1966 Dodge Charger Base Hardtop 2-door 7.2l on 2040-cars
Somerset, Kentucky, United States
Original dark red car, I've owned and garaged last 10 years. Gas and tach gauges don't work but has tach under dash. Inside hood release cable broke but can open hood without it. Unknown if 84,000 miles is completely accurate but should be close. Tires are new red lines 15". Has 383 emblems on fenders, have 440 Magnum emblems if you want to put them on. I have put about 2,000 miles per year on this car since I bought it in 2005. Transmission was rebuilt in 2007 or 2008. This was originally a California car from San Jose/San Francisco area. I moved it to Texas in 2005 and then to Kentucky in 2012. It has not driven on the snow! Tried to take pictures of beginning rust but only left rear seem to be enough to actually show. There are several more spare parts such as the tail light lenses, complete set of original style seat covers, gas tank and pretty much a complete set of ball joints. Most of the spare parts were bought because parts are hard to find so I got them when I could. I knew if I ever had a front end accident, they'd never find a front end so that is why I have a complete grill including headlights. Radiator and clutch were replaced in 2007. Windshield was replaced in 2009 or 2010 (badly pitted over the years). I have always added octane boost and lead substitute to the gas to preserve the engine. Oil change places have ALWAYS comments on how clean the oil is. My age and lost job require sale. Love driving this car! - Buyer is responsible for shipping, $500 at close of auction and balance in wire transfer or cash within 7 days. I will accept a cashier's check, money order or personal check but it MUST clear the bank before I release the car (look at about a week).

Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
The Walter P. Chrysler Museum is shutting down permanently this December
Thu, Nov 10 2016It is with disappointment that we report the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, MI, will be closed down permanently at the end of this year. The museum, which closed in 2012 after not being able to cover costs, was recently reopened to the public on alternating weekends starting in June, but Chrysler made the decision to shutter it altogether after its final day of operation on December 18, 2016. The reason for this is primarily because FCA needs more office space, and the company decided to convert the museum for that purpose. The the cars will be moved to storage after the closure, and they'll be shown at various events. However, they'll only be able to be seen together for two more weekends. Those weekends include those of November 19 and 20, and December 17 and 18. The museum will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on those days. If you can, we highly recommend visiting the museum. Adults get in for $10, seniors and retired FCA employees for $8, kids between 6 and 17 for $6, and kids under 5 for free. It also has some fantastic cars including concepts from the 1950s to the 2000s, oddball performance vehicles such as the Omni GLH-S, and of course plenty of fascinating history. And if it makes any difference to you, there's even a purple Plymouth Prowler you can sit in. Just make sure you don't wait too long to make up your mind about visiting. Related Video:
