version of the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia's "Giorgio" platform, according to AN. Dealers were already shown a styling-buck almost a year ago. 2014 Dodge Durango teaser reveals new 'racetrack' taillights
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Not wanting to let Jeep get all of the SUV attention for the 2014 model year, Dodge is unveiling a refreshed version of its Durango at the New York Auto Show. Teased in this image, all we can really tell about the 2014 Dodge Durango is that it will be getting Dodge's "racetrack" taillights similar to the Charger and Dart.
The chrome or painted strip currently between the Durango's Zorro taillamps have been removed to allow for a full-width LED array with "DODGE" lettering displayed more prominently above the license plate pocket. Parent company Chrysler also promises that the updated Durango will add "several new class-exclusive features," but stops short of saying what those are. Earlier reports suggest that among the changes, buyers will be able to look forward to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which ought to improve the three-row SUV's fuel efficiency.
Chrysler recalling 700k minivans and Dodge Journey for ignition switch woes

Chrysler is fighting it too and is now announcing a recall of 695,957 examples worldwide of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2008-2010 model years, plus the 2009-2010 Dodge Journey.
According to a statement from Chrysler, the models have a bad wireless ignition node detent ring in the ignition switch, making it possible for drivers to appear to have the key in the "Run" position but for the spring not to fully engage. It can then slip back to the "Accessory" position and shut the car off. If this happens, the vehicle loses power steering, brake boost and the airbags.
There is some disparity about the number of vehicles affected under this recall. In its statement, Chrysler claims that it covers 525,206 vehicles in the US, 102,892 in Canada, 25,591 in Mexico and 42,268 elsewhere. However, the recall announcement posted by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists an estimated 438,109 vehicles in the US. Chrysler spokesperson Nick Cappa told Autoblog via email that the reasoning for the different figures "will become clear at a later date."
