Up for auction is a 1966 Dodge Charger Fastback! If you are looking for a great driver with some attitude then this is the car for you!! The red exterior on the white interior really pops!! This is an awesome color combination that will get you thumbs up and attention where ever you go. The car starts right up every time and you can drive it anywhere. If you turn the electric cut outs on that are connected to the exhaust, you feel like you are in the finals at the NHRA. It sounds awesome! You will rattle your neighbor's windows!! These cars are getting harder and harder to find in this "uncut" condition. Remember...........they are only original once! Although this car is not a trailer queen, it is a very presentable car for the money. The car has an older repaint, but it shines right up! You would be proud to show up at your local car show in this 1966 Dodge Charger Fastback........when is the last time you seen one at a show? Break the mold of being another Camaro, Chevelle or Mustang guy! Show up with your Mopar! You will stand out in a crowd....especially with this car! Check out the specifics below.

- ALL ORIGINAL SHEET METAL
Engine and Transmission
383 Engine with a 727 Transmission
The engine has a mild cam with an Edlebrock Aluminum intake and a Holley 750 Carb. The transmission was just treated to a flush with a new filter along with all new gaskets and seals ($600)
Interior
The interior has a newer Legendary seat covers and foam as well as a 21 piece black carpet set (Both are a little over a year old). The door skins, trim and chrome are all original and show very nice. They all have average wear for a car of this age. There is one crack in the dash which is about 2'' long (see pic). The radio is original and works, but is not hooked up.
Electrical
Headlights, taillights, parking lights interior lights, dash lights ( electroluminescent) all work. The tach and the speedometer do not work. There is an aftermarket Sunpro Tach on the steering wheel and an oil pressure, volt and heat gauge mounted underneath the dash.
Mechanically
The car runs great and needs nothing but for you to turn the key and drive it!!
Body
The body appears to have all of its original sheet metal and has not been patched or cut. The underneath of the car is very good.
Glass
There are no cracks or chips in the glass. It is the original glass and does show some normal wear. The windows all work fine.
Bumpers
Are in good shape and show normal wear
Tires & Wheels
Tread is good on the tires and the rims clean up nice
Misc Notes
Please keep in mind this is a very nice driver quality car. I am not asking $40,000 so please do not expect something for nothing. I am not down playing the car by any means. I challenge you to find another car this nice at this price!! YOU CAN'T! I have the electric antenna, but it is not hooked up. It has some small bubbles on the bottom rear quarter...no big deal to me but it might be to somebody (see pics). Could use some weather stripping on the driver door (has 1 bad place about 2" long)....again it does not take away from the car but I want to mention it. The repaint on the car is a 5-10 footer shines up very nice.......just look at the pics...you can see for yourself the car looks great! I have had my fun with the car now it is your turn! Take the wife, the kids or whoever out in this BAD A** Charger and have some fun!!

Dodge Vipers selling for $480k in China
Wed, Apr 29 2015Want to get your hands on a new Dodge Viper? Be prepared to pay dearly. It starts at nearly $90k here in the US, but that's nothing compared to what you'd have to pay for one if you lived in, say, China. CarsNewsChina.com reports on one Viper available in Beijing for an eye-watering 298 million yuan – equivalent to about $480,000 at today's exchange rates and representing more than a 500-percent markup. Part of that premium comes down to the Chinese tax code that charges a reported 60 percent for anything with an engine displacing over four liters. And the Viper's, we needn't remind you, is more than twice that. It naturally costs some to import a car to China as well, but most of the rest is pure profit. The Beijing dealership reportedly gets the cars from dealers in California, has already sold three and plans to import several more. The dealer can also get you (or wealthy Chinese individuals) a Corvette Stingray for a comparatively cheap 1.73 million yuan (or $280k). Related Video:
This or That: 2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10 vs. 2005 Subaru WRX STI [w/poll]
Thu, May 7 2015Some cars, due to ultimate desirability, particular rareness, or spectacular performance/prestige eventually become collectible. It's darn near impossible to know which ones will make it into the rarefied stratosphere of collectibility – why is a late 1960s AMC AMX so affordable these days, whereas prices for late '70s Pontiac Trans Ams are soaring? – but there are some useful indicators to keep tabs on. We're not exactly experts on investing, but we do know cars. As such, we've decided to take our non-expertise on one hand, combine it in the other with our knowledge of all things automotive, wad it up, throw it out and ask for your forgiveness. Or something like that. I've challenged Senior Editor Seyth Miersma to choose a car he thinks will become a future collector's item that's not more than 10 years old, and for no more than $25,000. I've done the same, and we vigorously argued for and against each other's picks. I feel good about my choice, but I don't have the best track record in these contests (I've lost three times, won twice, but they've all been pretty close), so, while I'm not going to beg (please vote for me!), I do hope you find my argument convincing. But first, let's hear from Seyth: Miersma: Ten-years old or newer makes this challenging. At that age most vehicles feel like a plain old used car to me, few hit the "classic" button. But the Subaru WRX STI has always been a special car, and the 2005 cutoff year proves to be very attractive for the parameters of our contest. It's rare; with fewer than 5,000 STI models sold that model year. It's probably the best looking WRX STI ever sold in America; narrowly avoiding the dreadful "horse collar" front fascia. And it's got one of the more die-hard car-geek followings out there. For $25,000, you can also still find examples that have reasonable miles, are in good condition, and haven't all been molested by grown-up Initial D wannabes. With the street racers hacking up collectable examples every day, I like my odds for steep appreciation by way of conservation. I couldn't agree more. It really is difficult to predict what cars will catch the eye of collectors, and the WRX STI seems like a pretty good choice. But I think mine is even better, and I can't let him know that I'd love to park just such an STI in my very own garage. And so goes my argument: Korzeniewski: I like your choice as a driver, Seyth. I'm less convinced of its status as a sure-fire collectible.
FCA recalls 1.1 million vehicles worldwide due to confusing shifter
Fri, Apr 22 2016Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1.1 million vehicles worldwide to address the problematic shifter used on cars with eight-speed automatic transmissions. The issue is that the console-mounted shifter acts like a rocker switch and always returns to the middle position after moved. This has been deemed confusing to drivers – confusing enough to cause some to exit their vehicles without first selecting Park and leading to the car rolling away. FCA says 41 injuries are related to the shifter problem, and no evidence of equipment failure has been found. The company will enhance warning chimes and alter the shift strategy, meaning alert messages will be displayed in case the driver door is opened while the engine is running. With the door open, the transmission will prevent the car from moving even if Park is not selected. The affected vehicles are certain model-year 2012–2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans, as well as model-year 2014–2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs, an estimated 811,586 US vehicles in total. The recall also affects 52,144 vehicles in Canada, 16,805 in Mexico, and 248,667 vehicles elsewhere. The shifter is used with ZF-designed and ZF-built eight-speed automatic; Audi uses a similar shifter setup in some of its vehicles, including the current-generation, which predated Chrysler's use of it. Chrysler uses a different, a rotating-dial-type shifter on eight-speed-equipped Rams. The company moved away from the problem shifter design in 2015 for the Charger and 300, and the Grand Cherokee's shift lever was modified for 2016. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified of the recall when service is available. Fiat Chrysler urges customers to follow the instructions in the vehicle's owner's manual in the meantime.
