1968 Dodge Charger hard top with 1968 440 4bl engine and 727 transmission.  Car was originally fit with a 383 engine.  This is a super nice project restoration for someone to do. The correct color of this car is green, someone at on time repainted it.  I'm not sure if the interior is from a 69 or 68 Charger or not. I have owned this car since 2007 and have decided to let it go to someone who is good with Mopars or has that damn bug of restoring true classics to keep them on the road.  If you look closely at the pictures you can see that the interior is all there from dashboard to rear seats just waiting for proper attention. The dash is in good shape with the exception that there is a small crack in the middle of it, nothing major or distracting. This is not a basket case car like a number of them that you will come across.  The chrome trim is in wonderful shape as well as the door and rear window glass.  There is a small round rock chip in the windshield.  The passenger compartment floors are in not too bad of shape.  There are some rust holes in front of the front seat section and slight surface rust in the rear.  The roof is solid with just light surface rust.  The panel just below the window is solid and not rotted out . I ripped out the shag carpet(?) that was on the floor to see what was under there. I was pleasently surprised to find what I found, solid under the front seat and in the rear..  The rear is fine.  The rear trunk floor area will have to be replaced as you can see in the pictures.  On the passenger side rear roof where around where you would attach a complete quarter panel there is a slight indentation.  No worries due to you would be replacing the rear quarters with full ones anyway.  The outer rockers will need to be replaced.  The rear quarters will need replacing, the outer wheel wells will need replacing, the front fenders will need replacing, the doors are solid and seem to be from a 69 Charger due to the door lock position on them. I would prefer to have them that way to keep the thieves from unlocking and stealing the car, at least slow them down if they decide not to destroy the windows. The rear trunk lid can use a little media blasting to clean them up.  The front hood could also use media blasting.  This is an A/C car by the way. It looks to have been converted from a column shift to a floor shift.  The floor console has a crack to the rear of it and all of the windows roll up,down and are unbroken.  You are not going to be able to just get in and drive as I mentioned there is no engine in the car.  This is a super nice project car for someone. .....Did I forget to mention that there will be extra parts such as doors from a 68 Charger--these are shells, There are also another 2 pair of doors that have windows in them that are rust free.  There are a total of 6 doors that are original and mostly rust free. Two of the doors have a small dent, nothing major, the shells have a small amount of rust and bondo on them. I bought 2 front fenders that were from a 69 Charger that have some rust on them but nothing that concerns me, I could make them work fine as they are far better than what's on the car right now.  There are also a (couple) of replacement front grills that will be going with the car too. One is from a 68 Charger and the other is the frame with a partial grill with damage to the left plastic section from a 69 Charger.  These are not after market parts, all original Mopar products.  Very expensive and difficult to locate. There are seat covers that are tan in color that are new from Legendary Interiors that I was going to dye and install that are going with the car.  I also have a front bumper that is in good driver condition and a front used valance panel that goes with this car from a 69 Charger. I have a rear bumper with the frame attached from a 69 Charger that also goes....There's a nice floor shift console with the shifter connected to a floor section to be welded in a car that you may want to convert  that was cut out of the donor car that is in great shape too.  I have a left and right front fender splash shields that are also included.  There are 2 very nice tail lamps with the housing that are included.  There are at least 5 Charger script emblems and 2 badges that go along also.  Lots of car and lots of parts....If you bought this car with parts included for, lets just say 11,000.00 and put what would be about 5000.00 in parts into it, if done right you could have a car worth twice as much or more, and have a very nice investment or collectors bragging rights.  You do the math. You make the bid, bid to win, you're going to get a great deal.  I think I forgot to mention that this car has a posi rear end.  I don't know the make, but I sure as hell know it's there.  If you need more information, email and I will answer as soon as I can.  To be fair to bidders I do not give the reserve price, you'll have to bid the highest on what it's worth to you.  This car is for sale not for bidders to bid and then decide if you want it or not. I don't play that, I'm serious.  This is a binding contract and I will treat it that way.   Once you bought it, it is yours. If you can't afford to bid please don't.  If you have less than 10 feedbacks, or more than 2 neg. feedbacks and would like to bid contact me first or you may be cancelled out.  This car is also being sold locally and I have the right to end this auction early.   I try to be straight with you and I expect the same.  Thanks for looking and bid to win.  Good Day.

Pontiac Aztek enjoys rebirth thanks to Millennials

Fri, Sep 11 2015

Apparently, Millennials – those between 18 and 34 – aren't afraid to look different on the road, and they like performance, too. A new study by Edmunds is discovering some surprising vehicle choices by this group. Among them, the long-derided Pontiac Aztek is getting a new day in the sun with 25.5 percent its buyers coming from this generation in the first half of 2015. For comparison, Millennials represent an average of 16.8 percent of used car purchases. The Aztek is slowly shaking its reputation as a styling abomination, which seems tied to its appearance on Breaking Bad. The show premiered in 2008, and the Pontiac has been on this list for four of the past five years, according to Edmunds. It even led the pack in 2010. A recent Retro Review from MotorWeek also showed that the crossover wasn't always so hated. While it's still a shock to see the Aztek on any popularity list, the awkward-looking crossover only ranks sixth among Millennials. The vehicle with the biggest portion of buyers from the generation is the Dodge Magnum with 27.6 percent. According to Edmunds, the bluntly styled wagon is especially popular in Detroit and Chicago. The Chrysler Pacifica comes in a close second at 27.3 percent. When it comes to used cars, value and utility appear to trump just about anything else for many Millennial buyers," Edmunds analyst Jeremy Acevedo said in the report. Young buyers aren't afraid of sporty rides, either. The Subaru WRX has 26.4 percent Millennial buyers to rank third place on the list, and the Volkswagen R32 takes fifth at 25.7 percent. Just a few points lower in seventh place is the Nissan GT-R at 25.4 percent, and the final performance machine in 10th place is the Lexus IS-F with 24.7 percent. Related Video:

Dodge Scat Pack for 5.7L Hemi V8 detailed, priced

Sat, 05 Apr 2014

Dodge revived the Scat Pack name back in November at the 2013 SEMA show. At the time, though, we were short of details on forthcoming upgrade packages, which were destined to add some oomph to the Challenger, Charger and Dart. We're still waiting to hear about the upgrades to the Dart's 2.4-liter four-pot, but Dodge has gone ahead and released the details on the upgrades to the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 in the Challenger and Charger R/T.
As we detailed in our original post, three different Scat Packs will be available that will allow customers to upgrade their cars without voiding the warranties. Starting with the $2,195 Stage 1 kit, owners will net an extra 18 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque thanks to a Mopar-branded cold-air intake, exhaust and ECU ref lash. Stage 1 is also the only package that could be installed outside of a Chrysler-authorized service center without voiding the warranty (a mechanically competent owner could even do it at home, we're told by Dodge). Stage 2 builds on the entry level Scat Pack, and adds performance camshaft kit, which boosts output over the stock 5.7 by up to 30 hp for $1,895. As with the Stage 1, the ECU is tweaked.
For those that want to go whole hog, they can add the Stage 3 for $4,995. The top-tier gets quite serious, adding CNC-ported cylinder heads, as well as high-flow headers and cats. Output over stock is 58 hp and 47 lb-ft of torque. Each kit comes with a pair of badges, just in case owners want a bit of visual flair.

Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power

Tue, 21 May 2013

A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.
